I was recently watching season 1 of The Legend of Korra and I was wondering if there were any groups in shadowrun operating in 2074 that are similar to the Equalists. Most of my runners are magicly active so I thought that having thia group running around  Seatle would be interesting.

There are a number of them, though I can't remember any off-hand.  I know the Mafia families tend to distrust magic as well, and a number of the Islam-dominated countries (Egypt in particular) ban magic out-right (except for their secret special operatives who are 'gifted by God', not 'Awakened').  It makes plenty of sense for such a group to exist though; there's supremacy groups/gangs/policlubs for just about everything, and it's pretty easy to blame magic for a lot of what's gone wrong in the world.
Would you want to go into a place where the resident had a drum-fed shotgun and can see in the dark?

Didn't Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall mention a group like that, in the Street Sam's background story (forgot her name)? Her father was a member, which kinda sucked when she figured out she was Awakened. Sure that was 20-30 years ago, but pretty sure they (and others like them) are still around, all over the world.

That was just an ultra-religious family, if I remember right; a number of religions (primarily Islam, and as well as the Catholic Church at the beginning of the Awakening) are generally against magic.

Doesn't Humanis have a thing against the Awakened? Being human and using technology is good, but metahuman and/or Awakened, not so good. At least, that's what I remember; I might be remembering it incorrectly.

They dislike anything that isn't a mundane human. But magic is a little higher on their tolerance list..... for now (after all it could be useful for burning trogs and pointy-ears)
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???
