Are there any books out there that give a detailed glimpse into a big corporate building? So far I've kept my players on a more street level campaign, but I'm wanting to bump them up the food chain soon and I thought it might be useful if there was some text somewhere that would provide some details about the inner workings of your typical Mega Corp building (layout schematics, security info, etc).

There's always one PC who just can't go with the flow.  They have to have something that sets them apart.  Something blatantly obvious to everyone who plays with them.

Maybe this may help?

Aaron has always been an awesome source of SR info....

But really, if you want info that can help you out, just google or drop by any major office complex in your home town and observe how and what goes down... Then dial up the paranoia and security :D

Some tips to remember:

1: Security has to be user friendly to be effective. The more the security interferes with normal operations, the more likely employees are to ignore or bypass it for their own ease of life.

2: Not every building is going to be "guarded to the gills"... Manpower costs major money... but so does tech and magic..... So companies look for a happy medium between Cost and Effectiveness. Sometimes that is a single guard at a desk and maglock key readers on every major door.... Other times that is roving drones, spirits and HTR teams 3 minutes away..

3: "Top Secret" facilities also mean no extra-territoriality... which means any security is going to be tight... but also hidden as the corp can't employ all their usual tricks :P
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

Remember: You can't fix Stupid. But you can beat on it with a 2x4 until it smartens up! Or dies.

Hoi!

On the security I recommend you check:
In the Splintered State adventure, the last scene details all the security for a huge corp headquarters, along with some maps.
And in the new supplement - Coyotes - there are very detailed write ups of security checkpoints of Arcologies and general corp buildings.
