@Boomer

That face, that face, why is he so...
Wait, this guy is a terrorist! He's been on the news repeatedly the past couple of years, each time after terrorist attacks on megacorporation economical and industrial facilities spread across the world.
Jeff... No, Geoffrey Steiner. He's pretty much the spokesperson for TerraFirst!, an eco-terrorist group.

Rat, having enjoyed a stroll and a light chat with Syra, eventually makes his way to the middle of the clearing, seeing a familiar face sitting at the table. Boomer is already making introductions, so he gets closer and simply says "I'm Rat, but if you're the man that brought us here, you already know that."

"I am glad we finally meet. Are we to get down to business or are we changing locale again? Maybe a Diving Bell or Bathysphere next." Raising his hand to his chin and arching his back, he eyed the man before sitting down.

Boomers eyes squinted as he looked at the familiar man in front of him.  It was then that it clicked.  He recognized him, Geoffrey Steiner.  A celebrity in his own right.  One who stood up to the corps no matter who and where they were.   This was unexpected and it made him think about what he had gotten himself into.

"Well I must say that if I was to guess who the Johnson would be, it would not have been you.". He spoke aloud.   There was no malice or judgement in his voice as he was just speaking his thoughts.   "This should be interesting."

Steiner nods. "Yeah, Quinten told me some things about who he'd be bringing. And since you've gotten plenty of time to get to know each other and undoubtedly know who I am and who I represent, we don't have to waste more time on introductions."
He's annoyed at Three Star's comment and shows it. "Thanks for coming on such short notice and cooperating so well. I'm certain most of you have enough common sense to understand that, knowing my current status with the authorities and -more importantly- the sanctity of this place, I don't think security and secrecy are things to joke about."

"A man needs his privacy, I think we can all relate to that" says Rat, looking around at the others, expecting some kind of reaction. He then sits on one of the logs to make himself comfortable and reaches in for a pear, taking a bite out of it. "Let's see what the hype is with this "natural" food" thinks the ork.

Boomer didn't look at Three Star or Rat when they spoke.  Though he believed he was getting a better understanding of Star the more the human spoke.

"Like Rat said we all have some need for privacy.  Some more than others.  With that said you brought us here for a meet.  Considering what you're known for I can only imaging what you might be asking for us to do."

It was quite the evening for Syra. For most of the night, she had been feeling very uncomfortable. No, it wasn't Rat who was obviously trying to hit on her. She actually found it rather cute and decided to play along. No, it was the peaceful forest that unnerved her. Call it a spa or whatever Quinten was gushing on about, but it was unnatural to see a forest in a building, even one as realistic as this. Long lost memories of her past in the pastoral countryside surfaced, memories that she would wished would remain dormant. There was a reason her father had them move to Seattle when she was young. Even worse was the lack of any presence of the Matrix. While she did have the headjammer off her head, it was as if she was trapped in a bubble with no connection of technology. The sooner they got the job and got out, she reasoned, the better she would feel.

But all wasn't bad. Especially not with high-profile eco terrorist Geoffrey Steiner standing in front of them dressed in the same robes getting ready to explain what their job would be. Already Syra had the headlines in her head: ECO-FUGITIVE GEOFFRY STEINER HIDES IN ECO SPA.

...Well, she had all night to work on it.

Spooky stayed silent, watching the others, and got that certain sinking feeling when he saw the glint in Syra's eye.  He'd seen it before, usually in a mirror when the pieces fell together, or he'd figured out a vital clue.  The woman was either a detective or a reporter, and from the way she acted earlier, the second was more likely, which meant that what happened here might end up all over the news, if she could get it to publish.  Which made it a good thing he was using the Castle identity, if she was a technomancer.  The last thing he needed is some reporter handing Philip Lesker ties to a known terrorist.  Jake and the guys at the precinct wouldn't be able to cover for that, if he got the chance to twist the information before they found out.  The Airware's clean, no hint of an identity to it, for the time being.  Here's hoping that when we're done here, Jeff Thomas can officially die, and I can be free of that much.

