That sounds like it comes from personal experience?

It is few moments before she turns back to you with a flat expression. She starts to speak, but then merely shrugs. After a few more moments of silence, she speaks in a level voice.

So we got a deal or not? I can get to your rig on Friday.

Sorry, I didn't mean to pry. Do the bushmen tend to hang out anywhere specific when they're in town? I'd like to touch base with them before we head out, get the lay of the land yeah?
As for the deal, Friday is pushing it a bit, we need to be heading out by then. Any chance you can slot us in any earlier than that?

For those leaving the cafe for the docks
You finish of your modest breakfasts and pay your bills. The sun is in your faces as you head out the door of the cafe and head off towards the international port on foot. As you draw closer to one of the few avenues into the kilometers long shipping port, the level of passing traffic increases slightly, mostly heavy vehicles, distinguishable from one another only by the corporate logos on their sides, hauling bulk cargos to, and occasionally from, the docks. Other than yourselves, you see few people traveling the area on foot. The few you pass appear to be weary eyed sailors, returning to their various ships from a late night spent ashore.
As you turn along one of the avenues, a gatehouse in the fenced enclosure is visible a few blocks ahead.

Some of them hang out at Kukanyagana. Not a place for an outsider to go though. They'd pick you out in a heartbeat. As for the work...She pauses a moment, considering... I could maybe work ya in if ya want, but it would cost. I'm in demand. Bushrunners always on the go, hate waiting. She flashes a smile.Course, ya could do the work youselves, if you just want the parts, but wouldn't go recommending it. I's the best wrench around after all.

Johannes looked at Frenchy and gave him the nod.
He mentally called forth an AR message terminal:
//To:Team//<<Found out about a bar where the bushmen hang out when they're in town. Sounds like they prefer talking to the natives but it'd be a good idea to check it out before we go. Might get some good intel.
Place is called "Kukanyagana">>

Frenchy purses his lips and shrugs. The price still seems a bit high. It's not like we're looking for munitions or something that could bounce back on you. Frenchy smiles broadly, his teeth are gleaming, but crooked contrasting oddly with his weather worn face and travel stained clothes. Maybe you could comp the install?

That's not gonna work out. Can't consider letting word get around that I am allowin freebies or else I'll have to close up shop. She sticks her hands into the pockets of her coveralls, and pauses for a moment. Tell ya what, since you boys are in such a hurry. If you think you are up to it, I'll let ya use the spare lift for 100 nuyen and ya can do the work yerselves. Worth it I guess to save me the hassle of pissin off the rest of my clientele. She withdraws her right hand from her pocket and wipes it along her coverall (not that it does anything to remove the grime) before sticking it out. Deal?

Alexander walked through the docks, back straight and eyes forward in his weathered Actioneer. Already he was beginning to sweat again, but he made his best effort to look like he knew where he was going. Everything about this continent was strange to him, and he was still getting his footing, but he was trying very hard not to look like a bumbling American.

After observing and drinking in the bustle of the docks for a few minutes, he walked up to one of the weary looking sailors and introduced himself. "Hey man," he said with a casual smile. "You heading back out this morning?"

Around this time, Alexander's commlink chirped with Ultra's message. He read it briefly through the cramped window of his comm. Since it was unfriendly to foreigners, it likely wouldn't be a great hangout for him personally, but it was still worth checking out. He made a note of it later.

Taking a second to think it out, Johannes replied and shook on the deal:
"Ok, sounds fair. we'll do that"

Mutumbo replied to Ultra’s message. >>Can check the place if you tell me what you want to know. Anyone care to join?<<

He called up a quick matrix search to get the public data about the place. He thought about what little he knew about the city, about what kind of neighborhood the Kukanyagana was in.
Matrix search: INT(5) – defaulting Computer(1) [Data Processing(3)]; I’d like to buy 1 hit to get the basic public info.
Area knowledge: INT(5) + Area knowledge: Mombasa(1) [Mental(4)] (6d6.hits(6)=2) (actually 3 hits, just wrote hits(6) accidentally)
Gangs: INT(5) + Street gangs(1) [Mental(4)] (6d6.hits(5)=1)
//Great stuff, see if you can find out where the borders lie and who the main players are. Any justification for a researcher to head out there would be great too. Keep your wits about you as I didn't get the impression it was just a friendly little restaurant//

Sounds good. Pull 'er in then so I can lift 'er up and get back to work. She moves across the garage and activates the controls to open the door to the third bay.

The man you have singled out is alone and dressed plainly in garments of a heavy weave. He jumps slightly at your words. As he stops, you note a dull shine to his heavily lidded eyes.
He focuses on you, studying you for a moment before responding in halting English.
That's not up to me mista. Depends on when the cargo is loaded. As he finishes, he quickly retreats, heading towards the enclosure ahead.
