After confirming that J was "ok..." Mia ran back to the noodle shop and her bike dropping her spell as she went. She knew the crash was gonna be bad but it was always worse the longer she held it and this was the time to be thinking clearly not pinging. Arriving in time to see the last of the flare up between the rest of the team she stepped to intercept smiley. Grabbing him by the jacket she pulled him in close to whisper in his ear "Smilez,i told you this shit was bad man. This is the crap that get people killed, people like you and me, not useless corp sec or wage slaves. I'm gonna follow this lead on the body with J but i think you really pushed his buttons somehow. Not your fault but maybe stay clear for now, i should be able to keep the kid outta too much trouble. Just do what you need to do and maybe see if you can't work out how to bring this lot back together before it costs us the job... or our lives!"

Mia let Smiley go with a pat on the back and an encouraging smile. She rushed to her bike and took of after J, feeling the weight of the world bearing down on her as the down from her spell started to reach its crescendo. "Damn if don't keep throwing myself into this stupid shit. Maybe one day the music will be enough..."

Riding around in the general direction J took off, Mia finally manges to make him out hunkered down in one of the back streets. Giving the place a quick once over, she waits on her bike, keeping an eye on J as he works his mojo. He seemed very intent, the bumbling and stumbling gone from his demeanor, a much harder and in a way bitter look in his face. With confidence he called out into the realms beyond, commanding a kami into his presence and dealing with it short and sharp liek scapel. Perhaps, despite his look, this was no burned out mojo slinger. This man seemed... dangerous. What was it that made him tick, and why oh why, had had he seemed so broken...

@J

You search inside of yourself, trying to locate a spirit in the Astral. Sifting through the different energies, you locate a signature that might be able to help find what you're looking for. Your calls catch the beast's attention, eventually coming forth. A pure white crane appears before you, contemplating your mortal shell. "What would you ask of me?" says the spirit, its communication with you done telepathically.

As Mia watches J converse with his kami, she lets out a sigh, and begins to call out to the metaplanes for an ally of her own. With the image of the woman firmly in her head, and the token of her physical form nearby, she summoned forth a kami of man.

"Thank you for heeding my call for assistance. I have been charged with finding the mortal shell  this fragment belongs to, please use your superior abilities to find them before the shell is destroyed and lead me there. She has been taken from this coil before her time and I am looking for the truth behind a veil."
J keeps his posture low, not making eye contact until the Kami has decided to help, bowing as if to a superior.

@Mia

With J's efforts looking fruitful, you set on your own to find a spirit to help. Reaching out to the kami world you look for something more in tune with metahumans. After a brief moment you locate a spirit that matches what you were looking for. Calling out to it, the spirit responds to you, almost as if willing to come forth. The task is met with very little resistance, something that doesn't happen often when dealing with things on the Astral. The spirit takes form in front of you, waiting for your request. "Yes, young one, what is it you seek?"

@J

The crane looks at the hair you presented to it, and almost instantly says "This person has already departed your world. Do you still want me to locate their remains?"

"Your wisdom on this matter was expected, yes it is her remains that I seek. They are to be destroyed by sunrise and I wish to commune with her spirit before then."

@J

The crane turns its head around a few times, visibly looking for something. Not 10 seconds later, it says "I have found her, she's not so far. Come with me and I'll take you to her."

"Thank you, do you mind if we move on this plane? I wish to bring my shell with me." J Finally made eye contact to acknowledge his answer.

"You can bring your shell, I'll guide you" says the crane and points towards the end of the alley. "That way."

"Thank you Kamisama, you honor me"

J will follow the spirits directions until he either reaches the body or is blocked from continuing. ( this includes it turning out to be  too far away to reach on foot by sun up)

@J

You set off, guided by the spirit you summoned. The crane follows you, but it doesn't seem to be moving. Rather, it appears the whole world around it is moving. After about 45 minutes (by this time 1:20), you get to a building, the street lights the only source of illumination. The building is obviously closed for the day, but you can make out in the darkness that it is a funeral home. "Strange location for a funeral home" you think to yourself, but then again nothing really surprises you in Neo-Tokyo.

Still following the spirit he lets his perception slip into the astral as they approach from afar, checking for astral security, or worse, wild spirits attracted to an unprotected building of loss and death.

Looking in the nether world, you see some wards surrounding the building, probably there to protect the deceased or at the very least to respect their privacy.

"Thank you dear Kami, this is close enough. We will need to pass through another practitioners astral wall to proceed and I do not want to wake them this late in the day."

J sends a message to the rest of the team with the address, that the placement is strange and could be relevant and that it is warded, entry on the astral would alert a security mage or spirit to an intruder.

Local Area Knowledge skill for the funeral home and its strange location. (6d6.hits(5)=1)
