@Poindexter Unless I am wrong I'd imagine you can broadcast your commlink code or not? I'm no matrix expert but I am assuming how this would work. Of course if you have their commcode you can just message them similar to any mobile phone. Does anyone else have input here?

I'll let you guys discuss and decide what you want to do next and ask Andy for anything specific you need. The rate that Andy offered took in to consideration Trance's negotiation check.

Gear is going to be pretty simple at this stage. Cheshire would be able to make out on the map approximately where the chemical attack was, it's a relatively small area near the boat ramp, just unfortunate the KE set up their tent close by.

Ah, I misunderstood then, figured it was 3.5, 3.5 and 3.5.  Slim is totally okay with that payout. Do you want me to edit the post? Or Andy just rejects the negotiation, whatever works.

I have a feeling that Duck and Slim will continue to get along like a house on fire :D

re: Commcodes.
I'd figure that people would have to share them in some way, besides several of the people at the meeting are running theirs silent so they'd probably be harder to get anyway. Then again SPAM AROs can attack you as you're just walking around, maybe other people can ping your comm like them. The future is hard.

@Slim You guys actually did really well on your negotiation roll (and I rolled crap) so leave it as is, I may throw in a few things due to the good roll.

How do you guys want to handle splitting up? I am happy to keep multiple threads open, the biggest issues I can see is if one set of runners are sleeping while another is off gathering intel. Be a bit rough to leave you guys out while I run through with half the guys. Also with the pace of PbP it could mean periods with no chance to post.

@Poindexter You would have noticed the focus has switched to the gang and bridge, away from the kids. However you do realise Andy did note the kids to yourself and Cheshire. Priorities... so you can play that out however you like :)

well, right now, duck knows he's in over his head. He's gonna need a team to find those girls and get em out in one piece. So, this team ain't EXACTLY on the same job as him, it's gathering info on the same group he needs to gather info on, so it's close enough. The goals of the team will probably stay in line with his own goals for the foreseeable future, so it shouldn't be a problem. And if it becomes one, well, he's the one behind the wheel in a very literal sense. Not to mention he could USE the money.

As for taking out the gang leader, Duck is willing to play along for now, but he aint no hitman. If this dude NEEDS to get taken out, those types of things have a way of happening on their own, and if it happens, duck aint gonna sneeze at extra money. Not to mention, who the fuck is behind Andy and who's behind the mongrels? Duck knows enough about the world to know people are often duped into working against their own long term best interests in exchange for a temporary leg up on today's problems. He doesn't intend to be one of those duped.

as for splitting up, i don't think we should do it much, and when we do, very breifly. There will be times, where it will be unavoidable. (VR, astral plane, sneak in solo to let the team in the back, etc) but that's just the nature of the beast.

NOTE: in a regular ole, sittin round the table sort of affair, i say fuckit, split up all ya want, but in a setting like this, where it can actually make people unable to play for long periods of time, we should just stick together. I can figure out out a way to make it work in character. 'sno biggie.

As I said I'm not overly against it, in this instance though, if some of you head off to look at stuff right away and some don't it could be a little time before they are back in the game.

Perhaps we can try and play it out so when people are split up it's in to a couple of groups, or only while others would be awake doing stuff.

Just brainstorming! Those that have PbP experience how do you normally handle it?

For a short-term split, such as those usually in Shadowrun? Same topic, just posts differentiating between the two. One post per group if you need it for personal organization. For a long-term split, multiple topics.

And I also think Trance will help with rescuing the kids without being asked. After all, not helping would potentially be harming children  ;)
