Yelena makes the two payments and inwardly groans at the balance on the credstick.  *And this job is not paying all that much.  I hope Sam comes through with that address and schedule.  That woman has lived long enough and that is payment for me.*  She turns to watch the pizza disappear, moving to look at what is offered.  "Hey, Arc?  What the frag on this Heart-Stopper?"  She does not wait for the short human to answer, but grabs a slice of the aromatic meaty one.  She takes a large bite and closes her eyes in appreciation.  "Remind me tell you sometime about this great pizza place in Milan, Italy.  Of course that was couple of decades ago and might not be there now.  But food was beyond fragging good.  And guy behind counter was almost as good.  Ahhh."  Yelena was lost in reverie for a minute before snapping back to the present.  "Let me know if have a hankering to see Europe after this done.  I might be going back to finish some business long overdue."

She steps closer to the human.  "Not sure why I tell you, but name is Yelena Petrovna Talinovski.  You may call me Yelena Petrovna because I hate last name.  Or just Yelena, or maybe Olena.  Just in case I not make it, someone should know."

Raven sat in her chair, wearing her long coat. The color patterns on it have been turned off making it solid black. Her black raven mask was on, and in her cloths were a number of clips filled with bullets to administer pepper spray, a Mild irritant, and one ineffective against this thing. In her hands was the small handgun she carried, the streetline special, also painted black.

"Do we have any holy water or silver? Perhas UV gernades?" she asks, throwing stuff off the top of her head she'd seen in some horror flicks. You try enough times, you eventually find something.

Yelena says, "Is magic that holds monster and bullets to kill mage.  Perhaps monster dies when girl dies.  We have many mages with us and they do job to protect you.  Plan will work."  She had made sure that the silencer fit the Predator when she paid for it and now places it in a pocket of her coat and makes a final check of her weapons and ammunition before announcing that she is ready to go to the meet.  She looks to Arc.  "Walk or ride to meet?"

Johnny smells the heavenly pizza for the second time in less than 24 hours The people aren't the only things worth saving in this neighborhood Johny glances around the room as people prepare for the battle ahead. Guns are cleaned, com calls are made, deals are brokered. So many people working together, and from such different backgrounds. It's amazing what a common enemy can do for a community. Johnny leans against one of the back walls to stay out of everyone's way during their bursts of activity. It's obvious this is going to be big, but what if things go pear shaped? What happens to everyone else? Johnny moves forward and clears his throat loudly.

Hey, i hear a lot of plans to take this thing and its controller down, but what about everyone else? If that witch there has an army of ghouls and bug ugly there is half the power house I've been lead to believe, then there is going to be some collateral damage. We have any plans for keeping those who cant fight safe? If not we need to make one ASAP. Some kind of base where the C team can keep our friends and family safe. I for one will fight a lot better knowing me and mine wont be in the crossfires of this drek storm we are about to summon

Yelena listens to the huge troll as he speaks.  She stays silent because she has nothing to say.  She is not part of this neighborhood and has no stake in it.  She has not really thought much of the potential collateral damage.  *Does that make Yelena Petrovna a bad person?  Perhaps.  Maybe should think of a place to call home.  Maybe forget Tsina.  Woman has been dead to me for years already.  She did what she thought was right for her.*  She shakes her head to clear those thoughts away.  Now is not the time to wonder at those things.  She listens to whatever plan the others might have.

"Heart stopper...blend of three types of cheese, one in the crust, with pepperoni, beef, sausage, and three types of bacon piled on...or at least it's supposed to be.  If I find a pizza with real meat on it, I'll fragging die fat and happy then". Arc was surprised that the keen woman went for a meaty pizza, assuming that she would go for the veggie like most knife ears would...surprised every day.  Chowing down, she listened to Raven first, then Johnny.  " Ah...church for holy water I guess? Drek, I dunno...with UV grenades, maybe find a club?   A good blacklight should do the drek, I'd stake my hoop on it.  As for collateral...". Her gaze hardened, the spawn of gang upbringing not considering crossfire.  She let out a sigh.  "The way I sees it, we all gonna get fragged if we don't take this thing down anyway.  Word's been going out enough, I'd think most civvies gonna be holing up anyway or are in the fight.  If Rave is right, Smiley's gonna be focusing on her, which helps in a way.  As for the witch...underground, in sewers.  I know these buildings, should be null sweat if there's a little shaking up underneath.  Still, I'll use discretion, wiz Lash?"

