"You know me, I just get the data.  It's value is up to you."
He leans in and takes her hands looking concerned, while handing her the datastick trusting that he'll get paid for his work.
"I'm pretty concerned about how you're healing, I could maybe help a little bit there?  I've got a little time, we could take a walk?"  He says knowing there's a good chance she doesn't have a good enough SIN to get her care here at the hospital.  In the back of his head he worries that he's opened up a bit too much sharing with her that he has family that is enough part of society to get the kind of care that one gets at a hospital like this.  But that's water under the bridge now.  All he can do is go forward.  He knows the sisters will call as soon as his mum is available so as long as he stays within 10-15 min of the hospital he'll be comfortable.

"Much obliged. Good day to you mate." Silas said as he got out. He opened up his comn to check the nearest way to the church using back-alleys and less obvious places then the roads, then refocusing his energy into recasting his spell of invisibility again. He faded from sight as he released the mana, and thankfully the magic took no more vitality from him, as he already felt pretty bruised and battered already. His camoflague restored, he set off for his destination.

Seeing the northern line roll in Knives makes a mad dash for the train.  He deftly dodges exiting passengers as he tries desperately to make it on before it was too late.  With the Maxwell's still closely behind this was no time to miss the doors.

Sprint Test [2]
Running 2 + Strength 5 = 7d6 [8].  7d6.hits(5)=2

He narrowly squeezes in just as the doors are shutting and lets out a heavy sigh of relief, the adrenaline still pumping through his vains he aches for a smoke.  Knives finds his way to a seat but can't stop his mind from racing through the world of shit he's in for not coming through for the family.

Odd.  Normally you wouldn't just abandon something like this.   No other way but forwards though…

Ena nosed the GMC forwards, keeping half a sensor on the surrounding area as she drove towards the gap in the checkpoint.

Here goes nothing

@lumen____
The cabin is crowded and sweaty, packed with shoppers and commuters and there are only a couple of spare seats. You breathe a sigh of relief as the doors shut and the train begins to move away down the tunnel. The three goons hit the platform as your carriage heads into the tunnel, the baldy you fought before yammering into his link.
Johnny's reply pinged back to you as you took your seat:
<<fuck. Alright mate. Plan b. We'll grab the lads and lift the fucker tomorrow. Ping over what you got on him so far, mick'll want answers though. dog and duck tonight, 8pm.

@profgast_____
You shimmered through the narrow gap and were relieved you didn't dink the paint as you cleared the back of the lorries. The road opened back up and you made decent progress down a renovated surface, two lanes either way obviously used to carry a decent flow of traffic back before the crash. Only one lane either way was serviceable and even then it had only been bodged back to serviceability. A quick check of the sensor feed got your pulse raised; flickering lights indicated a camp of some sort over on the hillsides surrounding the road. There was no way your engine noise and headlights would have gone unnoticed here.

@saithor____
hey, where you going? I told you meet has changed.
The two heavies caught up to you as you headed away from the suv and grabbed you on the shoulders, steering you back towards the warehouse with a good shove in the back.
after you laughed the heavy to your right.
A large shuttered steel door covered the frontage of the warehouse, it's original wooden signage long rotted past legibility but you didn't have time to look in any more detail as the door noisily clattered into life, retracting into the roofspace to reveal another couple of heavyset eastern European types.
The place stank of damp and decades of rot, collapsed sections of overhead gantries lay about on the flanks of the wide shop floor but the stairway to the 1st floor office seemed just about serviceable. The two heavies nodded at your escorts and they seemed to take over duties, gesturing you up to the office.

@Zweiblumen___
She looked at you warily and subconsciously rubbed at her neck, ermm...I'll probably be alright. but didn't say it with any kind of conviction.
Negotiation test please, supporting evidence for +2 from your previous medical test applies.

"You're my meal ticket luv, I can't have you out of the picture!"

Defaulting on Negotiate (Char 5 - default 1 + situation 2 = 6): 6d6t5 1
I'm spending a point of edge here.  If I can re-roll misses and count that as total rolled for calculating a glitch then I'll do that, otherwise I'll just spend the edge to negate the glitch.
Edge re-rolling misses (5): 5d6t5 0
Welp, either way the net result is using the edge to negate the glitch and end up with only 1 hit.  Same-same.  (thats some amazingly bad rolling!)

