Hmm...
I could wuss out and do it Chrona's way (starting a poll) :p

Farothel... Out of curiosity, how many (at least semi-)active PbP's are you in at the moment? (By the way, do you happen to know anyone willing to run a Pathfinder game RL of PbP?)
You know I like and respect you as a player. You're also the only real magician character that signed up and I know you're among the most active players on these forums and wouldn't have a problem taking on another.
The only reason I haven't selected you already is because there's only so many games with so many player slots and I sorta want to let other people get a chance to play, too...

Same question to all of you who aren't already selected: How many other PbP's (on this forum) are you playing in already? If you're GM-ing, mention that too.

I can get you into pathfinder PbP if you're interested
Sorry for a small delay ;)

This is starting to sound like two people who know each other.  And will never admit it.

Because of a lack of a better idea, Free Knowledge points equal to (Int + Log) x 3 seems pretty good.
Still a lot more than the zero free points karmagen gives you, no?

With so many freebies, I should probably start building some Prime Runners as opposition...

I have an idea.

Since we seem to be starting out a bit above "standard" new characters how about taking something from your "free" contacts idea.

Stay with the base (INT+LOG) x3 then add the characters highest unmodified attribute.

So in boomers case it would be (4+4) x3 +6  =30

Its a little boost that isn't that overpowering.

Not sure how to make Chummer take it.  Maybe update the karma for character gen to factor in the additional 12 karma Boomer would need for those knowledge skills.  (and they can only be used for knowledge skills)

Just a thought thrown out there to chew on.

I actually had the same idea!

But then figured you got enough freebies as is!
You want more knowledge, spend karma on it. ;)
Now stop being greedy and build your character! :p

Oh, and one more thing: I'm allowing actual skills to be treated as knowledge skills too, within reason.
Eg: If you have Demolitions 5, you don't have to buy Knowledge, Explosives to be able to tell what might've caused that explosion, to know what amount of explosives to use or to distinguish C4 from Semtex. It also helps with knowing the right place to put a bomb, though here some knowledge about architecture, vehicles, engineering or whatever fits in the situation might help too.
With a decent pistols knowledge you don't need Firearms knowledge to know stuff about how pistols or revolvers work, what their difference is etc, but still don't know squat about shotguns.

Go to tools and then options.  From there you can choose what books and optional house rules you want to include like the free knowledge points.

No problem

Xzy, you're letting Three Star continue using Blades for his Foot Anchor attacks, right?

You've been playing on this board longer than I have and never used Chummer?
I don't think I'm able to make a character without it!

It's not uncommon.  I know a lot of GMs use Daegann's, and insist their players use it.
