On background count: MaxKojote is about right in his assessment. Most of his magical abilities would be hindered by the aspect of the domain. On the other hand, I certainly would handle exceptions. For example, the domain would reduce the effectiveness of a Stunbolt spell, but it would increase the effectiveness of the Agony spell. The Powerbolt mentioned by Farothel is not among the exceptions by my take, it is linked more to destruction than death. Slay […] spells on the other hand, would be strengthened by the domain.
All-in-all, magic is not an exact science, even if some traditions would like to believe so. I won’t set exact rules, as I will take into account the tradition, mentor spirit, state of mind, and intentions of a spellcaster as well as the spell itself. I’ll let you be intuitive, and figure out which spells are not hindered in a certain background. And a good post will help your cause.  ;)

Note on languages: if I use some non-English words in my posts I will put the meanings in spoiler at the end of the post, for those whose characters speak that language.

Look up on google: police medic medic wellness stick

As far as magic is concerned, Miko has the knowledge of a boiled potato.  :)

@Csjarrat: please roll an opposed CHA + Leadership (Persuasion) or CHA + Negotiation test. Modifiers for the tests are -1 for being fewer than the other group, -3 for them being hostile, +2 for the ork being uncertain, so -2 altogether. This is a tight spot to talk yourself out of.

@all: if any of you wanted to make a move, the ork turning away gives the perfect opportunity. Please state OOC if you do or don't do something sudden or aggressive.

as hunter has fuck all in the way of social skills, i'm more tempted to just bolt tbh. as tempting a taser target as the distracted ork is, i've already got us in enough trouble so far lol
though taking down the big brutish one in front of the gang usually makes the little whimpy ones scarper.... :-)

EDIT: actually, balls to it. seems i've commited myself to being a face now :-S i'll burn a point of edge for the successes

Is there some cover close by I can go stand behind?

I tried to look for a decent mapping tool but i didn't find a suitable one in the short time i could spare for that so i have to rely on words instead. Basically you are at the intersection of a hallway and a corridor. The hall is about 10 meters wide, the ork and the four humans are in there, scattered around about 20-25 meters from you. The corridor crossing the hallway (you came from here) is about 5 meters wide, and you stand in the intersection. Near you, there are the two corners, a low bench on the left side of the hall, and a small ornament, part fountain and part vegetation, in the middle of the intersection, that can be used as cover. The other group has a couple of low benches and a larger bin to use as cover so they are probably worse off. The footing is uneven because of the bodies on the ground.

No worries, mate.  As a side note I will probably be on reduced access due to holidays from 31AUG until 09SEP.  I know there's Wifi, but I'm not sure how much time I will have to post.

As another side note, I've been forgetting my attention coprocessor the entire time.  :-[

I've adapted my last IC post with the perception roll (I thought it better then adding a new post).  Ren can just post the result in his last post and we go from there.

@Gustovness: no sourcebook mentions "charges" so i suggest lets go with ten before it needs a refill. Treating someone's wounds takes usually one charge, but in some situations, like extensive wounds, or some special circumstances, can take two charges to treat.
