Beyond the obvious, which weapon manufacturers are associated with which megacorporations? Or are they all individual corps of their own right?

For example: Fabrique Nationale is owned by Monobe and Ultimax is a Renraku subsidiary. I also remember mention of Browning somewhere.

Just curious if there is a list...

I think, not certain, but I think Izhmash and Colt got somehow bundled together not sure who's on top in that one though.

Gun Heaven 2 has things broken down in that manner, actually...  No mention of Colt in there, though.

FN owns Browning... so it would be part of Monobe too.

Cavalier Arms is 79% in the hands of Reality Inc., acquired from NeoNET during their troubles and the disappearance of Miles Lanier. The other 21% is owned by a man named Derrick Kane. I'm working on getting more info about Mr. Kane to the SR reading public.

'Kane' own a large part of an arms manufacturer.
Almost as scary as him having acquired stealth bomber parts.

Well, Derrick and "Kane" are two different guys, but all things considered ... yeah, probably just as bad. Derrick ... he lives an interesting life. :)

I ran across that link while looking for an image of the Ares Redline.  If you run the page through Google Translate (for those who do not read German), it has a list of Ares weapon subsidiaries.  Colt and Ingram are included, I did not know Ruger was somehow under Ares as well.

I know for sure that Walther belongs to Ruhrmetall (a German A-Corp)

HK is described as being "close to Saeder-Krupp"
maybe that means SK owns a large part of them but not 100%?

Are you sure about Ruger being owned by Ares? Because I find it a tad hard to believe that  in the early 2050s Lone Star would have knowingly licensed the Thunderbolt manufacturing to any part of Ares.

I do not know which exactly which book they are referencing from, but I assume it is a previous edition or German edition?  The references are on the wiki page.

I wish there were a bit more on the others.

AK isn't a manufacturer.  It stands for Avtomat Kalashnikova.  It's more like a model name.  It is/was manufactured in dozens of former Comm-Block countries and by even greater numbers of different manufacturers.  It comes in multiple calibers, multiple configurations including sniper versions and bullpup versions.  Hell, Saiga even makes a version chambered to use shotgun shells in 12, 20 and .410 gauges.

Just like the AR in AR-15 stands for ARmalite.  But Colt, Armalite, Bushmaster, and etc, etc, all make AR-15s.

Cordially,

Long time lurker, first time poster. :) Yes, I registered just to provide some assistance. Both links provided for proper credit.

Old post on Dumpshock had a link that may be relevant to your interests: http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=36097&st=150&p=1201534&#entry1201534

There's a link regarding the Corporate Index: http://nmath.free.fr/onyx/depot/Corporate%20Index%202065.xls Not sure how accurate it is, but sources are cited where known, IIRC.

Edit: And it's out of date. Supposedly accurate as of 2065.

Beat me to it.  Izhmash (mentioned upthread) is one of the bigger makers (at least currently) of the AK.
