Absolutely nuts, right? Well a friend of mine just asked me to build the Type-L "Feugo" from Rideback and arm it. Well I started with a Troll Hammer Motorcycle, walker mode, and a pair of full arms. The Vehicle has a body of 12 (vehicle recoil rules say this means a RC of 12,) the Ingram White Knight itself has an RC of 5(6) for a total of 18! He wants the thing going guns akimbo and that's where i can no longer figure out what penalties he takes for using a two handed gun one handed, what happens when you fire two guns simultaneously on the same target, if you could even aim at two targets simultaneously, or any other issues that this is bound to bring with it.

1: Using a 2 handed weapon in 1 hand is a -2 penalty, or -1 for trolls.
2: If you make two attacks in one action, you split your dice pool and apply modifiers after the split.

If they're both mounted, it's largely the same - only using Command+Gunnery, handedness is no longer relevant as it's on a weapon mount.

they aren't mounted, they are in mechanical hands!

...  For what possible reason would he do it that way?

All the same, then it's one-handed penalties again, so -2 as mechanical arms are not trolls.

Ridebacks have a pair of mechanical arms, he figures that if they have a pair of arms then rather than waist slots and nuyen on mounts, (not to mention the legality issues of mounts) he can just have it carry the weapons when required.

Suppose that makes some sense.

Would likely depend on the GM whether they can even properly hold guns with those, and whether the full Body recoil works. Since, after all, the Drone's Body gives recoil compensation because that gun is bolted to the thing so there's no problem with it flying out of your grip. I'd either disallow it (they're mechanical arms, not meant for sudden shocky movements) or let the Body count as Strength for recoil.
How am I not part of the forum?? O_O I am both active and angry!

mechanical arms with full articulation do have a strength equal to the body, and vehicle recoil rules say the body score counts as RC.

His point was more that those rules are for weapon mounts, rather than for mechanical arms.

My point is that the rules run parallel

I'd either disallow it (they're mechanical arms, not meant for sudden shocky movements) or let the Body count as Strength for recoil.

now i just have to remember/find how strength applies to recoil compensation. not an issue I've had to deal with all that much surprisingly.

Advanced Combat Rules, in Arsenal.  Offers minor recoil compensation at high scores.

That would out the White Knights at 8 RC. still not bad even with the -2 for one handed use.

Even without that, the stock GV5 makes it easy to get enough RC.
