@Pipebomb
Just as you're about to stop Smiley from knocking on the door, Sandman sends you a message.
"Here's what I found. For payment, I'll ask for a favour from you later.
Yaibei, Akio Ryuu by name, lives in a dojo. He has been somewhat active on the running scene, but mostly through the dojo master. Seems the master is who you're ultimately working for, so Yaibei might be there to keep an eye on things. Stay alert.
J, real name Conrad Johnson (if you can believe it), worked for SK-P here in Tokyo before being fired recently. He has a SIN, which made it quite easy for me to track him down. As for the reason of his termination, details are a little fuzzy, but it seems it has something to do with his family. No current address, no real reputation on the streets yet.
Smiley, real name Daniel Smiling Wolf, gets around town. Quite a few people know of him, especially in the night scene. From Montana, he did his service. His military career is full of ups and downs, the downs being mostly with women and booze. Finally got the boot after killing someone in "self-defence"
Kuren, born and raised here in Japan, was also in the military. Made MP, but eventually got out and started his own private eye gig. He runs the shadows on occasion, when his legitimate business isn't going well mostly.
Mia you probably heard of before. She sings in a few places, but mostly is attached to her manager, a man called "MacTavish", a Japanese cat that poses as a Scotsman. She runs on occasion, has a mouth but always seems to please the right person at the right time.
I couldn't find anything on a Mizuki Kobayashi except that the trail splits and stops both at the NTMG (that's the Neo-Tokyo Metropolitan Government for you ignorant gaijin) and at Renraku."
@Kuren
With your second attempt, you are finally able to disarm the alarm on the node and put things back to normal, but not before the system notified some other node.
