You headed out of the dock area, Miko somewhat ahead with the bike, the others checking their bodies and feelings for any kind of hurt but finding little. Leroy just started to laugh on the back seat, joking about how this was a piece of cake.
—Miko—
You passed one a smaller side street with lighting mostly out, keeping yourself safely within the speed limit, when you heard the revving of bike engines from your left side, and sensed that multiple headlights were turned on behind you. Screeching tires signaled that someone took a sudden start, then you heard angry shouts and more tire-screams. When you looked back you saw that your companions just passed the alley in the car, and at the same time, some none-too-small trolls on bikes and in the colors of the Spikes came to a halt not to collide with the car. Matt barely avoided the collision by pulling sharply to the right.
—the car—
Matt barely had time to react as the headlights suddenly appeared on his right. For the fraction of a second, everything was unnaturally clear. Half a dozen bikers hit the break with a mixture of panicked and angry expressions. You pulled sharply to the right to avoid collision with the one in front of the others and your gazes locked for a moment. You saw shock change into anger, as if you took away the favorite bunny from a child. Unfortunately these children were 7-to-8-feel trolls on bikes, in the colors of the Spikes. And as time jumped back to normal speed, you noticed in the rear cameras that the bikes started to give chase and somehow you were sure that they wouldn’t be worrying about speed limits and whatnot.
