Greeting Chummers
I'm trying to write my own little run here, and i thought i might pick your brains a little for some suggestions.....
First I will explain what I'm planning. The run is basically a cross country run from Sydney Australia to Perth Australia (a small distance of just under 4,000 km, according to Google maps it should only take 40 hours or so, but that's on reasonably maintained roads), my first question for people is where can i find more information on the land down under ?

Now the only rule for the whole race is that once you cross the start line everything is fair game including killing people till you cross the finish line, with no legal repercussions what so ever (people who live in the race path have been evacuated or are willing to take their chances with the rules). I thought about using just bikes and vans as transports (Off road bikes and Tata Hotspur for the vans), what do you think of that ?  And how should i outfit these vehicles, aside from the extreme environment mod, and i have decided that the weapon mounts will only take up to HMG or grenade launchers, otherwise it will just be too easy to my mind, or is there a convincing argument to just go all out with the weapons ?

The only other question i have is can people make suggestions as to what are some good anti vehicle spells ?  I'm thinking that some of the locals might just see people racing thru the outback as a good way to get some better gear..

Thanks in advance
Hellion

So I guess your idea is that Mad Max meets Shadowrun...

My suggestion is to check out the Variety Club of Australia site for their Bush Bash events raising money for charity. The entrants usually have some beat-up old vehicle with lots of interesting mods. Several passengers and costumes seem to be a must.

Link if permitted:

Sample Pics:

Here's a couple of the Variety Bash rules:
1. Each vehicle entered must be manufactured at least 30 years ago.
2. Vehicle engines shall not be a later model or larger capacity than that permitted for that model vehicle.

Hope this helps with your concept.
