I'm actually looking for some good riot grrrl stuff, rather than directly describing the music - I'm more interested in describing the way she moves and behaves with the synthlink, with the actual lyrics being unimportant to that description. The Spanish/English mixing is also less than important; a lot of singers who translate a song do it fully.
Weird thing, though: hard rock and soprano/alto just doesn't seem to work. I'm hoping to find someone with a good, throaty contralto, that can do some screaming, but I haven't found anyone - yet.
Though I did just find an article on a website called Metalholic...
Plus, the early writers weren't exactly poets; I mean, missing obvious rhymes like "madre" and "stray"? I'd probably redo the lyrics something like, (and this is off the cuff),
I'm your boss, I'm your sister,
I am the woman you want me to be
My time is money, that you knew
So why not frag off, talking ain't free
I've got more tricks that want a screw
Pretty whore, that's what you think of me
To you I'm just a slot machine
Until you spread me you'll be a smooth dude
You'll say whatever will get me in the mood
But once I've been screwed
You can't wait to stutter
Dirty whore, get back to your gutter
...or something like that. The adventure's lyrics are clumsy and it doesn't have to be - and part of the clumsiness comes from the insistence on Spanish lyrics. My espanol isn't good enough to make rhymes with English that fit the subject matter.
...Dammit. Now I REALLY want to dive into redoing the lyrics really well, and I don't have time for that right now - and I wouldn't use them anyway. I've got games to plan adventures for!
