I subvocalize to the group "Guys I have Lana and am pulling a bit of information. I am playing good cop in a bad cop good cop con on her right now. So when you come in make noise like you don't believe her and want to just do her in if she won't help us out."

Then I continue, "O.K. I hear you Jimmy. Yeah she is cooperating. No you don't need to come in here and bash her in the head to get her to talk. I have it under control. NO! I will not let you torture her. Give me five minutes."

I turn to Lana, "Look you have to tell me everything that you know about these two. I believe you, but I need to be able to convince my partners that you aren't holding out on them. The one has a bit of sadistic streak and would love to make you wimper in pain. Please don't give him a reason to do that."

I'll then flash up the symbol that they found in the book and ask her, "What about that symbol have you seen it before?"
"Walking through walls isn't tough..... if you know where the doors are."
"It's not being seen that is the trick."

Mercedes snorts as she listens to the message, "So which one of you is going to be Jimmy?"

@Cynthia:
Lana: "I"ve never seen that before in my life!  Listen, those kids came here to meet up with Hannibal a few times  That's all I know! Honest!  What the hell do I need to do so that Jimmy believes me?!"

<<B.B.@Chyntia: Ask about trip chips and BTLs.  Seems like that's the connection.  We need to find the supplier.  If she doesn't know that, Hannibal should...  Maybe Sam.  If this isn't a brain-bender thing, then see if Hanny ever dealt in fake SINs.>>
"Oooooh!  I'm scary!  Let me be Jimmy!  GRRRRRR!"  Brian's monster motions cause the AR frames projected in his goggles to scroll wildly.  "Anyone bring their medkit?  We might need to wake Sam.  This Lana trick doesn't seem like she's too plugged in."

<<B.B.@Jimmy: Locke!  I didn't think you'd be monitoring your dead-drops so intently! <@_@>  I was wondering if I could buy a few things off you... and maybe see what you know about a marker I came across.  I don't know how heavy this thing is, and figured you might.  So... first off, I was thinking about picking up a Targeting Option for my Evotronics "Heavy Disruptor" attack program, a mid-range sniffer program (no Jap stuff, plz.  I don't wanna have to scrub "limiters" off it next time I feel like pissing in MCT's soup,) and, depending on what you know about this [file included] symbol, possibly something in Black.  How's that resonate?>>

still talking out loud I say, "I have a medkit, but really don't want to have to use it." I hold up a hand and nod, "Lana I believe you. Thank you for cooperating because you know blood takes forever to get out of clothing. Now what about the bender chips and BTLs? What do you know about them?"

Then I'll subvocalize "could one of you grab my duffle and throw it in the trunk before you head up?"

(O.O.C. I'm going to try and judge intentions to see if she is lying to me or if I think she is telling the truth.)

@B.B.:
Locke: "Ya no problem man, it's gonna be my usual finders fee of 20%....If you want guaranteed clean warez, that'll take like a few weeks to find....so all I can get you is pirated file-sharing warez.....let me start scanning my VPN's right now..."
[OOC: Locke's search for Targeting program option:
Datasearch 4 + Browse 4 + Connection 4 = 12 (Avail 2 + Rating 3, 1 combat turn)
12d6.hits(5)=3
11d6.hits(5)=3
Found it.  Now for the Sniffer program.
12 (Avail(hacking=availx2) + Rating, 1Combat turn) = 12(ratingx3, 1 combat turn)
12d6.hits(5)=5
11d6.hits(5)=5
10d6.hits(5)=2 ....he found rating 4
9d6.hits(5)=5.....rating 5
8d6.hits(5)=3....rating 6]

After about 20 seconds Locke reports back:
"Ok, so I found you a targeting subroutine that seems to be clean...it's home-coded by some guy out of Renton.....it's gonna run you 225 nuyen plus a finders fee of 45 nuyen.  The sniffer program is gonna run you 100 nuyen per rating plus twenty percent of that.  These ones also look like they should be pretty clean...can't guarantee it's not based on MCT code though....that's all I can do if you want the stuff now.   As usual, you know i'm not responsible for the integrity of any of these programs...that's just how it goes with file sharing....Let me know what you wanna download, shoot me the cred and we're good to go."

Locke takes a look at the image file:
"Very interesting....never seen this symbol before, but i'll ask around and see if anyone troll'n the VPN's has anything to say about it.....don't worry, i'll throw that in as a favor if you wanna buy the warez...i'll let you know as soon as anything turns up."

