Crap, do the sprites get the +2 for being in VR, wouldn't matter in this case as their net hits are greater than my highest attribute (6) so any more successes wouldn't make any difference.

So, if they can help, then I've got 7 hits (mental limit is 8 they two assistants would push that to 10, but again, I rolled poorly so doesn't really matter) otherwise 3.

I'm going to do another MP on each file to ID the Matrix Signature on each.
Matrix Perception to find Matrix Signature (Int 5 + Comp 6 + Sepc 2 + TM 2 + VR 2 = 17): 7#17d6t5 5 7 5 4 3 6 8 (Limit 5)
Mostly just looking to see if there are multiple signatures, if all of the ones I find ar the same, I'm not going to worry overly much about missing one.

Next its time to try the first bomb.  Sprites can't help with this, so it's all me   Let's do this one at a time.
First chip big file data bomb:
Disarm Data Bomb (Int 5 + Software 6 + VR 2 = 13): 13d6t5 3 (limit 5)
This being pretty fraggin' important and that won't, on average, score any net hits, here's a point of edge to re-roll misses

ffs, needed that the first time 8 total hits, limit is 5.  Here's hoping the bomb doesn't roll nearly as well as I did on that second roll.

So he broke the encryption and learned that the bombs had attack code weaved in, or was that just finding the bombs?  Was he able to decrypt the 5 files that don't have bombs in them with the resonance test or was that something else?

Encryption algorythm is broken after you analysed it and decrypted it with your sprite team:
-Takes about 30 seconds to decode a file before viewing its contents, choose any file in any order you please.
-Other large file still has active databomb.
-Reference to attack code is just IC fluff for discovery of databomb through matrix perception test.

Chip 1: Deleted file, 2 now-unencrypted files
Chip 2: Bombed file, 3 now-unencrypted files

I'm guessing that since I've worked with Bex in the past we have a method for getting messages annonymously to each other.  I just made one up and fluffed it out.

Sending the message:  Had a misshap, but most of the work is done.  I'll finish it in the morning.
He'll wait a little bit for a response, then get a nights sleep.  In the morning he'll take a dose of Psyche and try to disarm the bomb.  Though I'm guessing that Bex/Mr. Smith will respond with a faster better than finished type message, and be none too pleased with the data loss.

EDIT: If he either doesn't hear back or gets the all clear to finish in the morning, he'll dismiss Alistair (good sprite but no time to register him right now).
