O'Connor nodded to Clem, grateful that at least one person was listening. He sent her a quick text, <Recipient: Clem | Text: Would you happen to be that someone with tactical knowledge? It ain't gonna be any of the rest of us.> He grinned widely as Sammy described the LA runner scene, "So flashy is the name of the game?"

Clem, not being the leader type at all, was perplexed after reading O'Connor's message. They either continued to run around like headless chicken during fights, or she had to step up and organize the team when things got hairy. She poured herself another glass of beer, giving herself some time to think about this issue. She didn't have any tactical training per say, but she was well versed in security design in general, which would go some way into focusing the runners' efforts. "Alright said the ork as she took a sip of her beer, if nobody objects, I'll call it when we have to get physical, but I need everyone's cooperation." Clem made sure to look at O'Connor for the last part of her announcement.

O'Connor gave Clem a nod in the affirmative and sent her a quick text, <Recipient: Clem | Text: I'm the one that asked you.>

Glad that question was settled, Clem sat back in her chair and got back to the Pito subject. "So if I am getting this straight, the point is to get NOTICED when you run in LA?"

"In a way," Sammy said, "you have to protect your identity or the police will come knocking at your door, but yes, in LA you have a lot more PR to do than in Seattle.  There are even runners who have their exploits filmed by official movie companies, with contracts and all that.  I used to follow some of those feeds when I was in LA, I'll try to dig some up and send you the links so you get an idea on how it goes.  I wouldn't recommend we do that, but it gives you an idea on what's going on.  I think we can start out without live feeds in the beginning, just resume's after the run, but we have to do something like that.  I think however it's best if Sam and myself, with some help from our hacker for the edits and stuff, take care of that part.  You can be the brooding street sammie's who don't talk much."

O'Connor found Sammy's description of Pito and the L.A. runner scene both intriguing and baffling. He poured himself a refill, and frowned at the lowness of the pitcher. He remedied the situation with an order for another for their table and one for the stuntmen. He asked Sammy, "Is there any other major ways running is different down there?"

"You mean besides going against every runner instinct I have?" sarcastically said Clementine to O'Connor's question. The ork was still somewhat shocked by the differences between Seattle and LA, but she wanted to know if there was anything else she needed to be aware of.

"Not really," Sammy said, "People will be a bit more flashy than you're used to here, but that's about it.  They will still demand value for their money and they also don't want too much collateral damage, at least the corporate Johnsons.  And if you take some precautions to hide your real identity, it's not all the difficult."

O'Connor nodded, "Good to know." He addressed the whole group, "Well that covers the two biggest things going forward. Anything else?"

Clem simply shrugged, indicating that she had nothing else she needed to bring up with the rest of the group. She looked around to the other runners, looking if anyone had anything to say.

She also took a peek at the stunt men's table. She didn't feel compelled to congratulate them or even give them a thumbs up for their part in the fight, but even she could recognize it had probably been a shocking experience for them. She watched as they drank themselves silly and laughed with one another, and wondered what it felt like to be so oblivious to what really drove the world.

"Only some things about matrix security and communications," Sammy said, "but that I have to discuss with the new matrix specialist.  I will also sent a message to a friend of mine here and in LA to see if that mage that attacked us is known.  But I'll do that later at home.  I have a picture taken from my goggle camera, but if someone has a better one."

She sent a picture she had selected from the footage of the fight her camera had taken.  The mage was recognizable, but that was about everything as both he and she had been moving.

The following day Sammy spent with packing and making comm calls.  First she contacted James Dermott, asking him if he knew the mage in the picture and also to check up on Marcus from time to time while she was in LA.  He promised to do the latter and to look into the former, as he didn't know the guy himself.  She also sent the picture to Melissa in LA, in case he was linked to someone there.  In fact, most of the day was spent with Marcus to make him understand that he would have to stay on his own for some time while she was on a run.  It wasn't the first time and he liked James, so she didn't expect too many problems.  She also thought to sent a message to 'The Club' to request their address in LA, provided they had one and to tell them she would be in Tinseltown for some time.

