Knives waves a glowing blade at far corner, "If you want to keep all yer blood on the inside get in the corner and sit the fuck down!"  Glancing over his shoulder at the boys, "You pat em down, make sure they ain't packin.  You keep eye on that lift and holler when the lads surface."  Then he turns his attention to the various displays on the bridge, looking for any emergency signals or camera feeds from other parts of the vessel.

"You got me asshole. I don't know who hired me, why, or even who the hell your brother is. All I know is that I have had it with guns in my face. wave that revolver again, and I will pump a load of lead into your face," Silas said, "So let go of the fixer now before I blow your godamned face to hell."

Taylor thanks the Sister and heads back to his mom's room for as long as he can.  He wants to be there if she needs anything even though he knows that due to their status as SINners they are afforded this level of care.  He also knows that if he gets hurt "working" he's unlikely to be able to rely on something like this unless he can come up with a damn good explanation.
He spends the next few hours fretting over his mum until he knows he's got to get back to work.  Heading over to the visitors room, he takes a bunk and drops blissfully not to sleep, but into the matrix.  Home.  The comforts of the resonance and data flowing by are almost enough to make him forget that he's laying in a cot in a hospital with his mother suffering from sever brain damage.  Almost.

Using the Sprite-Techno link, he checks in on Winston and reaches out to Victoria to see how things are in there various states and then he heads to the generic blank host.  He wonders how Bex is able to get these all the time and wonders how many jobs he'd have to run to be able to get one of his own.  Could come in handy one day.

Ena braved the cold air briefly to retrieve the Fly spy and then cursed under her breath when she was unable to get the Flying Eye near enough for an easy pickup.

Well.  It's snowing.  Windy.   I'm tired.  And I'll have to trudge pretty far out there to retrieve the 'Eye.  But if I don't do it now it'll be buried under this snow and probably lost.   I suppose the worst that could happen if I go out there now is I freeze to death.

She stops for a moment to rexamine her thoughts.

Yeahhh that last one doesn't sound preferable.  Mark location, Finish Sleep, Try to recover it from there.

EWar to Find roll: 7d6t5 2 Ena puts a ARO marker where the Flyspy was last spotted and settles in to finish off her interrupted nap.

The two heavies began to lower their guard, seeing sense in trying to de-escalate the situation. Gunfire at this range was in no-one's interests and something about the way you held your nerve seemed to carry with them.
The awakened guy, silent until this point begins to protest;
He's fucking bluffing. Hey, come on, shoot the fucker and be done with eh? but the two remain unconvinced, unsure as to what to do next.
The one with the revolver look at the awakened bloke; and then what? we find out anything from corpse? fuck that shit. Everyone. Guns down on floor, yes?
thats some shit rolling on your part lol. orokos apparently hates you. You got enough average hits across all three goons to draw even and begin negotiations

@Profgast___________
Morning breaks with a wan light through the windscreen. It hit your face and stirred you from your sleep. The dash clock said it was 06.48 but it still felt like 2am, your sleep regulator not compensating for all the combined fatigue quite yet.
You noisily cricked out your neck from the uncomfortable make-shift bed and took a glimpse at the sensor read-out from the van. the cameras showed a good covering of snow across the road surface and that was going to make driving up here particularly difficult. Atmosphere sensors registered a shift in pressure and expected no further snow for at least 2 hours, though its percentage of forecasting accuracy dropped off significantly after that.
Your stomach rumbled, the rations last night only really staving hunger off rather than killing it completely. Your mouth tasted like shit too, you needed a drink and something to clean your teeth with.

"Okay." Silas said, and carefully placed the shotgun on the floor. He was still worried about the unknown Awakened, but if he turned out to be a mage, Silas was confident he could at least tear a few strips in this lot's collective hide before they took him down. "Let me level with you, I have no idea what the hell is going on. All I know is, I was paid to deliver a letter to a Valijenov. I got shot at, bunch of spells cast at, and arrived at his place only to get a revolver in my face and a quick exit before I got my head blown off. What's your side of this little fair tale?"

Ena shakes her head muzzily as consciousness slowly begins to register.  Untangling herself from the mess of blankets she braces herself and opens the door, wincing as the cold air buffets her in the face.  The icy air serves as a pretty good wakeup call as she takes in the sparkling winter wonderland.  She takes a quick drink from the canteen that came with her survival kit, she washes out her mouth with the water and spits the second mouthful out, before pulling a long third gulp.  Then, a measure of fresh drifted snow gets placed into the Survival Kit's water Purification unit (doesn't hurt to be safe) to replenish lost stores.

Alright.  Time to track down that Flying eye.

She follows the ARO marker to the last known general location of the drone and begins her search.

Redline has Tetrachromatic Vision (+3 visual), Olfactory Booster (+1 smell) and Magnesense to aid in the search. She also has Thermographic on her contacts but that's probably not really applicable at this point.

