Silas nodded, gunted, and started walking towards the safe house. He didn't really like a direct confrontation, but it was swiftly looking like the only option that he currently had avaliable to him, and he wasn't going to leave Callie to get tortured or killed. The problem was that he was running so low on energy that he might knock himself out. Well, there was one thing he could do. He headed back to his apartment, aware that every second could tick further to Callie's doom, and to not cause further suspicion, sent another message to her comn.

>>To: Callie
>>Sorry it's taking so long. Ran into a spot of trouble. Couple of street toughs. Nothing I couldn't handle. Will be there shortly.

He then retrieved the brown package containing his sporting rifle, and then headed back to the safe house. He stopped a few streets away. There was a mage in there, that meant that spirits would be a useless weapon, and also that the mage would be able to keep track of him. Luckily, he could as well, as he peered into the astral to see where the people were positioned inside the building.

Ena grimaced, definitely not looking forwards to using the facilities, or rather the lack thereof, in this frigid environment.  She spent a moment finding a likely spot before breaking out a light from the survival kit and setting the drones to appropriate overwatch setting and pulling over.

May as well take the moment before I'm closer to ground zero

From there it was a quick, chilly break outside then back into the van to warm up again and consult her Orientation System cyberware while munching on one of the largely tasteless ration bars that came with the survival kit.

Silas decided to end the game. Maybe whoever was in there would at least be willing to talk. He opened up his comn again.

>>To: Callie
>>Mind telling me who your friends are, "Lass"? Or whoever the hell you are. I have no idea what the hell if going on, but be a gentleman and let the lady come outside. Alone.

The cold night air hit you and the rush of VR left you feeling drained and exhausted. It had been a really long day and  the evening's drinking hadn't helped keep you awake at all. You still had a couple of miles to go, maybe 10 minutes or so, but the mixture of fatigue, pitch dark and low cloud base meant you'd have a really damn tough time of getting any useful work done. The clock on the dash read 01.58 as you chambered back in to the drivers seat and your mouth felt craggy and horrible, it being nearly a full day since you last brushed.
any further tests based on REA, LOG or INT will be at -4 until rested(or stimulated with drugs if you have them), with thresholds for tests increasing with time. The booze has worn off and left you feeling knackered and drained now

I'm definitely not going to get much done like this… Time to stop and set up camp a bit

Ena finished up the ration bar and continued down the road a small bit before pulling the Bulldog over.  Grabbing a pile of blankets she moved to the back of the Bulldog , locking down all the doors and ordering the Drones to "Monitor" only.  With a short mental command she shuts off most of the vehicle and curls up in a little cocoon of blankets.

Ena's fitted with a Sleep Regulator, so she should be up and about again in about 3 hours.  Drones are set to alarm if anything attempts to gain access to the Buldog.

Callie's voice begins to answer but then the line crackles as it is picked up and taken off her. A deep, guttural, accented voice answers after a second or two.
Ah, the messenger arrives. Do not be stupid. we will not let her go quite that easily. Come in here. We want to talk.

@Lumen___________
Your blade pierces his throat, sliding in above the heavy ceramic plating that absorbed your last effort. A gush of arterial blood sprays onto the deck as his cardiac system desperately attempts to maintain systemic pressure, to no avail.
Heavy footsteps up the gangplank behind you let you know your lads were ready and at your six. With the crew scrambling to positions, it was up to you how you began the assault. The cargo hatch directly in front still had it's lift on the ascent to the deck and probably contained what you were looking for, but the bridge off to your left would allow you to sieze the command and control of the craft swiftly and organise from there.
Decide how you want to proceed mate, which direction and whether you're splitting the attack or concentrating forces

@Zwei_______
She begins to sob and the nursing staff moved over to comfort her, gently explaining that she'd had a bleed and the next few days would determine just how well she'd heal.
They promised to do everything they could over the next few months and you suddenly realised the astronomical advantage your family had over the majority of people in the world and certainly in your "industry".
The cost of the rehab would have broken many lesser able families and SiNless were flat out denied through the door unless they'd been shot, stabbed or were in police custody.
You spent the rest of the afternoon trying to console your mum, helping her eat her meals and discussing her condition, prognosis and immediate future with various members of the rehab team and felt thoroughly drained by late afternoon. Your mum fell asleep with a raspy snore and you finally had a bit of time to digest and absorb the onslaught of information the day had thrown at you.
I'll leave it up to you whether you want to continue the scene or move onto the VR meet with bex; she pings over the meet details late evening and the host is another bleak white off-the-shelf one like last time.