@Cynthia:
Lana: "Yeah, well as far as I know that's what Hannibal would get for them....oh, I do remember that the reason they came the last time was because they wanted to get some tags erased and Hannibal's handy with that so he brought them over here to give them both a good once over with the eraser.  That's really all I know lady!"

As far as you can tell, Lana seems like the kind of chick who's usually out of it most of the time and pretty much good for only one thing.....you wouldn't say that subterfuge is really her thing.

"Lana do you have a way to contact Hannibal?"

B.B. peaked his head out the window, tuned out the rain with his select sound filter, and scanned the surroundings.  Then, like a bottle rocket, he burst out the car and was running through the light rain in a flash.  "Meet you at the front door," he called to the others as he broke away.  Approaching the alley where Cynthia stashed her gear, he activated his radar cyberware, just in case. ("Wallhack, lol.")  He was not looking to get jumped by wild hobos.
Provided the alley is clear, he grabs Cynthia's bag and meets the others at the door.

<<B.B.@Jimmy: You are like unto a god, James.  I'll take the R5 Sniffer and the Targeting mod.  1000 chips headed your way.  Consider the extra as gratis, and watch you don't wave that symbol too openly.  It might be connected with BTL brainwashing crazyness.>>  [1000¥ deducted.  Your remaining balance is 10,000¥]

[OOC: 5 int +2 skill + 3 vision/audio enh +3 NAN:L = 13d6.hits(5) → [3,4,2,1,6,2,5,3,5,4,6,1,2] = (4)  (derp, forgot the Betel.)
By the way, inca, I switched the reflex recorder from Perception to Clubs, since Perception isn't linked to a physical attribute, even if it is a physical active skill.

I figured this was a good move since you're more into sensible interpretations than straight RAW.

Mercedes gets out of the car as the gnome scoots around her to the alley. She walks with Woofer to the door and buzzes the intercom for the apartment. "Cynthia's got the good cop down, think B.B.'s up for being the bad cop?" She looks over at the gnome running down the alley, trying to avoid getting wet.

She then suddenly has an idea to help them get in and out without the two finding out who they are (and making intimidation a bit easier).

<Message @Cynthia: Can you find a couple of pillowcases or something to put over our subjects' heads? That way we can maintain our anonymity and gain an upper hand in our interrogation of the troll.>

Lana: "He's usually working his beat...I called him while ago to come down here....but he's still not around."

[OOC: figure out what you wanna do with Lana and Sam before the team comes in and then we'll just assume you guys are all in the apartment]

I look around the apartment for a couple of pillow cases or similar bedding that I can use to cover their eyes. I throw one at Lana and say, "Here put this on. Jimmy is afraid you'll ID him if you see him. The fact that he is thinking of this now means he is open to letting you live, but you have to continue to work with me or else I won't be able to stop him."

I put the other one over sam's head and then let the team in.

If there isn't anything I'll get Lana to move over by Sam and cast mass sight removal at force 4 (once the spell is cast it will only affect the two of them since they were in the area when it was cast correct? Or is your interpretation that anyone who moves into the area will lose their sight. If it is the later I won't bother with the spell.)

@Cynthia:
You find two grimy pillow cases in the little bedroom and you wrestle one of them over Sam's plus-sized head.  It barely fits but you manage it horn and all, then proceeding to place another pillow case over Lana's head just as the rest of the team comes into the apartment, slowly stepping over the big troll who's still drooling on the floor.  She doesn't protest at all and just sits there silently on the couch, her pale slender legs forking out of a black leather mini-skirt and covered with goosebumps.

Mercedes switches her senses over to the astral, studying both Lana and the troll's auras to see if she can pick up on anything from either.

Assensing role (11 dice, -1 for deepweed crash) (10d6.hits(5)=7)

[I can see into the deepest recesses of their souls... ;D]

@Mercedes:
[OOC: Where are you getting 10 dice?  Assensing for you is Int 4 + Assensing 2 + Enhanced Perception 1 + Weed crash -1= 6 cutting off your last 5 rolls, that leaves you with 4 hits]

You start to read the way in which the colors of their auras weave and braid together.  Lana looks completely mundane with no dark spots anywhere along her unexceptional aura which is wrapped in red strands of nervousness and fear.  You do notice cloudiness permeating her aura typical of synthahol.

Sam's aura also looks totally mundane aside from the fact that his aura is that of a sleeping person's.  You also see dark-spots blocking the aura from shining around his finger tips, and as well as a small dark smudge on the small of his back connected to thin black filaments which run along his spin up to his cerebral cortex.  Looks like he's only got hand-razors and a concealed data-jack.
