Deet nods his thanks, spotting the newly formed ice sheet covering the junction ahead.
He hankers on to the brakes, causing the other lads to follow suit, throwing your weight forwards as the prow of the custom bike dives under heavy braking. Your chin bounces off the back of Deet's skid-lid, and you can taste the metallic tang of blood as you bite a chunk out of your inside lip.
He breaks left, gesturing to the others to go around. He slows down, lines up to the decrepit pedestrian junction as a break-gap in the otherwise unforgiving kerb lining the boulevard.
Once aligned, he guns it, grabbing some air and landing heavily into the side street riding away from the junction. The Serpents ahead of you tear ahead, chasing down the front runners of your formation, laughing and cackling maniacally at you for falling behind.
Deet guns the throttle and lights up the rear tire, the sound of tearing steel on concrete lets you know that at least one of the lads following you didn't make the awkward jump-come-turn, but the re-assuring roar of Harley engines behind lets you know that at least some of them did.
Regaining your balance on the seat, you hurl a fusillade of destructive energy at the serpent mage.
He parries the first one easily,
dispelling (10d6.hits(5)=5) but the link is broken to your target by the crumbling commercial unit on the corner of the junction, the bolt sailing harmlessly off into the aether.
Turning to face Deet's direction of travel, you see you're now heading towards a more residential area, abandoned commercial units and crumbling remains of cheap housing are interspersed down the street at regular intervals.
Everything is hugely overgrown, trees puncturing their way through roofs, gardens becoming jungles. This place looked like something out of an old sci-fi trid from 70 years ago. A t-junction lays ahead, Deet positions far to the left of the broken road surface, dropping the ridiculously bulky Harley over on its right and aims for the apex, the sound of squealing rubber behind lets you know that the others are prepping for the same aggressive turn.
Perception test please!
