Simple: can I trade this in for another free action? If so, make the above free a switch firing modes and this trade in free will be communicating.

Yes, Simple Actions can be traded in for Free Actions. That said, I'm now uncertain about whether you want a 3-round burst or a just a single shot. You're already in BF. Do you want to go to SA and change the burst for a single shot? It obviously affects the driver's dodge pool (and Sam's remaining ammo).

Bulldog Driver dodging:
Reaction + Intuition + Good Cover - Confined: 4 hits

Base is 9P -6DV, staged to 11P with net hits.

Driver soak:
Body + Armor - AP: 5 hits

Damage exceeds the modified armor value, so the driver takes 6P. The driver has suffered a serious wound and will now take 1P every (Body) Combat Turns until he is stabilized.

Sam, lining up the shot, realizes that the driver is a troll. A very small troll - about as small as trolls can get - but still a troll. That makes for three trolls (one in the Tata, two in the Bulldog).

Katsina
Free: Run outside (through the broken windshield) to the driver's side corner of the RV, speak/text/transmit phrase
Simple: Draw Claymore
Simple: Observe in Detail

Cast illusion - an elf (using his memory of APB) moves from the inside of the RV to the broken front windshield, crouching low with a hand grenade at the ready. The elf stands up and lobs the grenade in a perfect arc into the bulldog where it clinks noisily around the cabin before rolling under one of the seats (or just out of reach on the dashboard, depending on what Ohanzee can see inside the Bulldog). Ohanzee will move to the front of the RV so that he can see the Bulldog and its occupants as the scene plays out, trying to hide himself as much as possible in the illusion, etc. so he doesn't present an obvious target.

Trid Phantasm (grenade lobbing APB, force 6) [ Magic 6 + Spellcasting 5 + Power Focus 2 - Wound 3]: 10d6t5 4
Force 6 gives me a 12 meter diameter to work with, so the center of the illusion will have to move as the action unfolds, eventually ending with the elf taking cover within 12 meters of the Bulldog. Not using centering so as not to call attention to himself:
Resist Drain [WIL 6 + CHA 6]: 12d6t5 3 vs. 6 drain - Ohanzee takes another 3 stun. He takes as much cover as he can while maintaining the required sight lines.

This is interesting and mostly works. Having the grenade land on the passenger-side of the dashboard is probably the most feasible. Ohanzee, who is short, doesn't have great LOS into the Bulldog, which is tall. But the dashboard works.

Ohanzee can find good cover in his current position.

Rolling to resist the spell with Intuition + Logic:
Goons 1-3: ??

Bulldog Troll with Shotgun
The troll in the Bulldog on the passenger side leaps for the grenade. Penalties for Constrained, Stun, and Holding Action, bonus for Troll Reach.
Agility (2): 0 hits
A comedy of errors ensues as the troll throws himself over the passenger seat in a slapstick attempt to grab the "grenade" on the dashboard.

Tata Troll
Body + Willpower (2) test to Stand Up since he's gravely injured, minus injury modifiers.
Simple: Stand Up: critical glitch!
Wow, that was unlikely. Who ever thought a Stand Up action could kill you by itself? Odds are good that I'm going to have him slip on the ice and bash his brains on the pavement, but let me figure out the exact nature of the crit glitch.

Elven decker
Simple: Open Tata driver's side door
Free: Enter Tata
Simple: Action Hidden
She has crawled into the cab of the Tata over the previous driver.

That brings us to the end of CT4 IP1. Back to the top of the order, which has changed since Doc got dumped.

CT4 IP2
Gunslinger: Action hidden. No rolls necessary from the PCs.
Wolf
Sam
Ace

@Malevolence, let me know you if you/Wolf have a request about how the critical glitch should apply to the Tata Troll. If you want the knock on the head to make the troll astrally perceive so Wolf can jump him there, that works for me. Go ahead and get an IC post up for your illusion too. I'll work on an IC post for Katsina and the opposition later tonight.

Sure, writing it up now.

Wolf's attack roll:
Astral Combat [Willpower 6 + Astral Combat 6 - Wounds 3]: 9d6t5 1

The mage will probably survive it seems, unless Wolf surprises him and he doesn't get a defense roll.

Thank you for the IC posts. A couple notes:

The device sailed in a beautiful arc, landing with a loud clink! on the floor inside the open side door of the van.

