The old version of Sleeping Tiger was a borderline garish suit that probably was meant to make fun of the terrible, terrible state of men's fashion in the early 90s.

But since my character is planning on buying one asap, I've refluffed it to a generic dark gray suit  8)

Yeah, I mean I want to buy the suit because it does offer nice protection, but I'd rather not wear an ugly suit. Looks matter when I buy in game clothing. I really wish we had more descriptions on the outfits.

Because there are so many different manufacturers and so many styles within each line, within the general outlnes given they can look like almost everything.  Think of the breadth of styles that are available today.  Even something as simple as an "Armani suit" could come in a half-dozen styles and colors, just in one year's line.  Then add in print-on-demand manufacturing and a single designer can offer a single outfit in 20 colors and a dozen slightly different styles.  Remember each of the items listed in the rules are a single archetypal example of that item in the world, not the only brand and model available that has that particular abstracted stat line.

If you like the Mortimer of London greatcoat, but it doesn't make sense that your Russian sniper would wear a classic English coat, you can take the same stats, the same cost and say it is a classic Russian-military-inspired greatcoat from Poustovit of Vladivostock.  As far as the abstract rules are concerned, they are identical, even if as far as your character is concerned they couldn't be more different.

+1 to Anarkitty.  I was about to write something similar, but you did it better and faster.  Like a Daft Punk song.

Agreed with the importance of refluffing.  Plus, considering I anticipate 90+% of runners using Sleeping Tiger for their everyday kit, it will become de facto fashionable.

> Shiawase brought back the Sleeping Tiger line, but word on the street is they put a hell of a lot more nuyen into R&D than they will ever earn back from the armor. The new incarnation builds from the foundation created by the old with an upgraded color-change system and even an adaptive camouflage feature for the right price.  I can guarantee that they’re exploring other uses for this technology.

The equipment has a color-change system along with the Ruthenium Polymers.

Don't forget the required Katana as part of modern Shadowrunner chic.  Even the Decker needs one!

Yeah I understand how refluffling things work, I just want to know what I'm refluffing. Is it a suit? Is it a jogging outfit? A trench coat? Pajamas? The only thing the book tells me is that it's color changing. I personally like things for more then just stat blocks, I like to pick things that I think look cool as well. If the stats in the book are going to be for an archetypical example, I'd like to know what they want that archetype to be.

Thinking about this, how much of the body does sleeping tiger cover so that we can figure out all the modifiers needed for RPC?

If one player fluffs it as looking like a shinobi shōzoku and another as a regular business suit and a third thinks it should look like a Angus Young's school boy outfit could get annoying for people playing Mission with different GMs. FUll benefits of the armor could vary by GM.

I was actually hoping to see a return of the vibro-knife and vibro-sword, but unfortunately they got left out. :'(

It's a suit.  Granted, I wouldn't wear it for business, but collar to wrist/ankles is what you're looking at.

Sleeping Tiger last appeared in the SR3 Cannon Companion.  In 2060 it was a modern executive business suit with a quasi-street tough look; power ties, high collars and all the accoutrements of the underground.  I imagine it as Yakuza-chic, although technically it was more for Orks and Trolls trying to 'move up' or sararimen slumming it in tourist-ville.  Of course, that was 15 years ago in game time, so what it looks like now is anyone's guess.
