Well the title says it all, I think while the conventional conflict has ended, a cold war is beginning. Both nations still hate each other very much....OK, I think in terms of property, nuyen, men and equipment, Aztlan lost the most. How?:

1. a major portion of Amazonian troops were Mercs, also many of its guerillas were probably eco terrorist volunteers from around the world. Though its awakened troops were mainly from Amazonia.

2. The fighting centered on Bogota, still a small fraction of Amazonia was captured by Aztlan and the Azantlaners lost a lot doing so. Amazonia sitll has a lot of men and resources behind it.

OK Aztlan victorious has gotten Aztlan/Aztechnology a lot of PR victories but its military and economy got weakened. However it has gotten rid of its dragon problem, has its other archenemy, the CAS focused on the PCP. While it lost , it also weakened its enemies.

I bet that the Amazonians are going to try something again in the future against Aztlan/Aztechnology. I don't think Amazonia has unleashed its true potential. Hualpa probably went to peace treaty mode to cut losses. But Amazonia is huge so Amazonia destroyed several Aztlan cities, Aztalan only fucked up Bogota.

There're still plenty of borders waiting to ignite, too... Aztlan-CAS, Aztlan-PCC, PCC-CAS, California  pretty much everywhere, rumors of UCAS and Sioux issues ... That's just in North America.

Az-Am might be cooling down, but you still have some red-hot embers inside. Who knows where the wind'll blow 'em?

The Greats aren't likely to take direct action against Aztechnology unless they find a way to first counter the weapons they used on Sirrurg. Either that, or their coming will be like a Thor shot. No one knows a thing until BAM you're dust. Aztechnology is still one of the most hated enemies of dragon-kind, and while the greats may be recouping their losses after having lost three of their number (one dead, one imprisoned, one exiled), they still haven't forgotten, or forgiven, the Azzies. Expect shadow ops to be huge.

Warning:  Storm Front Spoiler!

I expect it's no coincidence that Lofwyr's nomination for his successor was the other mega-involved great.  Ensure the Loremaster is still in a place to strike at the Azzies, as it were.

I dont think greats would be too scared to attack Aztla...seeing the level of destruction Sirrun himself caused, I doubt Aztlan would hold amore than steel curtain in case united front of two or three dragons attack. But It all seemed like the planned move...Sirrug attacking this way just after that mysterious meeting...IMO he was told he better take his chances against Aztlan and that he cannot expect support of the others. Also...despite Aztlan`s mirraculous ability to recover from (lost) war conflicts, I dont expect them to be able to start another war right now...

WAR! has some on them, I believe. Also, I think there's a writeup in one of the recent books. Yeah, Hazard Pay, in the 'protectors and despoilers' section.

DIrty Tricks also has information, which leads into Storm Front.

And explains why Aztlan's recovery from this war might not be as smooth as usual...

They devoted MASSIVE resources to the hunt for Sirrurg. And the better part of their food supply has been trashed. Plus, that territory they just acquired has been utterly pulverized (and still has man-eating trees, probably more now that they firebombed large stretches of the forest). Even though Aztlan/Aztechnology gets the big PR win, but they are not exactly sitting pretty.
