Hi runners!

I'm going to be running a 4 hour, one shot Shadowrun campaign with one player in two days. My player is an old veteran of Shadowrun (we are playing 3rd edition), and knows how to make a character of great depth and great stats. He' s thinking about a troll of some kind, maybe a street tough or a decker. He doesn't like the matrix as written in 3rd ed, so decker is less likely. I am also trying to avoid too much magic, unless its the kind of magical stuff a troll bruiser can deal with.

I need a simple plot that can be resolved quickly, but still be neat. Here's what I was thinking.

A street samurai, too old to fight but too stubborn to forfeit, is challenged to a duel by some Yakuza hothead. The family member of the old samurai hires our Troll street tough to fight in the old sword's stead, even if that means tying the old man to a chair. Naturally, the old samurai couldn't possibly stand for this, and the Yak probably will either raise some sort of objection (probably becuase the troll looks tougher than an old man with outdated cyber) or get stupid and try to fight the troll anyway. Samurai might get out of his bonds mid-fight and try to wup all their asses  ;D

A mega corp needs to acquire a big chunk of property, and there are a few annoying hold outs who don't like the chump change they have been offered to buy their property. So, a corp pawn has hired a decker to take the holdouts property tax payments and with hold them from the county for a year. As soon as the properties were sold on the courthouse steps, the corps bought them up and are now evicting each property owner. And they would have got away with it too, if it weren't for the fact that the corper didn't do his homework and decided to try to buy out property owned by the Halloweeners (or similar gang). After getting detailed death threats, the corp scum hires the troll to protect him.

A non-profit pro-Troll lobby needs one of their own rescued from a wilderness death camp, and hire the Troll bruiser to bust him out. When he gets there though, it turns out that the mark wasn't kidnapped and he is not staying at a wilderness death camp, but instead was hiding in a NA owned fortress. The mark was a treasurer of the non-profit, and found out that the non-profit had made an alliance with a terrorist group and has plans to blow up a sports stadium full of people, while a prominent anti-troll bigot was there enjoying the game. The treasurer encrypted the non-profits servers and stole the detonators to the bombs, and his non-profit wants him back to get the passwords (and for a little revenge). If the troll bruiser takes the risk and goes with him, the treasurer can pay him through the non-profits accounts for "services rendered" .

What do yall think? Which one do you think would make the best solo session? Feel free to use any of those ideas for your games. Thanks!

This is the one I prefer:

There is just something awesome about seeing a troll in the jungle fighting some kind of critter. Also that plot has a moral dilema and the player could choose many different ways to resolve this.

Good work.
Chaos? Lack of protection? Enemies lurking in the shadows? Sounds
to me like the fun’s just beginning. Sorry you’ll miss it, omae.
