I'm having a problem actually reviewing the character.  The spoiler tag is not functioning correctly.  I can scroll through half the character, but any more than that and it resets the tag and pushes me back to the top of the character.  Can you check this please?

Physical Description: Black hair, Blue eyes, average build and features except for a scar coming from one side of his mouth making him look like he always has a half cocked smile. Has darker complexion that speaks of some ethnicity but this features make it hard to put your figure on it. If it wasn't for the scar on his right check you would think he was perfect. Unknown to most the scar is not real, he puts on to help make himself distinguished as well as it makes it easy to become indistinguishable in a moments notice.

Personality/background Smiling Jack is a social chameleon, no matter the crowd he always seems to fit in. Knowing not only the right thing to say but also when to say it comes natural to Jack. The only person Jack is uncomfortable with, however, is himself. Three years ago Jack woke up in an abandoned building with no clue as to who he was. He had been striped naked by the squatters and before he could look around to get his wits a group of men came in the building to forcibly take him. It was only by chance and luck that he made his escape. The group was organ-leggers, seems the squatters wanted some quick cred. It would have been a good price too due to the cyberware he had running through his body. Jack made his way to a local free clinic and the doctor said he was suffering from amnesia from a severe blow to the head. Unable to pay Jack started working at the clinic helping repair the run down facility. Several months passed before Jack was able to make it back to the spot he woke in. The ceiling above where he woke up had collapsed and no one in the area knew anything about him. who was he? why was he here? and what was he doing? 6 months after starting to work for the Doc he contacted a regular at the clinic to get a job. The client was a fixer called Johnny Reno He saw Jack had skills and Jack needed to get back on his feet. Since Jack started working for Reno things have picked up. His talents are well payed for and life seems good on the surface, even though he still yearns to find the key to his past. Jack still visits and helps out at the clinic both financially and physically, the old troll woman he lovingly calls Soba, that runs the place is the closest thing to a mother jack has, between her and Reno they are the only true family he's got.

   Born in Denton, TX on the fringes of the DFW plex Beauregard was one of “those” meta kids. You know the one- the one who smiled through the abuse, worked twice as hard as the “normal” kids and could have been a recruiting poster for the local meta rights chapter. He went to college at the University of North Texas to study and did damn well. When he graduated he applied for and was excepted to the Texas Rangers – Law Enforcement Division.
   It was during his probationary period that everything went horribly wrong. Wet behind the ears and too trusting of the system Beauregard reported a well connected superior to Internal Affairs for corruption. Within days Beau had been framed in retaliation, arrested and convicted of bogus BTL charges. Beau did eight years in the CAS Federal Penitentiary in Huntsville Alabama. Released only months ago Beau went as far from home as his resources would carry him. 
   Destitute, Beau turned to the shadows and found that his discipline, professionalism and flexibility were enough to keep him afloat while he learned the ropes.

His father also saw to it that Eugene would have an outlook different from most trollsin that he should have an appreciation of the finer things. Appearance and Personality: Mellow for a troll, Eugene takes on a look day to day reminiscent of a Victorian Gentleman (which looks odd to those who aren't familiar with history). Quiet, reserved, he speaks usually only when he truly has something he feels is necessary to say (and then he effects a british accent (fairly well)).

Remember, you don't have to kill the vehicle to stop it, just kill the guy driving it.

Not in 5th, they have to buy them (upto or less than) there magic rating with 5 karma per point at character creation. On the flip side magic isn't split between power points and mage stuff anymore

Balance is a huge factor for Mystic Adepts. They only lose Astral Projection compared to Mages after all, and no longer have to split their Magic attribute.

First, note that RAW the cost is 2 Karma/PP. However, at least one Missions Designer here on the forum mentioned that (at least in Missions) it should be 5 Karma/PP.
That is of course a significant difference - but considering how little 12 Karma is (which is all you need to buy 6 PP if it costs 2 Karma/PP) - its barely equal to some qualities - and that that's almost the only difference that matters at character creation between Mages and Mystic Adepts, a higher price seems called for. Otherwise Mystic Adepts are vastly better than Mages at character creation - being unable to astrally project and having 12 less Karma doesn't equal the worth of 6 points of Adept powers!