There are no open doors on the Bulldog. The passenger-side sliding door was shut by the troll when Wolf hit him with Fear. The passenger-side front door was shut when the driver accelerated to try and escape after seeing the ork samurai go down.

Composing and sending the mental message, he responds, <<@Team [Uncle Sam] Not enough time or ammo.>>

Sam doesn't have enough Free Actions to send a message. He spent one on Running and another on Switch Firing Mode.

Wolf
In addition to going astral, I'm going to say that the Tata Troll is now Disoriented with concussion-like symptoms from his slip and fall. He doesn't have much of a dice pool to defend against Wolf.

Astral Combat defense: 1 hit
He manages to keep Wolf at bay for now, but he's still on the ground and his general outlook isn't looking great.

Not quite sure what Ace is going to think of APB lobbing a grenade.  The message from Katsina should put him at ease a bit, so I'm going to play it like he has no idea what's going on, but is rolling with it.

Ace probably thinks the driver is incapacitated, given the spurting blood, so he's going to go after the gunslinger with his laser rifle.

AGI (9) + Laser (6) + Take Aim (1) - Wound Penalty (1) - Running (2) = 13

laser v. Gunslinger: 13d6t5 5

Base damage is 7P -10AP 6/10 ammo-wise

Busy day for me today, as most Wednesdays are. I'll be checking in periodically but won't be able to post extensively until late tonight.

Ace doesn't have a great angle on the gunslinger. He'll be firing through the window and the gunslinger will have good cover.

Katsina, when she sees Ace's intentions, will comm <<@Team [Katsina] Ace, I'll get the door!>>

Ace has two options:
1) delay action to wait for Katsina to open the rear Bulldog doors so that Ace can have a clear shot
2) continue to shoot through the window

Option #1 gives Ace a clear shot and deprives the gunslinger of cover, or even gives Ace the opportunity to melee. The downside is that it exposes Ace and Katsina if the guy is delaying his action, waiting in ambush. There's also a -1 modifier for delaying action.

Option #2 would use the current roles and would be resolved normally.

Hmm, I was hoping the gunslinger would be hunting around for the grenade.  Maybe he is.  And even if he's delaying his action, there's a good chance he's not expecting Ace to come from the back.  Ace is inclined to go with Katsina, so let's do Option 1.  Can he maneuver so that he can gain cover from the opened door and side panel of the GMC?  Lancer is currently in his right shoulder, so he would move to the driver's side, and peak around the door to fire.  That would mean Ace would lose 1 die for taking cover as opposed to take aim, and 1 die for delaying his action.  I'll roll them separately since I don't know if Take Cover is an option here.

Negate Take Aim: 1d6t5 0

Delay Action Penalty: 1d6t5 1

Back to 4 hits.

Base damage is 7P -10AP ammo-wise still at 6/10

The rear of the GMC Bulldog has two doors that open from the center. Probably the easiest approach is for Katsina to open the right door (since she's on the right side), allowing Ace to use the left door for cover while firing around the corner. That would give Ace Good Cover.

Katsina
Free: Running
Simple: Open Door
Simple: Take Cove

Opening the door is a bit awkward. She has the claymore in her left hand and the throwing knife in her right. Again, I presume she can palm the knife sufficiently to open the door, especially since she has Palming 3.

I'm going to wait for a bit to resolve this to see if anything Sam does alters the situation.

Sam actions:
I'm so hazy on movement, man. Can I move up to the passenger side, close enough to melee the passenger, assuming there is one? or have i used all my movement for this round?

Is there anyone in the passenger seat of the GMC?

Sure, Sam can pivot and make it to the passenger-side window(s).

There is a troll on the passenger side of the Bulldog. He's currently draped over the passenger seat trying to grab Ohanzee's "grenade" on the dashboard. It would probably make more sense to melee him through the sliding-door window (instead of the front-door window) since the majority of his bulk is trapped behind the passenger seat.

There's nobody "in" the passenger seat, technically. It was where the ork samurai was sitting before he took off running. Now it's just the troll's wildly flailing arms.

w00t!  two actions, just late in the round.  By which I mean 1, as I forgot to account for wound modifiers (again)

Ohanzee:
Initiative: 1d6+3 4
Minimum roll, and I'm not even mad - a max roll would still be only one action, so it hardly matters.
Wolf:
Initiative: 3d6+9 14
Now that is upsetting.
I forgot what Wolf's wound modifier is, but I think it is 3. Adjust accordingly.
