So my good friend, fellow forum member, and fellow Shadowrun freelancer Cynthia Celeste Miller is Kickstarting a new edition of her fantastic roleplaying game of 1980's Action Cartoon goodness, Cartoon Action Hour.  The game is awesome and a ton of fun, especially if you a 30-40somthing like me who grew up on He-Man, GI Joe, Transformers, Jem & The Holograms, and the like.  So for that reason alone, you should consider pledging and getting yourself a copy of the game.

But wait!  There's more!

Cynthia has lined up an amazing array of guest writers to write mini-supplements for the game if it reaches certain stretch goals, including Eddy Webb of White Wolf fame, Jason Blair (creator of the fantastic Little Fears, Streets of Bedlam, and Wyrd Is Bond rpgs), Steven S Long of Hero games, Shane Hensley (Creator of Deadlands), Matt Forbeck (Deadland, Brave New World), and John Wick (7th Seas).

Oh, and for some strange reason, mixed in with all these amazing writers?  Me.

Heh.  Go figure.  I think someone made a mistake, but I'm not gonna say anything if you won't :)

So yeah, if you wanna put me to work and see some fun 80's inspired Cartoon Craziness, then go here and pledge now :)

Good to know I have precedent to point to that this kinda thing is allowed, Bull. : P

Also, that's awesome for CCM. What a lineup!

Thanks Bull!  Would have missed it except for your post.  Backed at the Cartoon Master level.  Like the mechanics, very cool.

Awesome, Black!  :)

And as of today, my STretch Goal was unlocked!  Muhuhahahaha!  My dreams of creating a cheesy 80's era cartoon will be (almost) fully realized!  <grin>

Saw that in the latest Update.  Nice.  Look forward to reading it.. and maybe running the odd game or two on a lazy weekend.  I think this system and everything about it lends its self to relaxing enjoyable, just-plan-fun game play and fun one-shots.

Couple new stretch goals added and made, including one where all the Miniseries (Including mine!) gets to see print instead of just being a PDF supplement!  Yay!

And a really nice Add-On, a Lifetime Subscription to CAH.  THis add-on gets you all of the Season 3 PDF material produced for the Kickstarter, plus PDFs of any and all future Cartoon Action Hour products, including any and all new Seasons/Editions (should it get to there. :)

I'm really looking forward to my Miniseries, and I think anyone reading this here will enjoy it immensely, so hopefully you pick up a copy :)

I see that our own Wak Shaani has now joined in and will be contributing to this great Kickstarter.  Perfecto!

Who all (besides me) actually remembers all those cheesy 80's cartoons?
There is no overkill.

Only "Open fire" and "I need to reload."

I have "The Real Ghostbusters" Box Set, too.  It looks like the Firehall.  ;D

I certainly do.

And speaking of the actual cartoons...  besides Wak, the legendary Flint Dille has been added as a new Stretch Goal!  Flint works as a Story Editor on GI JOe and Transformers (among others), and wrote episodes for damn near every cartoon during taht time period.  He also co-authored the Sagard the Barbarian Gamebooks with Gary Gygax (They were similar to the Lone Wolf books...  Choose Your Own Adventure with a combat and advancement mechanic built in).

I'm really excited about Flint joining the effort.  That's huge.

If I could humbly ask...  Can everyone try and share the Kickstarter info around?  On Twitter, Facebook, other forums where it might be relevant, etc? Even if you can't afford to (or aren't interested in) kicking in yourself, we're down to 5 days left, and there are some very cool stretch goals left to hit, so spreading the word helps as much as a pledge, if not more :)

And just to update, we've got last couple authors unlocked now (Flint Dille and Buzz Dixon, both veterans and legends of the 80's cartoon scene), plus Wasteland 2010 is now unlocked as a full-length series guide (it'll be a Thundarr the Barbarian Sorcery and Science pastiche).

I'm hoping in the next 36 hours we can unlock at least one more stretch goal, Beyond the 80's.  Adding in other era's and genres to the mix would rock.

The basic pledge levels are amazing deals.  Avid Viewer, the $10 pledge, gets you the corebook PDF, and PDFs of all the mini-series and most of the other stuff that's unlocked. $25 Cartoon Hero gets you a Print Version of Cartoon Action Hour, plus ALL the stretch goal series in PDF. An extra $10 add on gets you After These Messages in print as well, which will collect all the Mini-Series (Which right now, is about 15 or so?  So that's gonna be a hefty little book :))

Yes, I'm whoring this out big time.  Cartoon Action Hour is a fantastic little game, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be a part of it.  And hey, what can I say, I want the stretch goal goodies.  I'm greedy that way. And if it helps out Cynthia and the folks at Spectrum along the way, even better!
