Doesn't need Hand of God. The grenade does 10 or 12 damage, neither one is enough to kill a tricked out troll even BEFORE he rolls damage soak.

And there is something very wrong about that fact.

Well, I consider Insta Kills for Player Chars for something very wrong. After all its a Game and meant to be Fun.
And  Insta Kills might be Fun for NSCs but (ImO) not for PCs

with an Insta Dance
Medicineman
I'm pretty sure that if a PC manages to stuff a grenade down an enemy throlls throught I would allow a instant kill 8)

To everyone talking RAW about my grenade in the mouth thing: I err a lot on the side of realism when it comes to stuff like that.  But even in RAW it could.  No armor would apply and it would very likely get a big helping of bonus dice due to the fact that it's jammed in his mouth.  But however you go, if you're a PC and you let someone jam a grenade in your mouth, you deserve to die.

Don't forget the chunky salsa effect if it doesn't blow his head off. If his head is still intact, it turns around in all directions, having travelled 0 meters, impacting him again, so, it bounced off the ceiling (head), all four walls (teeth, right cheek, left cheek, back of throat) and the floor (tongue).

Having traveled 0 meters before turning around in each direction, that means that you're looking at Base DV (say 10), plus 6 times Base DV (60).  ;D

He can, of course, hand of god to spit it out at the last possible second.

So, right.  House rules.  Like we said.

*shrugs*

Not that it's a huge issue, or terribly on-topic anyways, but yeah.

*shrugs*  That's what house rules are for: fixing things in the RAW that make no sense.

Oh, that's the silver rule, actually. The golden rule is 'fun first, rules second'.

Indeed.  Which is why I have my "This session sucks and went south.  RESET!" rule.

Try a 'Directors Cut', and describe how their characters (actually actors) have to redo the whole thing, because their director didn't like how the story unfolds, and demanded, script modifications. :P

Nah.  More like everything goes awry due to crappy, crappy die rolls from the players and really, really good rolls for the NPCs resulting in a whole lot of frustration, swearing, and die throwing.  RESET!

I started doing it after like the fifth game in which the players didn't roll higher than a 3 for most of their rolls and the rolls for the NPCs were practically nothing but 5s and 6s.  Gets frustrating and makes people want to quit.  Thus I just reset the whole thing and call a do-over.

A little OT:
Well, we had problems like this in our Earthdawn games, as our GM tends to roll high (and ED has 'exploding dice'). Sometimes insanely high. Now, imagine the average difficulty of 12 on our circles, and enemies roll around 30-40 on attack. It means both no armor and no real chance of defending yourself. And the enemy gets a guaranteed amount of damage done equal to the dice step(around 15 usually)... It's not fun... But when after a whole streak of getting your ass kicked you start rolling epic results. That's fun. Imagine, when you run from a huge Horror construct you shouldn't even scratch, and fling a spell to slow it down... And it hits. And it hurts it.
In SR Edge is something that lets you do things like that. Karma in ED is just a shade of it, a different kind of help.
So, reseting a failed game that was no fun at all is possible. Once. After that, it's just Save&Restore. I can get that in most cRPG's.