@Profgast_________
You're awoken from your sleep shortly after 3am, dragging your brain back into the wakeful world took a few disorientated seconds to do, but a quick scan of the AR alerts showed that the Fly-Spy was low on power and was about to attempt to land. A separate alarm showed that the Flying-eye had been blown off-course some 500metres and the pilot software could not overcome the adverse weather conditions, and it was requesting your intervention to resolve. You cursed it's weak hoverjets but concsiously realised that it wasn't really the drone designed for such a job.
You felt the wind tugging at the sides of the van and wooshing through the trees that lined the old road and sensed that the recon work was going to be much harder than you'd bargained for, a quick scan of the Van's suite showing that it had begun to snow heavily in the hour you'd been asleep.

Silas grunted, then started walking to the door. When he reached the front door, he tore the paper package off of his sporting shotgun, and with it at the ready, opened the front door and stepepd isnide the building. "Alright, you said you wanted to talk? Let's talk then." he said, covering the one that his astral sight had told him was awakened with the shotgun.

Knives stands and points to the lift, "Alright lads, post up and be ready for whatever comes up on the lift.  Soon as the guards are down start loading the van."  Then he turns and points at two of the more experienced faces in his crew, "You two come with me.  Let's make sure they don't get any bright ideas about leaving port."  With the two lads in tow Knives heads left towards the bridge of the ship.

Ena cursed under her breath pulling herself out of her warm cocoon of blankets just long enough to retrieve both drones and set them back to recharge, no doubt a slow arduous process this far from any decent Matrix connections.  This was going to be quite the painful little ride but she NEEDED To complete that sleep cycle.  Trust to  luck then to finish up the rest of her sleep, with the GMC's suite dialed up for passive detection.

Bollocks.  With this sort of luck i'll have to shovel out the van when I wake up too.

Didn't roll for recovery of the flying eye, assuming that with a Jump in, even with prevailing conditions that Redline'd be able to get it back to the van, eventually.  If you want me to roll for it then let me know.  Flying Eye Dice pool is at 9 dice even with -4 to REA, and grants -2 to threshold target numbers while jumped in.

Taylor sits with his sleeping mother, emotionally exhausted from the trauma of the last 30 hours.  He sits back and closes his eyes and the matrix is still there. Beckoning, welcoming... home.  He can sense Winston still keeping an eye on the house, and even Victoria off in the Resonance Realms.  His email and social media windows are in his periphery, that later scrolling by.  Word of his mother has gotten around to friends and the little family left.  Condolences and offers of help pouring in.  As mentally tough and bright as he is, it's just too much for right now.  And then he knows he has to meet with Bex in a few short hours and that's going to mean another job.  He'll have to leave Judy here with the hospital staff and trust that they'll do what is best.  The Sisters seem to at least have a human touch even if the doctors don't.  He quickly makes note of the presiding physician and the interns that couldn't tell the difference between a VR representation of a body and an actual human if their life depended on it.  He hopes he'll have time to find some way to give them a lesson or two in that down the road.
He knows he's overly stressed and needs to rest, at least a cat nap before his meet and then a full nights sleep before "work."

He gets up and heads to the nurses station.  "Will she sleep through the night?  Should I go home or stay here?  I've never had someone in hospital before."  He's obviously torn between being here for his mother or getting his much needed rest.

I'm actually fine with him spending the night in the hospital.  It's easy enough for him to pass out in the room and have his meet.

I know he's still got to check on Ralphy's kit for him as well, but I don't remember what day that was supposed to happen, or even what day it is now :P
Poor kid, looks like he's starting to bite off more than he can chew.  He'll figure it out though, I'm sure.  He's a bright one :)

The blokes spin around at the sound of the door opening and the scene before you looks about right from what you saw in the astral.
The big lads look bedraggled, like they've had a really shit day. The one you tagged as awakened had a bleeding head wound, and the others sported a variety of cuts and bruises on their visible skin.
Callie was strapped to a chair in the middle of the room, her hands behind her body and out of your line of sight. She looked at you frantically, also sporting signs of having had better days.
A thin strap of material had been placed in her mouth and the heavy guarding her tracked the snub nose revolver away from her and pointed it at you before gesturing it at her again.
Put the gun down dickhead.
Your veery pretty friend here gets hurt if not.

