@All: «It's a smokescreen - it conceals their real activity from most observers.  Of course, when you're that loud about it someone like me can see it for what it is immediately.»[/b]

@all: Thanks, at least I'll know what to watch out for next time, assuming I run into someone or a group of someones being this loud as you put it.

@All: «Yeah, you can filter through it with a good search subroutine if you configure it properly - basically need to set it to return all results that aren't this brand of spam.»

"Thank you, Ronny. I'm Silk, nice to meet you.", the young woman said with her warmest smile before sitting down, casually leaning back and completely at ease.
She returned her full attention to Dothash, keeping a smile on her face but taking a slightly more businesslike voice. "So this ARB... Your boss? Leader? He okayed you to make a deal with a group of Shadowrunners? Cool guy. But uhm, I don't mean any disrespect to you or your gang; you guys obviously got a pretty great thing going on here. But are you sure that with this stuff with the Nukes going on, you guys can afford the distraction of taking on jobs on the side?"

"We're used to multitasking and honestly, the muscle might get fragged off when this stuff happens, but ARB isn't worried. We barely consider it an open gang war or anything. If the Nukes wanted someone dead today, there'd be more than rubble in that room, i got enough respect for their skill with firecrackers to know that. They're trying to scare us to get some more turf, simple as." He pats the ork on the shoulder and Ronny nods at Silk then stands by the door after shutting it. Dothash takes his seat casually, "Though I didn't know you were Runners, I guess with seeing such a mix in your car, it makes sense. I also wasn't aware there was any side job involved? Huck only mentioned hardware."

"Yeah, we do. But come to think of it, hardware might have a different meaning to a group of hackers though... So let me tell you the joke, if you know it already, just stop me, okay?
So this dwarf walks up to this gunrunner, flashes a credstick and asks "Hey omae, you got a good gun to sell me?"
The guy looks down at the dwarf, shrugs and says "Nope. Sorry chummer, ain't got no guns to sell ya."
The dwarf's a bit surprised but decides that if he doesn't have a gun, he might at least try scaring away enemies with a grenade and asks Oh... Okay then. Got any grenades or something?"
The gunrunner just shakes his head. "Nope, can't help ya, chum."
The dwarf doesn't understand, he was told that this guy had the biggest arms stash in the neighborhood and asks "Well, could you at least sell me a good knife or something?"
The arms dealer throws him an irritated look, answers "I said no, shorty. I ain't got nothing to sell ya, buzz off." and turns his back to the dwarf.
Now the dwarf's a bit ticked off and starts shouting. "What the frack, man? What's your drekking problem? You got something against dwarves or something?"
At which point the arms dealer turns back to the dwarf and says "What do I got against dwarves? Why didn't you fracking say so? Oh, man, I've got knives, I've got grenades and I've got a crate full of smartlinked, lasersighted Uzi's with a big load of ammo."

"Heh," it's a polite little laugh, not one you'd see at a corporate dinner party, it's more genuine. "I think i see why you were so eager to tell your joke. But wheres the real punchline. huh? What is the Arms dealer looking for..?"

In the corner, the Orkish guard looks confused.

Cookie assuming he wasn't being watched, simply rubbed the bridge of his nose, then pushed his goggles up. Just so he could look around with his real eyes, whilst attempting to not make his discomfort at Silks joke clear.

Silk laughed.
"Good, you caught that, did you? The second punchline's pretty good, too: We don't even fracking know!"
She actually seemed a little bit ashamed. "Truth is, we got this thing to do and just want to have all our bases covered, right? Hell, if everything goes according to plan we probably won't even need you to do anything. But if the drek hits the fan, it'd be nice to have some contingency plans. You know, the proverbial ace up the sleeve."

"Well I can't say we aren't interested in some easy firepower. I need to hear more on what you might need before i decide, If we help you but you still have the guns, there's no guarantee we'd be able to track down Shadowrunners for payment."

Silk looked at him incredulously. "Somehow, I really doubt you couldn't. But it's really good to know you're interested in what I got to offer."
She changed her position on the uncomfortable chair, leaning forward toward Dothash and looked in his eyes intently. "I'm sure, together, we'll be able to work out something that works for us both."
Boost his ego, throw in some female charm, get him to feel we're on the same side. This'll be easy.
She broke the short charm spell she was trying to cast with a wave of her hand.
"Hey, can I ask you a question? Your group's name really puzzles me. First I feared you'd be ghouls or something. Then I learned you're pretty great hackers, so I figured maybe you'd be turning your brains to mush with BTL's or crap like that. Doesn't seem like either of those fit. So what's the deal?"

"Names been around for decades, we're a long standing fixture in the barrens, unlike wizgangs, metacrews and all the new crap, Hackers have been hackers since we had a damned system to exploit. So the oldies picked an intimidating name, but you're astute to pick up on the BTL connection. We sell only the very best mindtrips around here, with frying kept to the very minimum I'll assure you.
Or so goes the sale pitch, it's obvious you don't slot, but if you ever want to try, the first chips free."
He glances at Cookie at the end of his spiel.

Cookie shuffled his feet slightly and shrugged. Did the guy know him? or was it because he did something kind of odd just a few seconds ago, then he realised he was wearing that T-shirt.
Should I say something, I did tell Silk that I wouldn't interact in anyway, I'll just let her get on with it, he talks to me at the end well that's different.

"Thanks, but I think I'll pass. I've already got plenty of amusement in my head without slotting extra stuff into it."
Silk looked around the room. "Old gang, huh? Guess that explains why there's so many wiring here.
Sooo, anyway, about this deal. You need to talk to ARB about this? See what you guys are willing to do, physical or matrix and how much you guys want in return?"
