I was creating a few NPCs for a game set in 2075 and I was considering creating an ork or troll who was among the first to goblinize. However, I'm not sure if that is possible.

"The first orks of the sixth World emerged during the Unexplained Genetic Expression in the year 2021 as either young humans changed to orks or ones born as orks from human parents."

53 years is a very long time for orks and trolls. Is it possible that anyone who was old enough to remember the transformation into an ork or troll is still alive?

According to the book Never Trust an Elf those who goblinized live as long as normal humans the leader of the underground at the time looks fine at ~50 while his daughter (born an orc) looks decrepit at 30.

so yes, you could have an old orc that is still alive if he goblinized.

I thought the novels mentioned something about orks living as long as humans, but the core books peg orks are dying from old age in the 30's through their 50's, varying by edition. 5th edition says they have shorter lifespans than humans, but isn't specific.

I haven't read asl the novels (I'm working my way through them in order so I don't know, The only thing I can do is repeat what I read and that the wiki summarizes the scene in Never Trust an Elf like this:

People who are born human but goblinize into an ork or troll still live out a normal human lifespan (average 75 years). People who are born ork or troll live the lifespan allotted to that metatype (average 50 years for a troll, 35–40 years for an ork). Kham's grandfather, Harry, was born before the turn of the century and "went ork" on Goblinization Day (30 April 2021). In his sixities, he's still reasonably vigorous. His daughter Sarah (Kham's mother), born ork, is decrepit and senile at thirty-five.

So if you had a character born in 2008 they would goblinize right around 13 and be in his late sixties during 2075.

Now that's an interesting quirk, the aging working differently for those who goblinized and those born ork and troll. Good find, thanks!

Not just the novels.  It is acknowledged in Elven Fire.  The write up of Koren Thark around page 55 mentions that he was normal before Goblinizing and has a human lifespan.

It is good to know that the rules mesh with the novels, but I know have two questions What is Elven Fire and who is Koren Thark?

Elven Fire is a classic SR adventure from 90-91 that serves to flesh out the Ancients and gang wars in Seattle as well as the connection in that era to the Tir. It is a prequel to the excellent 4th Ed adventure/campaign Elven Blood that fleshes out the Tir for the 4th Ed.

Koren Thark was a troll Star Detective who actually cares about Seattle and is trying to head off a gang war.  He enlists the PCs help as I recall.