"Threaten her again asshole, and your face gets a double round of buckshot. Like hell am I putting down the only thing keeping you from capping her in the first place. So, you so much as move that snub-nose back towards her, you are going to be taking a little trip to the other side." Silas said, keeping the shotgun trained on the heavy. "Same goes for anybody else. So much as one move towards her and me, and you're either going to be dead, or missing your newly detached limb. I've had a hell of a day, and haven't been paid for it, and that makes me a litle irritated. And when that happens, my trigger finger gets twitchy." The false bravado would hopefully keep the thugs off-balance enough that this wouldn't devolve into a gunfight. "So, anybody want to tell me why you boys decided to start this little party?"

@Lumen________
The two big lads follow suit and back you up as you head to the bridge.
The bulkhead door lock started to spin wildly, you guessed it was someone trying to lock it shut from the inside to prevent you entry. the two big lads looked to you for direction as the sound of a brief fight and a heavy clang of something falling onto metal reverberated across the deck.
The other team had managed to clear the lift and gave you a thumbs up before punching the console and descending noisily.
Between the lot of you, you could probably stop it from locking and haul it open (STR +BOD teamwork test, assume your two team mates are PR3 goons for assistance dicepools on this), or utilise their distraction and attack from the other direction (up the far side ladder and into the bridge from the second floor)

@Saithor________
The big lad with the revolver wavered slightly, a rush of common sense over taking his conscious thought process for a second as he balanced the conundrum of being outgunned versus outnumbering you.
Intimidation check please, all the usual mods in play (inc bonus for holding weapon)
Party? Ha. It was you cunt who start "party".{he begins to go red in the face and the tone of his voice raises significantly} You who set ambush. You who responsible for death of my brother!
He waves the pistol in gesture to elaborate the emotion behind his words more than as an act of agression but your eyes monitor each thrust carefully. The other guys look to the big lad as he speaks, distracted by their shared sense of loss.
Who paid you? WHO, THE FUCK, PAID YOU CUNTS?!?!

@Zwei__________
The sister replied warmly;
There's a visitor room for relatives of emergency patients at the end of the ward. Its basic, but if you want to stay here, you're more than welcome tonight. We've not got anyone else in it but tomorrow you'll have to head home or get a hotel nearby I'm afraid. Food is for patients only but there are some soyprocessors in the staff canteen available 24hours if you want something from them. The noodles are passable but i'd give the pie a wide berth, look what it did to my waistline!. She smiled and tried to lighten the mood a bit as she ushered the nursing staff out of the room, leaving you alone with your mum.
Ralphy was wanting it done for the weekend. think we said we were on friday today, but he did say not to worry too much due to the family crisis. He'd be super chuffed if you came through for him though of course and would owe you a favour.

@Profgast__________
totally forgot that flying eye could roll along the floor as well! yep, you can give me a pilot ground test at -6 due to snow, poor weather and such in that case. VR bonuses etc apply. It will count as a very difficult test (4)

"Grab 'old lads... an... 'eave!"  Knives grabs onto the spinning wheel along with the two big Clerkenwell lads and all together they give it a mighty thrust in the opposite direction.  The lad to his left is barely able to grab on and offers little assistance, however the other one took hold and gave the wheel a good heave.

Invisible Castle 503'd again so I used Orokos.
PR3 Goons: x2
Body 4 + Str 3 = 7d6
Lad 1: 1 Success Lad 1 Teamwork Test: 7d6t5 1
Lad 2: 5 Successes Lad 2 Teamwork Test: 7d6t5 4

Each hits adds +1 and increases limit by 1.

Knives Leader Roll:
Body 5 + Str 5 + Teamwork 6 = 16d6.
Teamwork to Force Open Door: 16d6t5 7.  That's a damn fine roll, hopefully it's enough.

The handle stops turning and you manage to heave it back on itself as the people on the far side shout for help.
The three of you haul the door open and two blokes in engineer's coveralls stand looking at you in terror, hands raised to the roof in surrender
