Well, they knew about the artifact, so that means that they were hired by someone who knew we had it... KE probably wouldn't hire runners to come after us, that's kinda their thing... Which leaves the people we stole it from, and the people who hired us to steal it. The MO is interesting here in that there are obviously two groups comming together, which is the same as Kat/Ace/APB and Ohanzee/Sam/Chino/Doc.
Doc thinks you're working against two different groups. The MOs are just too different to reconcile otherwise (Lakotan + K-E HTR + milspec helicopter VS. English-speaking Johnsons hiring a local team of shadowrunners). Odds are good that the K-E HTR team was sent as a response from the people you stole it from (who might be the only ones two know that it was missing so quickly after the theft), while the more recent team has a better likelihood of being from your Johnson, who assumes you've gone rogue, or a third party who knows that it is missing. Doc's understanding of Sam's communication with his Johnson ("Go frag yourself") would lend support to the theory that your Johnson is looking for you, although the shadowrunners seemed to be looking for Katsina instead of Sam...
I'm officially shutting up about the level of our opposition from now on.
If you think about it from their perspective, they sent 8 runners and 4 spirits (plus drones) after what they assumed would be a team of 3. If word gets out that you're a team of 6 now, well...
BUT, it doesn't say anything about once it's completely filled how much you have to repair to get it functional again
Either, way I've repaired 2 boxes of damage. If I can use it, awesome, if I can't cool. I'll roll another repair ruoll when I know I'll have more time to devote to fixing it again
In the absence of fluff or crunch (or precedent from previous editions), we'll go with the player-friendly interpretation. Doc patches up his deck well enough to get it running. It takes Doc 15 minutes. Between the time to do First Aid and the time it take Doc to work on his cyberdeck, the team will be in Basalt.
My wording may have been awkward, but I was saying that she was on to our plan and tasked to intercept us even before we stole the artifact (from her conversation with Daria - all OOC knowledge for us, of course).
OOCly, Katsina hasn't contacted Daria yet, so I don't know what conversation you are alluding to.
Just make sure the GMC is running wireless off and we should be g2g.
This is a no-no with local law enforcement. This is from
Arsenal, p. 104:
Most jurisdictions restrict vehicle nodes from operating in hidden
mode (see p. 211, SR4) and additionally require vehicles to broadcast
their access ID, license plate, and sometimes their registration and
insurance information as well as the SIN and license data of the driver.
You can forgo the need for the driver's license if the vehicle is running on Pilot, but that can't be done with wireless off. Given that Chino is SINless, one of you needs to be broadcasting a SIN so that you're not throwing up a huge red flag. The Bulldog can broadcast its own license plate and registration, but this will make it easy to find the Bulldog for anyone who knows to look for it.
