Dear CGL,

It's been around three years since the release of the Runner's Black Book, and as far as I can tell we still haven't seen any official clarification about the additional items introduced in this paper-only release being added to their respective PDF releases.

I would appreciate it if you could confirm whether or not these additional items will ever be released to those of us who've bought the individual PDFs, either as updates to the individual PDFs directly or as a separate PDF download.

On a personal note, I hope you'll understand where I'm coming from when I say that I don't think that 9 items (if that is indeed the only difference between the standalone material and the compilation) is worth 39.99USD. That  being said, I would still very much appreciate the gesture if these were made available to us, your existing customers.

Thank you and regards,
Martin

PS: What is the difference, if any, between the following two releases:
ISBN-10: 1936876116 | ISBN-13: 978-1936876112
ISBN-10: 1936876264 | ISBN-13: 978-1936876266

The first, ISBN-13 978-1936876112, is the one listed as CAT26104 in your official sell sheet, so I'm curious what the second one is seeing as how it's titled Runner's Black Book 2074.

PPS: Is it just me or did this book actually get a PDF release in French?

The books are 4Ed, any updates are most likely backburnered. As for the differences between the two books you linked to, RBB is made up of MilSpecTech, This Old Drone, Gun H(e)aven, Unfriendly Skies, Deadly Waves. RBB 2074 is Gun H(e)aven 2, MilSpecTech 2, Euro War Antiques, and Used Car Lot.
Power corrupts.
Absolute power is kinda neat.

Thanks, PeterSmith!

While I'm a little disappointed to hear that these might be on the backburner, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Just wanted to let CGL know that there are still people waiting for this :)

Hi Martinchaen,

the French version of the Runner's Black Book contains the following:
   - whole Runner's Black Book (i.e. MilSpecTech, This Old Drone, Gun H(e)aven, Unfriendly Skies, Deadly Waves, the pieces of equipement that only exist in the DTF version in english)
   - Gun H(e)aven 2
   - Used Car Lot
   - the naval vessel rules, needed for some vessles of Deadly Waves but missing in french as War! has not been traducted.
   - some errata if I remember well

As all french Shadowrun books, it is available in both PDF and DTF (full color but soft cover). You will note that the layout is also denser (2 items per page instead of 1)

Thanks Carmody!

So, CGL, why the difference in policy between English releases and French? Does the same apply to the German version?

Too bad my French is pretty bad...

Localization is handled by different companies for different countries.

Basically the french market is not big enough to absorb as many books/pdf as released by CGL, therefore, only paper books are translated (and not all of them, far from that).
Some pdf have been added to the relevant paper book (eg Parazoology is translated and included in the french version of Running Wild)

As gear books tend to send well, we decided to translate the RBB in french. Gun Heaven 2 was released before the translation was complete and we decided to add it as a "bonus", same for Used Car Lot (at that time we did not know yet that RBB2074 was to be released).
As in french this book was not a compilation of existing pdf, it was released as all books in both pdf and paper version

Interesting; so it's a completely different entity that handles the regional versions? That explains a lot, actually...
