Corp Scrip - 0
Credstick - 500 (Leroy frequents bars and bartenders prefer tips on credstick to avoid taxes)
Electric Money (debit account) - 900

As far as different karma awards, I'm totally for it.  I think there should an incentive for putting in the time to role play and keeping your posts neat and easily readable.  I don't want to get bored reading someone else's boring post so I try to not be a hypocrite by putting some effort behind it.  Why not make up medals or something, announce them, and hand them out when dealing out Karma?

example:

BEST ROLE PLAYER - 2 KARMA
BALLSIEST MOVE - 1 KARMA
LUCKIEST ROLL - 1 KARMA
MOST DAMAGE DEALT - 1 KARMA
TEAM PLAYER - 2 KARMA
BACON SAVER - 1 KARMA

These are just ideas that I came up with in a few seconds.  This way, you don't feel like you're penalizing someone by not giving them as much karma as you do REWARDING someone for performance in game.  Also, this gives people something to do when the action is set on a select few.  I GM'ed a game once where there were two people fighting in a lobby with gangers while the face stood lookout outside... The face went days without posting while turns were being resolved in the lobby, and I feel had they had some incentive for more karma, they might have been able to at least post something rather than doing nothing at all.

i like the above system, will pop that into my own games, cheers gustov!
you said matt just got paid in corpscrip so i'd assume a good chunk of my starting cash will be tied up in that, i'll follow your lead on how you think it should be.

Debit Account - 1000
No money stored elsewhere.

Don't  have any issues with different karma awards. As Gustovness said, it's an incentive to roleplay.

Thanks for the answers.

Starting money:
-          Farothel: 200 credstick, 200 corp scrip, 700 electronic
-          Gustovness: 500 credstick, 900 electronic
-          Csjarrat: i’d say it’s about 150 credstick, 400 corp scrip, 170 electronic
-          MaxKojote: i’d say you are surely paid at least partly in corp scrip, so about 30% of your starting money should be in that form.
Just to be clear, corp scrip is also fully electronic money, the difference from other debit accounts is only the currency.

About karma:
I don’t really wan’t to use an award system because if i want to be fair and give every award where it is due, it might produce bigger differences than you or me could accept. I usually use the cathegories described in the rulebook as guidelines (guts/smarts, role-playing, push story onwards, right skill at the right time, drama/humor) but it’s just guidelines. If you want to give your opinion about other players or characters according to some cathegories, i suggest using that. And i totally agree that i want to reward memorable moments, not penalize anybody.

@Gustovness: I think i remember something about that game you mentioned  :D

Please decide what route you want to take: direct and as fast as possible, or trying to avoid the main areas as much as possible.
Chris, you forgot to take the wound modifier into account for the last Composure check, and taking away the last die, you only had 1 success. Please have Matt being jittery and very keen to leave the place ASAP, irrespectively of the situation. You also get a -2 dice pool penality to social checks until you leave the building, instead when defending against one, or trying to intimidate someone.
@Csjarrat: How far do you want to send the drone? It is not that fast, so if you want to be out quickly, you can’t have it scout all the way to where you should exit the main halls for maintenance again.

@Csjarrat: the people you met were not there half a minute earlier, when the drone crossed the same intersection.

Miko, I also hope you're good with that weapon since I won't be able to spellcast my way out of a paper bag currently.

I can handle my gun, yes.  But with a background of -2 you should be able to do something?  And if I recall correctly, it's associated with death, so killing a couple of gangers should be eaiser, righ?  :)

The problem is that domain aspects, from what I can tell, are associated in relation with your tradition rather than the specific spell. With this one, I suspect it would be associated with the 'Path of the Dead' tradition that Twisted mages follow. If Ren allows that Powerbolt qualifies under the Domain then I'm not completely in trouble. But given that the aspects are 'death, fear and suffering' while my character works magic towards 'nature, beasts and the land'...