Either way, the ONLY place where buying Power Points for Karma is mentioned is on page 68/71. It's not in any advancement table or other chapter than the character creation one.
To me at least, this suggests that NOT gaining free Power Points with increased Magic is supposed to be a large balancing factor for Mystic Adepts. That way, they advance equally to a Mage in Mage-abilities, but need Initiation to advance in Adept-stuff (thus gaining PP at a lower rate and having less initiation to boot).


Assuming my interpretation is correct (no PP/Karma after Chargen) and using the higher cost, a Mystic Adept is still a highly valid character concept. It's good for portraying all sorts of Magic Knights, Paladins, Shadow Assassins and other Caster/Melee // Caster/Skillful concepts you can find. It's mechanically valid if you want to complement physical skill with spellcasting, or back up your spellcasting with other competencies.
You can still do all of that - but it'll cost you enough that you won't be as good at casting spells than someone who focusses on that.



Bottom Line: In my opinion
Power Points should cost 5 Karma at Chargen for Mystic Adepts.
Mystic Adepts should not be able to buy PPs for Karma after Chargen.
Otherwise, they become too good in comparison to mages.



Uh, my bad. Obviously the wording on page 279 refers to both Adepts and Mystic Adepts - raising your Magic raises your PP.
So, disregard the above, the rules are currently clear on this.
The only thing that isn't clear is if you do not buy all the PP you could at CharGen (say, you have 5 magic but only buy 3 PP) - but i see no reason to punish a player for not doing that at CharGen.
Mind, i still think that not automatically gaining PP with Magic Increase would be nice balance-wise, but eh. The rules are currently clear on the subject.

You'll easily guess the inspiration of the character: a short man, short tempered, with some metallic skeleton and claws, who can take a beating and live up to tell the story.




Description:
Logan is a giant... for Dwarf standards that is. At 5'2" he could almost pass for a very short human. Strong and bulky, he keeps a grim look on his rarely trimmed face. He's often seen with a cigar in his mouth; it keeps him calm.

Background:


Logan entered the dive bar at the still-civilized-edge of the Barrens. It bore no name and the drinks were watered down, but he knew he could find some shadowrunners there. A few heads turned when he came in, while many just stayed on with their business or glued to the Urban Browl game going on on the old trideo sceen. Whiffs of scents were analyzed and filtered out by his olfactory booster and for a second he considered shutting it off as some odors were just unpleasants, but decided otherwise; maybe he would smell someone he had met before or someone associated with a known group.

He climbed a stool at the bar and ordered a beer. He wasn't expecting to see a human female behind the counter. She wasn't ugly but wouldn't do the cover of any magazine, even with a good few tattooes on her. He had always assumed Lara's clients were males. Lara was a stripper Logan had paid, tipped and treated pretty well since the few weeks he had been in Seattle. Many of her clients had some connections with the shadows and he had managed to learn from her about this dive, where so-called Shadowrunners would hang out or lay low, and its bartender who would sometimes put together a runner with a fixer, and who apparently liked naked women.

She obviously didn't know much about him. He's had a hard time finding jobs lately, and found out much to quickly that reputation travelled almost as fast as him on his bike. Fixers and Johnsons tended to not like working with you when you're known to leave them dead after runs. Them and fellows shadowrunners. He was indeed the sole survivor of his last three teams... But what could he do about it? That had been bad luck, that's all. The jobs they got were too much for their pitiful skills and throw in it some ego and a couple crooked fixers and you got all it takes for disaster. Logan was good at surviving disasters; the others in his teams were not.

He was also good at bringing disaster but he prefered to ignore the fact luck had never really been on his side. But maybe his general bad luck was also why few people who had heard of him ever wanted to work with him. He knew he was a good runner, the only one to think so apparently. He thought moving to a new city after the Denver debacle would help him get more jobs and away from the red zone, but it seemed bad rep was a luggage one carry with him everywhere one goes, at least in the Shadows.

The Red zone was near. He had pay for his dingy motel room for another 30 days, and he would have to sell his bike soon if he didn't want to end up in the streets. He knew who he would sell it to though. Estavio Juarez was a pretty good mechanic, and pretty much the only person Logan knew in that big city. Estavio dealt a lot with all kind of shady businesses, local gangs, organizations, and runners. He would be the one to put him in touch with the right person, but he was all about business and so far Logan never had enough to offer in exchange. All he needed was a team and a successful run. He had been made a killing machine; he had taken a burst of bullets and still managed to gut out his opponent. All he needed was another chance, and no one to upset him.
