the rolls and the multiple rolls on PbP, sometimes its used as an expedient to speed up the game process, also on page 49 of the sourcebook there is the "trying again" entry, it allows to make another roll on a failed test a --2 penalty to the pool or a brand new test after a certain (GM discretion i think) amount of time, IMO that was not a failed test, as the objective we to spot information (she did not glitch and she got information, just not as much as she wanted)
Generally if i think (as a GM) the case deserves a penalty (during combat) and the player forgets to apply the penalty i just disconsider the last 2 rolls on the orokos site.
On non combat situation, i was assuming (assuming is bad and i should have cleared is with you, my bad again
) that after getting some info and wanting more info you would use the information at your discretion (number of rolls, situation where the rolls where made,time lapse, etc etc) and give the feedback (post) taking all those considerations on your side thus decreasing the number os posts made (back and forth for "small" actions)
don't know if i am making myself clear... but whatever you decide ill abide by it, there is GOD up above (pun intended for Grid Overwatch Division) and above him there is the GM
PS:all of those rolls are for matrix perception to gather information on the host.
PPS: on the meat side intel, there was something i needed to clear with you, aside from the matrix perception roll near the meat, do you think possible to admit that she can have a video feed (real time) of what happens in front of her eyes? i know its actually not described in the rules (i think) and i dont know if this subject has been discussed, the question can also be, does one close the eyes when you go into VR? if not, is it possible to stream the eye feed through the DNI and have a pop screen in the persona visual display? its your pick m8, i will be ok with whatever call you want to make on these and the former issues.
PPPS: just noticed one thing, after editing i did not shut down the silent mode, so i have a 9d6 for the perception roll -2 from noise(-4 noise +2 noise scrubber) and before the edit it was assuming +2 from hot-sim VR and -2 from running silent, giving it a 7d6 pool, the roll assumed i had shutdown the silent mode (which i didn't after the edit) , i can do one of these 2:
1 - reroll again
2 - you disconsider the last 2 dice on the roll, none of them are hits on all 3 rolls.
PPPPS: about spotting, that particular entry is referring to icons, if i recall hosts can be seen from anywhere, eyesore ftw
