Mantis is almost finished with getting ready to head to the docks and is glad his ally spirit Smokey can give him a look at the location before he gets there. Smokey buddy, this small messy pad of mine is now your home too. You can run around the place and do as you please. Also I sometimes get into some dangerous work, but knowing you don't like combat you run away from fights as fast as you can. I don't need my new best friend getting hurt so if you ever see me in a battle you flee the area and keep yourself safe. Sorry about the bad news that some fights might happen but remember you run and hide if that happens OK. Mantis smiles at Smokey hoping he will see that Mantis doesn't want any harm to befall his little helper friend.

Knives clears his throat and sighs, *Bullocks!  Saw a good one an' cocked it up.  Get yer head in the game Miles.*  He takes a good scan of the street. *No chance of finding a proper dark alley, not here, but maybe a blind spot if I'm lucky and I can duck the coppers long enough.*

Taylor sees Ralph just as he's ordering his pint and darts over to the bar.  "It's on me mate, and I'll have one as well," he says as he slots a credstick to cover the tab.

Once they've got their drinks, they head over to a table.  Taylor sets up a rack and tosses the cue ball to Ralphy.
"Oi chummer, how's your day?  Thanks for the backup this afternoon, how can I return the favor?"

Knives takes another draw and exhales confidently.  He steps off the curb and joins the throng as well.  *Just do what ya do second best, blend in.  You're just another suit wanker in a fancy coat.*  Mingling among the crowd.

You finish your cig and pat on the roof of the car to let Tim know you're heading off.
Crossing the road was a nightmare, traffic fighting each other to duck around buses as they fought to disembark passengers and return to the flow.
Ducking through a minute gap to the sound of horns you reach the other side and merge with the pedestrians heading about their business.
As was usual for London, no-one batted an eye-lid. As you head past the club, you get a much better view.
It is set back off the road by a metre or two up a short flight of 4-5 steps and features a large glass frontage, frosted to opacity so you couldn't see much/anything going on inside. A relatively featureless metal panel was inlaid on the right hand side, in front of the recessed glass doorway.
Any number of suits could be heading in there, spotting one with sports bags was tough in the thick of the crowd however.
Perception test at -2 please

Ah there you are mate, how you doing? {to barman: 2 pints of lager then please mate}
Been a bit hectic to be honest, politics at work. Fucking LPO sticking their nose in, trying to get us of a big case. Head-sheds are fighting it tooth and nail but seems inevitable. Anyways, hows you doing? not seen you in a while. Hows yer mam keeping these days?
No worries, got a few minors out of em, meant the lads hit their weekly quota so they were happy enough. I've got an old system that keeps fucking around, loosing data and stuff. Any chance you can take a look at it?

Ralphy lines up a break and manages to pot a stripe, putting you on spots. He sets up a pearl of a shot but over hits it, rattling it around the rim of the pocket.
He grimaces and smiles, need te get me eye in! as he takes a swig of frothy lager

___Scawire___
Ok, so what is it you actually do then? Smokey looks a little concerned at what its let itself in for, but smiles and walks over to speedy, who's flapping happily from branch to branch in his cage.
Who's this adorable creature?
As you answer the last of its questions, Smokey follows your directions and disappears into the astral as you kit up for your recon run.

"Doing well.  Been doing some consulting for some suits downtown here and there.  Payin' the bills.  Mum keeps forgetting to take her meds, and I'm always running down to the GP.  Gettin' old is for the birds.  She keeps well enough though, and it's nice to share the house with her."
Taylor pulls a cue off the wall and sees how warped it is, and puts it back.  Finally finding one that comes at least in the approximation of straight, he moves over to the table and trys to put the 7 ball in the side pocket, but as usual, misses horribly, and sinks the 12 instead.
Looking sheepishly up at Ralphy, he grins.  Takes a sip from his lager and says, "Sure thing mate.  What kind of system we talking about, and when do you need it by?  I've an all day meeting tomorrow, but depending on what needs doing I could get to it in the evening."  Looking at the table and the situation, he takes a deeper drink.  "Gonna be a long night if I keep shooting like this.  A fiver on the game since I'm buying the rounds already?"

