[OOC: Scanning for hidden nodes in mutual signal range Elect. Warfare 4 + Scan 6 + Nanites 3 + Pushed 1= 14
14d6.hits(5)=2
13d6.hits(5)=5
12d6.hits(5)=2
11d6.hits(5)=1
10d6.hits(5)=4....]

The only nodes you find in mutual signal range are the main Chalice node and a few nodes that are slaved to it like the cred reader system, the ordering queue, some appliances in the kitchen, lighting, music, AR pool tables on the basement floor and ventilation sytems.  If there are other hidden nodes in the Chalice then they have to have a small signal range since you are 2 blocks away.

"Well, I'm certainly pasty-faced and greasy enough to fit in, but I've generally got to hit people with the stun baton to get their attention... The place is full of corporate coprselovers.  Their fear of being busted has got to be immense.  Hell, they probably do all those drugs just to cover up their fear of getting caught doing all those drugs."
B.B. thinks for a minute about how Jack-knife Jones would do this.
"Here's an idea.  Mercedes goes in first, finds the most gossipy lot in there and hangs by them.  Woofer, you waltz in all official-like and grill the bartender about who was working a couple weeks ago and what was seen, all that.  You get whatever info you can, then Mercedes gets to be all 'what was that all about' to the social scenesters.  That way we get both fact and rumor.  If either of you needs personal info. I should be able to crack their coms in a few seconds and feed you their diary entries.  Anyone image-conscious enough to wear pancake makeup is going to have some sort of 'look-at-me' blog-presence."

Mercedes smiles back at B.B. "Well, I was going to suggest we go in like reporters doing a fluff piece on 'Emo 2072', but I like your idea better. Ready?"

As soon as everyone's ready, she'll make her way to the club, trying to adjust her clothes and posture to appear more emo [Etiquette check (+2 First Impression, 19d6.hits(5)=5)], then heads into the front door.

"Am I just going to hang in the back ready or do you want me to use invisibility and try to sneak in further?"
"Walking through walls isn't tough..... if you know where the doors are."
"It's not being seen that is the trick."

@Mercedes:
The front door of the Chalice is inside a simple black doorway right next to a flickering sign for a pharmacy.  There is no bouncer to be found and as you walk in the dimly lit room you see a human behind the bar with shiny pitch black cyber-eye covers showing no irises whatsoever who looks over at you briefly then turn his attention back to mixing drinks.  A few scantily dressed chatty young ladies at the bar look with inquisitive seductiveness at you and you make your way over to them and start chatting them up fitting right in.

@Woofer:
You wait a little bit and then make your way in. As you enter you see a few people stuff the contents of their pockets down their throats.  You casually make your way over next to the group Mercedes is with and the bartender quickly drops whatever he's doing and comes to your side of the bar right away, "Can I help you sir?"

You flash him a public ARO with the image of the boys and ask him if he'd ever seen them.  He seems very willing to cooperate, probably because he enjoys the upscale clientèle that frequent the establishment and he wouldn't want to scare them away with any drama.
Bartender: "Ya, I saw those kids about 2 weeks ago, they came in here, said they lost a contact lens so I let them search around up here and then downstairs, they found it and then left."

@Mercedes:
The scenesters seem rather oblivious to the picture of the boys and much more interested in talking about how they spent the last weekend.

@B.B.:
As you walk in one of the barmaids looks down at you, "hey kid, you can't be in here, get out." From behind you feel two slender hands with red painted fingernails on your shoulders and as you turn around you find yourself staring directly into the mini-skirt covered crotch of a tall human woman who interjects,"C'mon Sarah, give the little guy a break, he's just a dwarf metavariant....besides...he's the PERFECT height!" as she winks at the barmaid and they both start giggling.  The barmaid drops it and continues doing her job as the human leads you by the shoulders toward one of the booths.

Woofer blinks, "A contact lens, really, you're trying to tell me they came in for a contact lens, try again." ((OOC: Trying to Intimidate using Interrogation.))

Mercedes shoots a condescending glare over at Woofer's conversation, then leans into the group."Really? This is the second club I've been to where someone's asking about this crap. Just 'cuz some wannabes are playing a stupid game..."

@Woofer:
[OOC: Interrogation roll: Intimidation(interrog.)6 + Cha 2 = 8 8d6.hits(5)=0 vs. Intimidation 2 + Will 3 = 5 5d6.hits(5)=1.]

The bartender looks surprised at your sudden aggressiveness and pushes back "Hey man that's what they told me!  They were just in here for about 30 min. and I was gonna get ready to kick them out for being too young, but they said they found the contact lens they were looking for downstairs and left so I didn't make a big deal out of it....there's not much more I can tell you buddy.  If you're calling me a liar then get the hell out of my place!"

[OOC: Judge intentions: Cha 2 + Int 4=6 6d6.hits(5)=0 you can't really get a feel on him.]

@Mercedes:
[OOC: Judge intentions of what you hear the bartender say: Cha 8 + Int 4 + Kinesics 3 = 15 15d6.hits(5)=6.]
Just from reading the bartenders body language you have a pretty good feeling he's telling the truth.

One of the girls chimes in to what you just said: "Oh, you mean some of those scavenger AR games that used to be popular a few years ago?  Thank god they made those things illegal....there are some really sick perverts out there, especially since Haley's comet...."  She looks over referring to B.B. being led across the room and rolls her eyes in disgust.

She then bends over toward you and whispers "And what's the deal with this PI over here?  Looks like he's going to get himself kicked out....too bad cuz he's kinda cute!"

"Yeah, I heard some girl died playing one of those games! And I just heard a couple of Visteon brats went missing too."

She follows the girls gaze to B.B. "Oh, I don't know. Some of those SURGE types are so ... exotic." She giggles like a vapid teenager, then continues, "Yeah, he is kinda cute. Hey! Do you know anything about those kids he's talking about? Maybe he'll buy us some drinks!"

@Mercedes:

The girl looks again at the ARO images that Woofer shot up and jogs her mind.  "One second, it's taking a moment for my nanites to route neuron tracks....need to get my hive looked at......ok, here it comes..."  The memory almost visibly pops into her head like a little light bulb turning on.  "Ya I did see those kids, I was downstairs in the pool room and they went looking around the pool tables, they found whatever it was they were looking for and they quickly left."

Mercedes waves Woofer over "Hey! Tall-dark-and-yummy! Buy us a drink and we'll tell you somethin' about those boys!" While turned around, she'll see if she can catch B.B.'s attention as well to see if he caught that and relayed it to Cynthia.

Woofer growls at the Bartender, and then heads over to where Mercedes is, "What are you ladies drinking?"
