Guns and gangers. All pointed at him. Like the good old days where he'd learn from his master about fast talking at gunpoint. Of course, what he didn't know then was that if you messed it up, you wouldn't be shot. Not quite like he was know, where the one wrong move to these orcs would end one's existance at the barrel of that shotgun pressed against the ceramic plate hidden away in his exposed combat vest. He turned his head up, looking into the eyes of the troll who spoke to him with such firmness, such angry control of the situation. He was used to being the biggest, baddest motherdrekker around the neighbourhood. And far be it from Arachnid to teach him otherwise. Half a dozen guns lifted and aimed. Another half ready to be pulled up and ready incase they needed more bullets. (They didn't.)

People likely knew who he was, the same as he knew who they were. Arc's old crew, the Howlers. Clearly they wanted nothing to do with him, at least until they wanted something done silent without destroying half the damn neighbourhood. How it worked. He smiled up at the troll, with a hint of innocence, reaching to his vest (And away from his exposed weapons), to the shoulder and touching his commlink, emitting a near silent beep. Speed dialing Arc. From there, he spoke aloud. "Arc, my good lady, it's Arachnid. Would you convince your friends here to stop pointing all these nasty sub machine guns at me? And tell Duckdown I'm here, if you would. I've got something for him."

He looked up to the troll, otherwise unmoving. Maintaining eye contact. Unphased by the deadly shotgun pressed to his back, despite being at this range, it would certainly be lethal, no question. He smiled, that soft, little innocent smile.

Arc did her best to ignore the testosterone-fueled tirades of Lupo while taking note of Feathers' attempts to wrap around how to approach the surveiliance.  "Man, if I could build some countermeasures, hoo boy, we'd be in business.  Lupo, y'all know better than to question my skills with this kinda biz.  You got the list of what I need, so Bonehead, start hopping."  She moved and waved  a hand to shoo the fat ork away, smirking at the older mage's bold defiance.  Good.  Ain't nobody be needin' to be nice to these drekheads.  She finalized her blueprint, saving the ARO for later reference as she took a step back, an eager smirk on her as she cracked her knuckles.  "Y'all want detecting devices, y'all gonna get em...ah?"  Her commlink buzzed, noting a message from Arachnid...which echoed as she faintly heard his voice in meatspace too..

"Arc, my good lady, it's Arachnid. Would you convince your friends here to stop pointing all these nasty sub machine guns at me? And tell Duckdown I'm here, if you would. I've got something for him."

She looked confused for a moment, purple eyes glancing around before she looked behind her, seeing the circle of Howlers gathered.  "oh, you gotta be drekking me...That's Rack..."  She turned to Lupo, a leery smirk on her face.  "Call off your pups, oh-mah-eh, that guy's with me."

You never get a chance to finish your sentence as typical Howler patience and good manners are expressed with a gun butt slammed into the back of your head and a fist coming to connect with your face as they see you move your hand towards your shoulder.

"oh, you gotta be drekking me...That's Rack..."  She turned to Lupo, a leery smirk on her face.  "Call off your pups, oh-mah-eh, that guy's with me."
Lupo looks at Arc and sneers, "You be using all your goodwill in here girl." He looks up at Sarge and flicks his eyes towards the fight. Sarge turns his head slightly, the tats and implants pulling slightly to give him an even more gruesome appearance and then he emits an ear piercing whistle."He be maimed you be payin' the Doc." he bellows. The combatants pause for a moment paying attention to the older Howler, not an officer to be sure, but, he's been around longer than most and you ignored him with almost the same impunity that you ignored Lupo.

Feathers smiled, if you don't ask, you don't get. If we can get 5 up and running, well that's five we didn't have before.

@ Feathers  Lupo stops in his tracks and looks at you with an almost grudging respect, "Chip truth dat." He turns to Remus, "Get 'im a drink." and then walks away to his latest Vruk'han Splat.

After Lupo leaves the discussion, Duck leans in toward Feathers and says quietly, "How much jing you think you'll need for the whole shebang? I might just be able to cover it come tomorrow."

{whispered} Not sure, depends on what kind of bulk discount we can get. if i remember rightly, the RFIDs aren't the expense, its the sensors themselves. You know anyone good for bulk purchases?