You walk a couple of minutes past the club and draw level with a security cordon outside downing street.
Doubling back on yourself you spot a guy that must have only been a few yards behind you. He fitted your mental snapshot perfectly; swanky suit, bit sweaty (maybe from recent exercise?) and most importantly, a decent length sports bag. He was maybe 5 metres away, ogling for a better look at the security cordon, clearly unimpressed that he'd have to take the longer route back to work.

The queue was still pretty shit, the tip had come loose and it transmitted the vibration of the shot into a noisy twang as your shot ricocheted wide.
Ralphy grins at you and takes the table as you step back for a glug of beer.
Its one of them old holo-stations, probably about 3 years old. Still works alright other than loosing its memory periodically so i have to back everything up on chip. If you can get it back to me by Sunday that'd be great mate. Got a few private jobs on next week
Con or negotiate test please

*Ah perfect!  Tired, cranky, and in a hurry.*  Knives shuffles through the crowd towards the mark.  He glances around looking irritated at the inconvenience as he makes his move.

The pissed off bloke clearly hadn't noticed you, too busy trying to figure out why he couldn't make a meeting or get home or whatever.
You shimmied through the crowd, everyone equally annoyed at the intrusion into their daily route and deftly slid a hand into the mark's jacket pocket.
A pack of fags, a folded up epaper and a swipe card "fell" into your possession.
You head back down towards the club through the heavy foot traffic and praise your luck as the card checks out. It is a private members card for the fencing club and health suite.
Timmy pings you a message as you close the distance back to the intersection;
Knives; Think I've got a read on their scanner's frequency. How you getting on?

__Zwei__
He smiles and slaps down a fiver on the edge of the table.
Fine, but if you're husslin' I ain't buying you a celebratory pint haha.

He takes his shot, rattling two into the far corner pockets before setting up a tactical snooker, smiling and nodding a gesture at what was going to be a tricky shot to get out of.
Get out of that then you swish bastard

<I'm done mate.  Heading back your way.  Start up the car.>  Knives looks around irritated, still trying to blend with the crowd.  He loops back around and gets back in Tim's car.  "Good work mate!  Now let's get goin."

Once they're a few blocks away Knives lights up one of the smokes his just found and says to Tim, "Alright mate I nicked a card.  How long do you think it'll take to make a decent copy?"

Taylor looks at the table and laughs.  "Fuck you, you tosser, he says with a jovial smile.  Moving around the table to attempt to do a jump shot, he nearly smashes the cue into the table top.  He does manage to actually get the cue to come off the table, unfortunately it just bounced of the blocking ball and skip right off the table.  Ralphy, being quick on his feet snatches it out of the air and they both start laughing uproariously.  About half of the room turns to look at them, and Taylor's face turns as red as his hair.  Snickering among themselves.  "Sunday will work if you can have someone send it around to my place tomorrow.  I'm going to be out, but Mum can answer the door if someone can drop it off.  Now take that cue and do something out of character for you with it... you know, smart!"  Taylor says laughingly as he takes another drink he notices both pints are low.  He head's over to order another round while Ralphy takes his shots, hopefully not winning the round.

//Fantastic, saves some fucking around. I can knock you up a decent copy in about 10-15 minutes mate. Grab the tool kit from the boot would ya?//
You head back towards the car, crossing the road to avoid a patrol drone and it's accompanying beat-sticks and pop the boot, grabbing the tool kit and slipping back into the passenger seat with it.
Timmy had obviously logged out of the 'Trix and was looking wild-eyed with excitement at your successful return.
He pulled out fo the parking bay and headed for the shitter bits of town at your direction.
Pulling up in a multi-storey car park, he winds his way up to the top with a decent amount of tyre squeal on the slick surface and jams the card in a reader before setting to tapping away on an AR keyboard off his deck.