"Be that as it may, Mr. Johnson, shall we get down to biz?  While I admit finding a place like this in Seattle is quite amazing, I doubt that you just want to show it off to us.

"I assure you that was not a joke. After recent event I would have understood with taking security even to those levels. Though i suppose having the meeting here gives no less a daunting location to such an impressive reputation." Three Star opened his palms towards the group. "What do you find yourself in need of outside help with?

“You don’t get it, do you? You don’t see it, smell it, feel it?”
Steiner sighs deeply with disappointment. ”You've been paid to stay inside one of the most beautiful and relaxing places on the planet, to eat food that isn’t spoiled by the modern world, not covered in pesticides, ‘enhanced’ through bioengineering, ‘boosted’ with artificial flavor or diluted with vat-grown-soy, to drink fresh herbal tea and water that is pure, mineral rich and cleansed through earth, rock, leaf and root instead of chemical treatments.
The best and purest of nature surrounds you. Plants and animals so rare on this planet to the point of extinction and food which is, ironically, now available only to the few, the rich and powerful who earned their wealth and power by polluting, corrupting and destroying the very planet which made this possible through millions of years of evolution instead of growing them as quickly as possible inside a sterile laboratory.
And still, you… You just can’t wait to get it over with this quickly enough.”

He seems genuinely upset. Not angry at you but at a world where your behavior and reactions are even possible.
"But very well. I understand I can't expect you to understand the war we are fighting or to share our vision and goals, even if it is in the benefit of the planet and everyone on it."
He leans forward. "I do, however, need you to understand the importance of this task. We do not normally outsource our attacks... and this is quite a big one. But the circumstances simply leave us no choice. However, we can not risk any of you jeopardizing this mission. Quinten did inform you of the... 'precautions' that we'll need to take if you choose not to accept? And you all agree to them?"

"Virgin food, huh?" thinks Rat as he's eating the pear. "It's good, but I don't get why everyone is going crazy about this." A lifetime of soy and krill had dulled the ork's palate to a point where he actually thought fresh fruit tasted exotic.

"We're all aware of the "precautions", omae. All this fresh stuff is just wasted on a low-life like me, so what is it you need us to do?" asks Rat as he finishes the pear he was eating.

"I don't think you quite get it,Mr. Johnson." Spooky said, looking at the man evenly, "We agreed to your protocols and would love to spend more time in this paradise.  Unfortunately, we live in a world where paradise is a luxury we can't afford.  Seeing this place, I understand the reasons for the protocols.  But there are things that need to be done out in the real world that we have to live in.  It's not that we don't care.  It's that being here, seeing such wonder and beauty around, we know there's no place for us in it.  That's the sad fact of utopia.  There's no place for people like us in it, and some of us are rather good at being who we are.  There's a reason we aren't in the corps, and it's because their sterile perfection has little room for people to be people.Your job might help make the world a slightly better place, and that is something we cherish, when the chance comes around.  But your are hiring professionals in violence and information managing.  If your run looks to be a total screw-up from start to finish, we reserve the right to take option B and walk away poorer.  If you plan to micromanage how we do your run, we will choose option B.

He looked at the others, and then continued on, ""So, do we have an understanding on that matter?"

Steiner shakes his head slowly. "Sometimes, this world makes me feel like I was born in the wrong time... But very well then, let's get down to business and have you back on your way towards the pillars of concrete and plastic where you feel more at home."
He reaches down to grab a suitcase and opens it in order to pull out a large piece of paper. While some of you wonder how long it's been since you've seen something on actual paper instead of e-paper, hologram or AR-display, he unfolds it and puts a large map on the table. The map shows a small city built on the north part of an island around two (or three, depending who you ask) large bays with a very big building -think small arcology- in its center.
"Charlotteville, Tobago. A brand new city, planted there by two mega corporations as a PR stunt and luxury resort for their employees. I want it wiped off the map."
He looks up from the map and studies your faces.
