there's more than one running around in Iraq. It's a converted dumptruck used to clear buildings by driving up next to them. The assault team in the back jumps off the top and enters the building on the roof or a 2nd floor window.  They also use it to block windows, and the firing ports are high enough where they can gain plunging fire into them. Basically it's a modern siege tower.

BTW the Pesh are the good guys. No American has been killed in a Kurdish-controlled region, and they have embraced democracy in their area. The US is not giving them the materiel support they need because the administration wants to play nice with Iran and Turkey, who hate the Kurds and fear a Kurdish nation. Thus, they improvise.

Oh, and IIRC, the Kurds are one of the two nations in the region with female Infantry (the other being Israel's Caracal Battalion, although that one is mixed).