You two end up getting pretty merry and as the beer flows, your aim drops off a cliff. Ralphy easily takes the fiver and jibes you for not being able to hit the backside of a barn, leading to a game of "around the pound" that was surprisingly close.
Eventually you deem to forget about playing pool (much to the relief of your table-neighbours) and retire to the bar. A couple of his copper mates join you later on, already half-cut from a trot around Soho and the night has all the makings of a morning feeling sorry for yourself.

After loosing his fiver and the rest of the chaps show up, Taylor gives up on pool and sticks to drinking and story telling.  Mostly about back when he was in the academy and how things are now.  He stays away from details on what he does for a living now, labling it as "matrix and security consulting."  Between his clothing being so much stranger than his career choices, and Ralphy's emphatic support, there's plenty else to gab about over drinks.  Continuing to get shitty until the hall closes down, they all stumble down to the Tube.  Taylor and Ralphy catch a train back to their neighborhood being rather roudy on the ride back.  Singing horribly out of key and time random pub songs while hanging on to eachother in an absurd attempt to stay upright.  They miraculously get off at the right station and stumble down the street.  Getting back to the house, Taylor tries to sneak in and not wake up Judy.  It's comical to watch his exagerated drunken attempts at silence that result in enough of a cacophony to wake the dead.  His only saving grace is the meds his mum is on keep her blissfully unaware of her son's disgraceful state.  He manages to get a couple of pints of water and an asprin down before passing out in his office.
...
Taylor wakes painfully to the sun creeping between the smog and the blinds in his office to shine painfully on his horribly hungover face.  He pulls himself painfully out of his chair and lurches to his room to shed his clothes and get them into the cleaning unit.  Counting his blessings as he's got warm water to take a shower in an attempt to re-hydrate via osmosis he spends long enough in there that his mum actually messages him asking if he's alright, and when is breakfast going to be ready?
Extricating himself from the blessed steam of the washroom, he towels off and puts some clothes on, almost falling down the stairs.
"Sorry mum, Ralphy needed some help with some drinks last night.  Seems like we may have gone a bit over board with the lads.  I'll get the processer to make us some food in a moment."  The reproachful look in his mother's eyes does nothing to improve his hangover, and she recognizes that he's paying his dues enough as it is.  She relents, and actually goes about sorting breakfast for them.  Fake-eggs and soy-sausage with a nice cuppa tea.  She sets these as quietly as she can while juggling the walker and the food.  Taylor feels horribly that his frail mother is having to take care of him.  "I swear, I'm never drinking again!"  And Judy lets out a belly laugh at that, which causes Taylor to wince at the noise.  She says, "If I had a Nuyen for every time your father said that, we'd be livin' atop the arcology instead of out here in the burbs sweetie.  Finish up breakfast and then head back up and get some rest."
Taylor looks through bloodshot eyes up at her, "Thanks mum, but I've actually gotta head into the city for some work today.  Won't be home until late tonight.  Chose the wrong night to get knackered.  Time to pay the piper."  He sighs resignedly.
After breakfast he ducks into his office and starts trying to get some work done.  He pulls up all of the information he can find on "Deliberators' Delight" and the Wesminster Arms.  Looks to see if he can hack some feeds off of any of the surveillance equipment around.  Mam's figures it's long odds, but the deli may have some low-grade cameras or something near by to get a view.  Thinking on the task, he figures the best thing to do will be to have a sprite put a cookie on the target so he can track him and then make the intercept at the correct time.  Planning will be key for the day.  "Damn, shouldn't have let that data sprite from yesterday go to waste... I'm in no shape to be doing this."  Winston and Victoria seem to be snickering amongst themselves at Mams' discomfort.

"So ya got in and out easy as ya please?  Good job mate!  You make a good copy of that card and I'll buy your first pint.   We're goin' out with the lads tonight!"  Knives playfully wallops Tim in the shoulder and chain smokes as he waits for him to finish.

He goes over his schedule for the job and sets up notifications and reminders with plenty of lead time.  *Gotta show the lad a good time, he did good.  Can't go too late though, this whole playin fancy game will be up if I wreak of cheep booze.*