She didn't have much for the 'special delivery' box.  Only her pistol, ammo, her knife and her katana.  Her taser she would put in her checked-in luggage, as it was legal to have one.  Her foci looked like jewelry and as long as she didn't activate them, they would be very difficult to check and besides, they were also legal, or at least she had a license for them.  Most of her luggage allowance went to her clothes, her medkit and a large make-up bag (disguise kit in disguise).

She made sure she was at the airport quite in advance.  It wouldn't do to be late.

After finishing business with the team, and having a final round of shots with the stunt guys, O'Connor headed to Darrell's to buy stick-n-shock rounds for his guns and to check up on the projects he'd commissioned. While on-route, he sent Clem a text, <[Recipient: Clem | Text]: Wasn't  planning on bringing all that up, and then dumping all the responsibility on you. But you saw how good I was at getting the others engaged in a talk about how not to die. Anyhow, I got your back on this.> Darrell gave O'Connor a very quizzical look after he got to the gun shop, and told Darrell what he was there to buy, "Ya know zap rounds are non-lethal, right?" O'Connor gave his signature wolfish grin, "Not if ya use enough." After laughing at his own joke, O'Connor told Darrell about the job and that he was gonna be in L.A. for a bit. Darrell busted up laughing, barely able to form words, "You...Tinseltown...what I'd pay...to...to see that." O'Connor glared at Darrell, "Asshole." He then collected his own order while Darrell regained his composure.

Packing was a very simple process for O'Connor. He grabbed a week's worth of clothing and stuffed them, along with the obvious odds and ends, into a duffle bag. He looked his armored jacket over and sighed. The jacket, deliberately, marked him as a denizen of the Barrens, and he knew that was only gonna cause him problems at the airport alone, not to mention Los Angeles. He needed armor that wouldn't mark him for what he was, so he reluctantly had to leave Redmond and make a return trip to the mall. He was very much out of place there, and he felt every bit of it. He walked into the first store he saw that sold armored clothing. The store employees instantly went into loss prevention mode. He mentally rolled his eyes when one of the associates, a blonde human girl that didn't look a day over 17, began using customer service as an excuse to make sure he didn't nab anything. He gave her distracted and clipped answers as he looked over the selection. He settled on a double-breasted jacket with oversized lapels. After making sure it fit okay, he quickly paid and left. Both parties were glad to be rid of the other.

He decided to only pack one pistol, a machine pistol, and the assault rifle, and all necessary ammo, into the team's case. Not really knowing how the whole airport thing worked, O'Connor made sure to be there with plenty of time to spare.

Clem went straight home after they were done with business at the bar, declining the invitation for shots with the stuntmen. She decided she had had enough to drink for one night. On her way back home, she debated whether to spend the night packing or calling Mathew. It had been a while since they had last met and she didn't know when she would be back in Seattle. She sent a quick message, telling him she wanted to meet tonight for some business. Before arriving home, her commlink told her she had received a message. She had been somewhat excited by the incoming message, but soon calmed down when she saw the sender was O'Connor.

She would have never thought in a million years that the psychopath of the group would be the member she identified with the most. As opposite as he was to Clem, in a sense he was scarily similar to her too. She quickly shaked the thought from her mind and got to packing for her trip. She would bring some clothes and her usual armour, but this time she would also bring her guns and her sword. She packed everything in 2 different bags: the normal, inconspicuous things in one bag, the illegal stuff in another.

After she had finished packing and taken a shower, she got a message that simply read "Savannah, 2045." That was what the ork had been waiting for all night. She quickly put something on, brought her handgun with her and left her apartment. She would have to leave early enough to come back, get changed and pick up her luggage before going to the airport, but that wouldn't be a problem. Maybe it was the fact that it was the only meaningful romantic relationship she had ever had, or maybe it was because she didn't feel close to anyone else anymore. Whatever the reason, it was hard for Clementine to let go of Mat. When she opened door 2045, any concerns she might have had about her current job quickly faded away as she quietly slipped into the room, closing and locking the door behind her.

The next day, when Clem arrived at the airport, she promptly spotted Sammy and O'Connor. There was a definite warm glow to the usually cold ork as she organized her things and got ready for their trip.

While she wasn't as good as Torley in recognising non-verbal clues, Sammy did know a couple of things about women, being one.
"So, who's the lucky guy," she whispered to Clem when O'Connor was a bit away checking something.
