"Certainly, but as a professional I do have to do my due diligence and account for the possibilities, you understand.  So what exactly are the parameters here?" Reading through the file Tink found, Jimmy was a bit concerned - 'chittering' was not a good word.  Still, odds were it was nothing, and he was certainly a gambler.

<<Good work, should be able to use this to get some extra money.  I'm gonna copy everyone else in, want to see if anything jumps out at them.>>  He copied everyone else in, and sent out a group message.  <<Any of this seem familiar to anyone?>>

Richter is sitting at the counter facing the private room's door, fifth glass of cranberry juice in hand. He reads through the text file with obvious contempt. <<I think I've seen this movie before. Giant rubber puppet leaps out and eats them all, right? I'd be willing to bet money we'll be the scariest things in there, hands down. Doubt it's anything worse than a hellhound or two, assuming there's anything at all.>>

Ignazio leaned forward as the suspicions were described. This didn't really sound too bad, but he knew you shouldn't make those kind of assumptions... they always bite you on the ass. "Well, sounds like the usual paracritter infestation, nothing too bad..."

[To Draco]<<I know it's probably nothing, but based on what he's said and the data we've found, what do you think it could be if it turns out it is something?>>

<<Well, it could be a couple things. The most likely scenario is it's just some devil rats or hell hounds... Worst case, we've got an up and coming hive.>>

<<Ain't no devil rat I've ever heard of that bends a person's mind, though, and I thought hellhounds could only scare folks?  I mean, that's some seriously weird drek Tink dug up.  Can you think of anything that would explain it?>>

You should probably roll your Magical Theory knowledge.  This is the sort of thing you have such skills for, after all.[/color]

Ignazio thinks back to his studies in Mexico City, trying to remember if he'd ever heard of anything like this.

"There's loads of things that mess with you now a days. Maybe it was a jacked up SIM like a BTL or a psychotropic program, maybe someone stuck a simrig on a goblin, like i said, maybe it was fragging technomancers, who knows."

Magical Theory results:
What could magically-induce fear and or mind control? Most spirits could pull-off one or the other, some both. Hellhounds were known for their fear powers as well. Might be a mental Manipulation spell on its own or in combination with something else. Beyond your roll results but totally appropriate for you to know given your background: blood spirits all have fear-inducing powers as well.
<<I'd be inclined to agree with Triple Sun here myself. Sounds like whoever was watching that caught some real bad simsense. My guess, whoever was recording it got jumped by a hellhound and that was the simsense translating its fear attack>>.

"Fear doesn't make you that hungry, that was like a guy tweeking for his addiction. HMHVV does that.
And you will address I, Three Star, correctly Marduk"

<<Nosferatu, maybe? Wendigo are super cannibalistic as well, though they don't tend to do cities much.>>

Richter scoffs at Three Star from across the bar. He adds, in person this time, "I'll call you whatever I damn well please, omae".

<<These are all possibles... it sounds like some kind of mind affecting paracritter, which could be anything from your average hellhounds to some kind of spell or spirit... especially blood spirits>>

Mr. Johnson seems to have been lost in thought; careful observers would guess he was communicating with someone else. "The job is composed of several components and you will be paid on a per-day basis. First, you will travel to London and rendezvous with our local contact who will guide you to the Arcology. The ultimate goal is making the Towers habitable and I recommend you start with investigating and, if necessary, repairing the power lines. We cannot arrange for a utility supplier until you have accomplished this so I would prefer if you dealt with it first. After this is done, your local guide will investigate and determine what else needs to be done. In all likelihood you will have to remove some paracritters and deal with the gangs as well".