Arc didn't even flinch at Lupo's sneering comment of her recognition of the human that boldly joined the party, shaking her head and sighing as she watched him leave with her latest squeeze...a rather none-too-attractive pro' ork who more than deserved the moniker "Splat".  "Tch..."  She shook her head, heaving a sigh as she listened in on the hushed convo, sliding into the booth where Lupo and the two mojo Howlers had just vacated without a thought.  She took a drink of her beer, smacking her lips before leaning forward, her eyes glinting as she gave her two bits.

"Hoi, Bonehead say he gon' be getting me stuff, so let's let him do his thing.  Best case, I get free parts to work with, worst he sits in a jail for a bit.  It's a win-win.  You don't need to go all fancy and drek.  Just wait, a sensor tag and a microtransceiver's all I need...oh, and chewing gum. Gonna have to fraggin' get that..."  She pondered if she had some of those tags stashed around somewhere...might have to check, but that was the least of the worries at the moment.  Smirking, she eyed her blueprint with a sidelong glance as she waited for their elusive human ally to join their table.

Arc gave a nod, thinking about it, a small grin appearing on her features as she thought about it, still speaking low.  "Hoi, that's my info to know, ain't it?  No need to go letting them think about it if'n it means we gets free parts, wiz?  yeah, I do gots somebody...I'll hit him up, but if we need anything else, I gots to know now, so speak your piece, chummers." And with that, she pulled up her commlink, firing off a message to her smuggler friend, Hrock.

<<Message to: Hrock
<<Eyyy, Uncle Hrock, how you been?  You gonna be in the Barrens in the next 24 hours?  I've got some items I need at bulk in a big rush, and if anyone could pull that drek off, I know it's gonna be you?  How's that van of yours running?  Hit me up~!

@ Arachnid  The gangers momentarily pause when they hear Sarge's caveat, considering how much your beating might cost them.

@ Arc  >>Yo slitch, you in luck, just got ta' cred fo' my last haul and I'm busy spending it in all the wrong places. That'll prolly take me another few hours. Hit me up then girl an I'll see about what you need. An as fo' MY van. Onliest time you see me without a set a wheels it'll be 'cause they cheated me out 'o dem on my coffin.<<

@ Feathers Merlin looks at Remus and says, "I be gettin' it." Remus's surly expression at being told to serve you turns into deep shock at Merlin's words and he just stands there with his jaw hung open for a moment watching him go to the bar for you. When Merlin comes back he places the drink in front of you."It be they best." he says as he places it in front of you and steps back. And then a bit embarrassed he turns to rush away.

The strike had caught him off guard. He hadn't really expected Arc's former friends to engage. The butt of the rifle to the back of the head felt like white searing across his vision as everythign went blurry from the impact. BY pure, hardly honed instincts he dropped into a low couch to reduce his profile and avoid any further strikes that were coming right at him at that moment. His ears still hearing. Something about his beating costing them. His thoughts were rapid, lightning fast. He needed get distance from the engagement. No more strikes were incoming, he hadn't been hit again. They were pausing, thinking. Orks and trolls had wide footfalls.

He gathered the energy, it was nothing. Not even a side thought. He knew the tactic. Drop low. Flicking his wrist in a simple movement as his magic warped the very light around him, rendering him invisible. He rolled and kicked off the ground, literally runcrawling between the legs of one of the trolls behind him as the back of his head screamed from the impact.

<<Yes I'm quite sure she's crazy. All the more reason to find her.>>

Masquerade sighed. It was like talking to a little kid... wait. Well she was. Rubbing the sides of her head, She had plans to do. Poisons to make. Speaking of Poisons, the doctor must have put something strong in their tea, as there was a blur of activity she couldn't account for before they were suddenly at the meeting. Looking over her shoulder at the building,

Standing on the sidewalk she closed her eyes and began to focus her mind. She wasn't sure how far the girl was, but if the dau kept laughing and laughing.. Then perhaps she could single out the noise. Not joyous laughter.. the crazy kind of laughter.

Her hearing focused in on that sound, and her mind began to shut out other ones, slowly silencing the busy street. If that failed she would begin listening in on key words spoken, every couple of moments. There was a reason she knew so much about gangs, it was hard to keep much from her inhuman hearing.
Concepts are great, but implementation sucks. Why not improve it?