Turning to the Russian, she gave a little nod, understanding the weight of being given her name.  "...I gotcha.  Null sweat, though between you and me, you gots more chance of making it out in one piece.  So here you go, no one knows this ...name's Tessa.  At least that's what I was born with.  Only memory of my past worth keeping really.  Anyhow, we're gonna need speed tonight, so we're taking a vehicle.  I'd say yours for maneuvering, but with that noise you say its got, we'll take my ride.  Wiz?"

Yelena had smiled at the description of the pizza.  "Heart stopper it is.  Taste good"  She noticed some of the expressions as she ate and laughed, wiping grease from her chin.  "What?  Keeb can't eat meat?  This Keeb a carnivore for over fifty years.  Frag the weed eaters."

When Arc gives Yelena her name, some weight seems to melt from her soul.  A soul she did not really think she still had.  It was like a great weight was now gone. She lifts her head and smiles broadly.  "Yes Arc.  Wiz.  Olena has been death incarnate for more people than can remember.  Little girl mage just one more."

She points to the scorpion.  "Noise just noise.  Ride still runs smooth.  You drive I ride behind?  If empty the bins can put your bag in one.  I carry rifle on back.  You choose."

The human laughed at Yelena's retorts, lifting her hands up defensively while chowing down on a bite of pizza.  "Hoi, ain't nothing wrong with that.  If fragging nothin', yo stock just went up in my book, omae~"  Smriking, she listened intently, instictively giving a little shudder at the Russian elf's relative coldness towards the fact that she is about to kill something, and not for a personal reason like she used to see growing up.

But all that was forgotten as the offer to ride the Scorpion came onto the table.  Arc's jaw literally dropped at the notion, her eyes flitting to the bike as she wandered over to it, her mouth still hanging open as she ran her hands over the curves of the steel horse.  "You'd...let me...hoooohhhhhhhh...." She started to shake, squirming a little as she stood there, any words from that point lost as she showed obvious approval and enthusiasm of the obviously agreed upon plan to travel the streets tonight.

Yelena smiles at the reaction.  It feels good.  "Olena loves bike like daughter, but not great driver.  You get us there, Arc."  She moves to one of the cargo bins and removes the sax in its case and lovingly carries it to where she was working on her guns.  She motions for Arc to place bag of goodies in the bin.  She decides to leave the armorer's repair kit in the other bin as it may be needed.

She gauges that she might just have time to touch the sax again and carefully opens the case.  Removing the instrument she slips the strap around her neck and runs through a few chords before setting into his favorite piece.  The haunting melody will live with her forever.  It was the best thing he ever taught her and is the best thing she can play.  If she has to die tonight, she wants to have this song on her mind.  Unabashed tears from closed eyes roll down her face as she pours her soul into the playing.  His song.  Then their song.  Now her song.

Arc busied herself with stowing her go-bag into the vacated cargo box of the Scorpion, pausing as she heard the music of the sax playing behind her.  Closing the box and snapping the lid, she turned around quietly, leaning back into a half-sit on the bike's seat as she watched the elf play.  Head tilted, the human noted the tears, and the level of soul poured into the playing.  She could almost feel herself tearing up from just how moving the melody was, and the understanding that this particular piece bore significance to the musician.  Idly, the mechanic wondered if she should take up an instrument of some kind, now having met two confirmed in her neighborhood, both decent people.  Shrugging, she figured it wouldn't be easy or cheap..besides, if anything, the roar of an engine she worked on was her melody.

