First of all, this is a great tool. I just finished making my first character, but I assume I'll be up till 3am building more.

One problem though: I can't seem to break skill groups. Once I increase them as a group at character creation, I cannot split them. So if I'm building a decker with skill priority C, then I can increase the cracking group only to 2, and I can't break it to increase it from there.

It sounds like you're trying to break it while you're still in the creation process; you can only split them once you move on to the spend Karma phase. Whether or not this is Hero Lab's issue, I can't say, but they usually program around limits like that.

The number in the second column shows how
many points characters can use on skill groups. Skill
groups contain similar or complimentary skills that
a player purchases as a bundle. When a skill group is
purchased, the character is considered to have all the
individual skills of the skill group at the rating of the
group. the character wishes to break up the skill group
during game play and raise only one of the skills, he
is free to do so, but may not raise those skills as a skill
group again until all skills possess the same rating. Skill
group points may not be used to purchase individual
skills and vice versa. In addition, skill groups cannot be
broken up in this step, so individual skill points cannot
raise the ratings of skills purchased as a group. (Note
that skill groups can be broken up in Step Seven: Spend
Your Left Over Karma (p. 98).

Also note that currently once a skill groups is broken, HL can NOT recombine them later. Mathias knows about it and thinks it might be able to be fixed later.

This is a bug in HL.  I do already have it logged in my bug tracking system, thanks to other people who have reported it, so I don't need another bug report of it.
