How are everyone else's games going? Poindexter and rednblack are posting like madmen so I'm guessing those games are going well.

Well, the game I'm GMing is still losing players to the tune of 4 per IC day, and we just had our first on screen death. On the plus side, the players are chewing on some really interesting theories so I like that. All in all, I'm having a good time.

Sorry to hear about Ryo. I hope he comes back.

Apologies for my absence. It's been a rough week.

To be honest I'm not sure if I have time for this anymore, with things continuing to spiral out of control in my personal life, and its hard to feel motivated after losing 70% of the players. Unless novocrane or ravensoracle return, I don't think my heart's in it anymore.

I'll reply to your PM momentarily, Tecumseh.

Alright gang, let's talk this through.

Novocrane and Ravensoracle haven't posted in a month (to any forum) and haven't responded to PMs. Let's officially declare them dropped.

Ryo doesn't want to conduct a third round of recruiting, which is understandable. He's also prioritizing his personal life right now, which is how it should be.

We have a couple options:
1) Call the game. Ryo pulls back the curtain, tells us about the mystery and our character sheets, and we go on to our next games.
2) Continue the game with a new GM. Ryo has tentatively agreed to pass along the reins so that the plot can continue.

I have volunteered to be GM if we go for option #2, but given that we have other GMs in our midst (both rednblack and Poindexter) we should check to see if anyone else wants to give it a go. I would love to keep playing but I'd rather GM than see the game end prematurely.

Continuing would include recruiting replacements for Chino and the Crumpled Man. We can discuss this if we decide to move forward.

Short résumé if it helps you decide: Shadowrun player and GM for almost 22 years. I GM one other PbP game that just passed its third anniversary this week. (It's winding down and is almost complete.) I also GM a weekly IRC session on Wednesdays that has logged 109 sessions and counting. Links to both available upon request. My games skew low-powered so this has been (and will be) a higher-power game than I am accustomed to. I am more mirrorshades than mohawk. I'm from Seattle IRL so that setting is near and dear to me, but I love the NAN and am delighted that the game is starting in the PCC.

Questions, comments, concerns? Now's the time. Otherwise, let's talk this out and vote.

I'm always for keeping it going. I don't have much experience GMing much of anything. I ran some D&D games when I was a pre-teen (enter a level one, exit a God), and some Cyberpunk 2020 in high school (very black trenchcoat devolving into pink mohawk once the strategic entry met Murphy's Law). I ran a con game once based on Terminator. It... did not go well. We shall never speak of it again. More recently, I ran a game in the Cypher system, and I'll just say that roll playing is MUCH easier to GM than role playing.

So, yeah, I'm out as a GM unless you are real gluttons for punishment - I'd rather cut (re-cut?) my teeth on something simpler like a simple pay data run or some such. I'd also like to get a few games under my belt as a player in 5th before I take the GM plunge. But I will be happy to continue playing if someone picks up the banner.

@Ryo
Thank you for allowing me to play in your game. It was a great experience. More than that, I hope that your real world stuff works out. As intoxicating as the 6th world may be, the 5th always comes first.

@Ryo, sorry to hear about the real-world stuff.  Hope things are alright.

@All, I'm inclined to also go with the group on this one.  I've got another PbP I'm planning on GMing soon, so me taking over this game will not be in the cards.

I count the votes as follows:
Tecumseh: Continue
Malevolence: Continue
Poindexter: "group"
rednblack: "group"

I'm going to interpret the "I'll go with the group" votes as "I am fine continuing". Since it doesn't sound like anyone wants to bow out, it seems that the Ayes have it.

I believe everyone received Zweiblumen's PM voicing his interest in taking over Crumpled. If anyone has any concerns, now's the time to say so. Otherwise, we're halfway through our recruiting.

Next step is a replacement for Chino. I'm going to nominate Koshnek (without his knowledge) since he was looking for a new PbP game as recently as a week ago. Also, he was the #8 player to raise his hands during the initial recruitment phase so he just missed the original cut. I skimmed his IC and OOC posts for Kindred Bond and they looked good at a glance. If anyone else has any candidates in mind, please speak up.

I'm going to move a bit faster than usual on this because I'm anticipating slower-than-average work weeks for the next two weeks. (I have likely jinxed myself by saying that out loud.) That should give me some additional bandwidth to get up to speed and to get the game rebooted with some good momentum before we hit an inevitable slowdown around the holidays.

Please post with any thoughts or questions you might have.

Both players work for me.

It'll be great to get moving on this again.

I appreciate the consideration because I am looking for a PbP to help me get through the week, and this seemed to be an interesting game :-). I'm still pretty new to RPG's though, and I don't think I'm prepared to jump into another person's character in the middle of a run. That's probably a little too advanced for me, haha. I hope you find someone acceptable and get back on track soon.

Koshnek, you've been a member of the site for over a year and have been posting regularly and competently the whole while. I'm not sure how much more experience you think we're looking for. If it makes you feel any better, the character isn't "anybody's" since the premise of the game is amnesia. We've all woken up with little recollection of who we are, so part of the game is rediscovering who exactly our characters are.

If it's still not for you then we'll keep looking but I'm not seeing any conflicts on my side of things. Any other nominees come to mind?

8-bit has PM'd me and expressed interest in Chino. If any man (or woman) can show just cause why Zweiblumen or 8-bit may not lawfully be joined to the game, let him (or her) now speak or else hereafter forever hold his (or her) peace.

If recruiting is done then the next step is to get all the behind-the-scenes information from Ryo. I have no idea how long this will take, both to get the content and for me to absorb it. My goal is for the end of the week but we'll see what happens.

After that, I imagine starting a new OOC thread, partly to refresh the topic - especially since it seems like we're at a chapter break - but also so everyone can have their character sheets posted on one page together. It makes the GM's life easier. Starting a new IC thread is also an option but less necessary. I'm open to opinions on the matter.

Both are fine with me. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't an oversight, but are you planning to continue playing the Masked Woman? I don't have an issue with you making her an NPC or continuing to play her, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't simply overlooked for the recruiting.

A new OOC, check. Breaking up OOC and IC by chapters or other useful break points sounds like a good idea.

Yes, my intent is to continue to play the Masked Woman. In a way, it might help me play her better. I've been thinking of her as more reserved and mysterious - not a big leap, given the mask and her build - but I've been forcing her to talk more ICly in an attempt to keep the game moving. She doesn't have the Charisma or the skills to be an effective presence socially, so she'll be happy to take a step back.

Just a quick update. Still waiting to hear from Ryo, who hasn't been on since Monday. I'll keep you posted.