After Yelena finished her piece, Arc lifted her hands up, clapping in approval.  By this time, a synth-denim jacket covered her vest and obscured her Ingram holster, a headband and her single-pane goggles on her forehead keeping her hair from her face.  "Well..frag...think you're in the wrong biz, chummer.." She joked idly, winking before nodding to Feathers, Raven, and Johnny.  "Aight, I gotta meet up with the crew on witch duty.  Rave, Feathers, here's the code for the sensor net, but I'll hit you up if I see anything and if this all updates..."  She tapped her ear, where she had placed a microtransciever to communicate easier.  "I'll leave you guys to lock up.  Y'all got my code as well, let's keep in touch, aight?  Otherwise...well drek, see you on the other side.."  She saluted each of them with a nod and a confident smirk, the short human turning the throttle of the bike and kicking the gear shift, the Scorpion roaring into life.  Once Yelena was on, Arc eased them out of the garage onto the road, and then sped off into the evening lit streets.

During the ride, Arc was all smiles, her shoulder-length hair whipping in the breeze as she eased through every corner like she owned the roads, the bike almost an extension of her.  About halfway to the rendezvous point, she called back to Yelena.  "So, something you oughta know about these hoops we're working with.  Howlers are tough, mean, and aggressive, and usually have a lot of firepower they ain't drekking afraid to use.  Figured that would help if when we run into fragging ghouls and whatnot.  Worst case, they handle them and detract attention away from us, eh?"  She grinned briefly before pausing.  "I..wanna clearing something up though, Y.  I ain't with them.  I just grew up with them and all the drek that went with that.  It's a long story, but I wanna make sure you fraggin' know what you see from them ain't me.  That being said, anything else I gotta clear up?"

"Honestly at this point I wouldn't know." she replies letting out her small holdout. "This here is my pistol of choice.. small and compact. Made of stuff that doesn't trip sensors easy. Normal rounds would be useless in it, since they are so small, but a bit of toxins and I'm good to go. Sadly, I have no idea what poison to use against this thing.. When I first met it I unloaded a whole clip of nuerostun into it.. and the beast didn't even so much as register it."

Yelena packs the sax into its case and gives it a loving glance before shutting it away.  She nods to Arc.  "Thank you.  His music could get to anyone.  Got to me.  I not as good, never was as good."  She makes a last check of her weapons and adds her commlink codes into the net Arc has set up.

She will get on the bike behind Arc and wrap her arms around the short human, feeling strangely comforted.  Taking the corners as a passenger was a new experience, but she recognized the skill of the driver and leaned into the curves with her.  She listens to Arc talk and considers her reply.  "I can identify with them.  I not work with Howlers, but they might know name or reputation.  Use Wanderer when introduce me.  That is my name to the gangs I work for.  I solve gang problems.  Was here with Ancients so Howlers might know that."  She will pause to enjoy the ride before saying.  "Perhaps Yelena Petrovna and Arc can trade stories after this.  Long stories deserve telling, not edit version."

The day wore on. The sun warming the air, a not quite Indian summer day. It was pleasant in the garage. The familiar comfort of man & machinery and pizza and new acquaintances that reminded you sometimes of old friends. Until, almost suddenly it was time to leave and you weren't quite sure where the time had gone and if you shouldn't have maybe prepped a little more just in case. But, it was to late now. Prep time was over. People were going to die tonight, you just had to hope you'd prepped enough and were lucky enough that it wasn't you. But, if it was you, then hopefully you took that thing with you, because some things are worth dying for.

Feathers gets to the site where he's going to make the ritual circle and finds Merlin already there directing the Howlers to cut off traffic and make sure nothing gets through. Several families are very clearly "getting out of dodge" and you smile at the memory of that old trid movie of the same name starring a very young Du Rang. And you are brought just as suddenly out of your reverie at the sound of an orc voice saying frag no they weren't moving out, nothing and no one was telling her otherwise. The druids from the safe house arrived less than 15 minutes after Feathers. Fifteen minutes where the world around you seemed to hold it's breath and then Feathers pulls out his bag and begins placing the reagents in order of use down on the steps of someone's house.
