Asking because I'm working on an adventure in which the Azzies are one of the involved parties. Is there any reason to believe that Aztechnology (or, perhaps, the non-corporate Aztlan forces) would not use technomancers?

I can't remember any specific reason. I believe Azzies have no extraodinary attitude towards tm.

Yeah, I can't recall anything about the Azzies having issues with TMs.  If my memory serves, the Azzies may have actually used TMs to fight Sirrurg in Storm Front.

The tech-side of teh Azzies has never been explored much, since they're the Big Evil Magic corp, but they have a nice suite of deckers on hand... that's how they rig elections, after all. :)

As for Technomancers, they probably take an asset view ... can we use that one? Draft him. Is that one causing trouble? Cack him. They're just tools, not *enemies*. MCT treats them as resources to exploit, which is different, while Shiawase is actively recruiting, so... different approaches all around.

Nothing specific was mentioned about that, but it's not a stretch to say that Wak has pretty much the right idea.

Thanks folks - I suspected this was the deal but wasn't certain.

I know a tad more about this (Not tons more, but a tad) but it's from (future project) which I can't detail due to NDA stuffs. Once it gets announced, I'll shill for it *shamelessly* mind, but not yet. :D

Of the Big 10, only NeoNET and MCT are actively in the 'cut 'em up for parts' camp. Shiawase (thanks to Empress Hitomi) is more treating them closer to how they treat magical talent, from my reading of it. Renraku is looking at them from a defensive standpoint (they still remember Deus and Pax). As for the others of the Big 10, including Aztechnology, they fall somewhere in the middle, treating them as assets to be used, or threats to be removed on a case by case basis. Though Horizon is the only one going so far as to try and brainwash/thought-control them into compliance, a tactic that has backfired for them. But that's more in line with Horizon's general MO.

Didn't NeoNET try to do something with AIs and technomancers to get Dodger on their side?  I thought I had read that somewhere.

NeoNET and the other big 10 all gave Dodger run of their systems to get him to upgrade their security protocols and help them write new IC. He did this so he could go on his private hunt for Megaera. Check Storm Front. Of course, reading the notes, Netcat seems to believe that Megaera is now Dodger's Paragon, which lends credence to the idea that the Big 3 AIs may have survived the Crash, perhaps by 'transcending' into the Resonance. (Of course, if we were going to go down that road, their original source code is stored in the Endless Archive, so it is possible that someone crazy enough could recompile Deus into the Matrix.)