Silas scowled slightly at it, but he headed up the steps to where he assumed Valijenov was. Going to the office he knocked on the doors. “Mr. Valjenov? Got a letter for you.

*Shite... better switch trains to throw em off.  I don't want another scene at the next stop... I'm in it deep enough as is.*

Knives thumbs out a response on his link.  <I know mate... I'll be there ready for a lashin.  I worked a good cover but it we ended up in the rose and crown, which belongs to the Maxwell's I came to find out.  Didn't get much, he was RAF had a cousin in the Marines who lost his leg in Prague.  That club I went to will be looking for new blood for classes soon, asked if I was interested.  After that I had to hoof it.>

Well that's torn it,  so much for abandoned and quiet.  Might as well keep going though, see where this takes me.

As she drove, Ena lowered the window slightly and sent out her Flying Eye with the directions to gain altitude, then tail the Bulldog while keeping an eye out.

Might as well get some insurance though, hopefully it'll see something the car's sensors miss.

Flying Eye drone is equipped with Low Ligh + Vision mag and Thermographic camera sensors.

The sensor feed flickered into view in a VR terminal, just to the right of your main centre of view. turning up it's opacity, you could make out several large tent-looking structures on either side, the lights distorting the picture somewhat.
Thermo revealed several person sized heat signatures running down the hillside towards your position

<<Right, sounds like a fuck up then. not much to work on there, maxwells will no doubt give 'im the 'eads up so club sounds like a no-go. We'll sort it. still, better be on time. Mick'll want a word.>>
You hop off at the next stop and embark on a bit of a tour of central London tube stops before finally settling back into a seat on the Hammersmith and district line towards the south east.
Foot traffic was light through the station, none of the glamorous shopping sorts or tourists frequented your end of town, and it felt good popping back up into the weak afternoon daylight and catching a lungful of diesel exhaust fumes.
You had a couple of hours to kill before the expected grilling and The Three Tuns nearby pub seemed like a decent option after that afternoon you'd had.

@Saithor__________
A grizzled looking bloke in a suit sat in a chair opposite, a cheaply suited guard stood off to his left.
He eyed you warily as he dragged on a large cigar, the embers falling onto the battered and tatty desk.
Gesturing with a scarred and pitted hand, he asked for the letter and spent what seemed like an age inspecting the seal before opening it.
The guard was on edge, staring at you, his hand hovering precariously near the opening of his suit jacket and the atmosphere was tense, broken suddenly by Valjenov's deep booming laugh.
Ha ha ha, fool boy. He make shit bargain. Good for me. I sign.
He gestured for a pen and a lighter, signing the letter and reforming the old style wax seal before handing it back to you.
Do not open. You do, you die. haha
He smiled a toothless smile at you and waved you away with a disinterested look, picking up the tab end of his cigar from the ashtray on the knackered desk.

She wins, turns down your offer

Look, meal ticket or not, its just a scratch. I'll be fine. Really. I've got shit to do anyway.
She looked a bit downcast, clearly having had a bad week so far. She passed you a credstik and stood to leave.
VR call tonight at 10pm, I'll pm you the meet details. More work on the horizon so don't let me down.
Send my regards to your mother.

She walked out of the canteen having left most of the soycaf you'd bought.
In her place walked in a gaggle of junior docs swarming around what must have been the surgical lead or some other head-shed of surgery. They were all in their blues and excitedly chatting about some new study or other.

Taylor was still concerned about the nasty condition that Bex was in, but it was obvious she was drawing a line here.  "I'll be there.  Take some time to take care of you, alright?"
He finishes his soycafe and heads back up to his mother's room.  How is he going to balance working and taking care of Judy?  He'll figure something out.

Ena watched the drone-feed for a moment.

I'm not sure I like the look of this, and Bex said I should try to stay away from any locals.   Let's see if I can ditch them…

With that Ena started accelerating, coaxing the sluggish GMC to outpace the approaching pedestrians.

Soon as Knives makes it top side he lights up a smoke.  *Mmmm smoke and diesel, the smell of home.  I've got time to kill and nothin to do but wait for the shoe to drop.  Better find a pint to keep me outta anymore trouble.*  He slowly strolls through the streets heading towards the Three Turns.  When his first smoke runs low he lights another off it.  Keeping his head down he meanders towards any solice he can find at the bottom of his next glass.
