Ok CS I'm a bit confused...
A clear plastic sheet covers the row of ports, hinged at the far side to swing out of the way for access.

Sounds like at least one side should move but...
Try as you might, the plastic cover would not budge under pressure from your fingers alone. IT feels like the sleeve is there to protect the ports from more than just the weather...

So do I think it would be easier just to cut a whole for the plugs?  Cutting implements are the one thing Knives never lacks.

Knives remembers seeing these before on outdoor cameras. They are RFID transponder controlled anti-tamper covers.
A small RFID chip needs to be put in proximity to the cover and it will open.

You'd need to get the key to open it safely, it'd most likely be downstairs somewhere. Knives can also see from his prone position that he could probably Jimmy it open with the tip of a blade. Your security knowledge tells you it might not be a great idea though

Balls.  Is it possible to cut through the plastic without damaging the plug?   Sounds like that could work without setting off the RFID sensor. Since he chucked the two ceramic blades he'd have the two combat knives so he doesn't have to use the cougars.

Though I just had a thought... pretty sure Mantis said he had a hardware kit, which may have something a little more subtle.

I just want to roll one of my skill group (Electronics) Sills All are linked to Logic to see If Mantis can see how to hook it up, then tell Knives a walk through on what to do.

One Electronics skill (You choose Hardware I think) 1 + Logic 5(7) + Genetech(PuSHed) +1 = 9d6

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4537942/ 4 hits

IF I find out what to do I will try and talk Knives through the process.

Man I need to get the climb skill or get a spell to climb for me.

assuming knives takes a picture of the underside of the boxes and sends it to you,
you know that anti tamper covers are generally attached to the outermost layer of the casing. you can bypass them reasonably easily by removing the casing, accessing the ports they protect and then re-assembling the casing afterwards.
it takes time and is fiddly to do in enclosed spaces (like inside that cabinet) but is perfectly doable.

it is possible, but remember it is an "anti-tamper" device :-)

Ok, i know you guys are a little baffled as to what to do here. Your options as I see it:
1) force open/break through the anti-tamper cover and risk the consequences
2) head downstairs and look for the proper key
3) disassemble the casing to bypass the anti-tamper device (having the guys talk you through it will result in a teamwork test with -ve mods)
3b)doing this without proper tools (using knife blade as a screwdriver for example) will double the time it takes and increase glitch threshold
4) have dunk/mantis do the work, either by sneaking in and going upstairs or climbing (you could always throw your gecko gloves down to them).

@mantis: if you have access to air spirits, they can fly. when materialised they should be able to courier tools and other light equipment on your behalf.
Higher force=more lifting capability

hope that helps guys

EDIT: feel free to edit previous posts if you decide on a different course of action

Thanks for the breakdown CS!

I'm leaning towards 3 or 4.  Knives is the sneaky stabby type, not the technology wiz type.  Hell I could toss down one end of stealth rope and the gecko gloves,  have Mantis hang on and I could pull him up.  That way Knives does the heavy lifting.

2 is an option but it could be really risky.  1 I think will result in failure, we were warned from the beginning if they find out it was tampered with the mission was a bust.

Okay then lads;
I'll need an infiltration roll for Mantis and then a teamwork test for the lift:

-Knives is the leader and will roll BOD+STR +Mantis's hits to hit threshold of 5 (mantis's BOD +1)

-Mantis is the assistant and will roll BOD + STR at -2    (-4 untrained + sheer wall, +2 assisted)

Glitches on either test make it noisy, crit glitch is a drop/fall/rope slip
---------------------------------------------
Or, if you would rather; Mantis can just attach to the rope with the gecko (no roll) and knives can haul him up and roll an extended BOD + STR {12, combat turn} test.
This is noisier as mantis will be hitting the wall a lot but slightly safer in terms of glitches. (glitches just extend the time it takes to do the lift, crit glitch doubles the interval)

Either way, state your preference and roll the dice :-)