@Profgast___________
The cold wind hits you like a freight train as you step out of the van, the wind attacking in short bursts and whipping the surface of the shin-deep snow at your exposed sections of skin.
Pulling your jacket tightly against you and you immediately felt better for making the winter clothing purchases yesterday. The silence when the wind dropped was almost deafening, you'd never heard anything quite like it, especially not when you lived in the Old Smoke, the sirens, generators, traffic and all the other shit meant you were used to a constant hum of activity. This felt alien, like the shots you saw from the mars base or the moon base on the trids.
The water was good, but it only diluted the stale taste and you weren't particularly looking forward to the chemical tasting stuff the purification unit chucked out either.
Pushing on through the snow, you climbed over the section of knackered and rusting railing that separated the old road from what would have been pasture land or agricultural land, now a whited over sheet of perfect virgin snow, spoiled only by scrubby leaf-less trees and bushes, themselves wearing a white cover on their boughs.
The snow was much deeper on the field, it being partly sheltered by the raised roadway, wading through it took a lot of effort and time.
You could see the smoke trails rising from the village you saw on night-view way off in the distance, a cluster of maybe 20-30 houses and barns with their roofs glistening in the pale morning sun.
You started to dig around in the snow, cursing not bringing a spade or tools to help shift the snow, taking a minute to really look and assess the drifts around the area of interest. Something caught your ear as you did, a distant howl piercing the silence.
A general feeling of unease filled you and you redoubled your efforts, the gloves soon sodden from the melting snow as you shovelled it away with your hands. Eventually, you dug it out, the tell-tale tingly feeling in your spine giving away the presence electronic components nearby.
The battery had gone almost completely dead and it wouldn't boot out of emergency standby for more than a second before returning to hibernation.

@Saithor___________
The heavy with the revolver slowly lowered the gun and dropped it to the floor with a heavy thud. The awakened guy shot him a look of bloody murder, clearly unhappy with the move but not enough to intervene further.
We expect a deal, peace today. We ready to celebrate, then pub hit with molotovs, others killed, beaten. Letter was arranged through 3rd party, not usual way for Vory to do business, normally do things face to face, like real man. I want to know, who was 3rd party?
Callie's shoulders slumped, reluctantly accepting that she was firmly in the shit. Giving up the details of the deal was not how the fixer's world worked. Blood would be spilled and the trail would lead inevitably back to her leak. A trickle of blood ran from behind the gag, from the side of her mouth and she'd wake up with a beautiful black eye or two in the morning.
She looked at you, scanning you for an indication of what you thought was best. She was clearly scared shitless, realising the consequences of staying quiet and giving the details both involved a lot of risk, and a lot of pain

@Lumen______________
The sailors co-operated, your lads patting them down and removing a menagerie of small utility blades and light tools, nothing meaty. The security feed scrolled through the cameras in the hold, engine room, the mess and a couple of the walkways. It flicked onto the engine room and you could see two sailors frantically working on something, as if trying to get it up and running against the clock. Before you could get a better view, it flicked to the next camera, the hold. Your lads had reached the bottom and were in the middle of a fracas with a couple of heavies, and seemed to be winning. It flicked again, the mess this time. Empty. Walkways scrolled through the feed, also empty. Back to the engine room; the two sailors were still frantically working at the machine, silently mouthing suggestions and commands to one another as they rifled through toolboxes and connected up cables to their datajacks and electronic boxes.

@Zwei________
Your mum rested peacefully, the latest dose of painkillers resting her back into blissful sleep and respite from what was the beginning of a long and arduous journey to recovery.
You kissed her on the head and retired to the visitors room, a solitary lamp on the bedside unit the only physical item adorning the stark room other than a charity shop style printed art piece from decades ago.
Plonking down on the stiffly starched sheets and uncomfortable plastic-coated mattress, you kick off your shoes and flick the lock on the door before passing out into the warmth of VR.
The hubub and buzz of the matrix activity around you warmed you to the core, hitting you like a high.
The host coalesced around you as you requested entry using the credentials bex provided, it's stark white walls expanding off into limitless space.
{sysAdmin-User; BeX-101 joined host}
The stunningly beautiful avatar bex used walked gracefully over to you after appearing some 50 yards away to your right, slinking with a cat-walk ready elegance, a thigh cut skirt adorning the lower half of what was an expensive revealing digital dress, probably a custom render at an eye-watering price no doubt.
//Sorry about today. Its been a shit week. How's your mum holding up?//
Both winston and victoria report that they're fine, asking if you need them to assist with anything

Mums looks around the now familiar blank white space of the temporary host.  Completely minimal, clean, untouched.  He sees Bex enter, and her normally well rendered avatar has been replaced by something absolutely out of this world.
He lets out a long low whistle.
<<<Fancy new look luv.
As for this week, I saw.  I hope you're feeling better.
Mum's starting recovery.  But, lets be honest, that's not why I'm here.  You got the data from the mark, guessing there's been a change of plans?>>>

*Shit...  those wankers in the engine room are up to something.  Better get down there quick.*  Knives spins back around and points a blade at the sailors, "What's the quickest way to the engine room?  Don't get any ideas.  Lie to me and my boys here will bleed you both dry and dump your corpses into the freezing water."

Silas sighed. It was the choice of two evils at the moment, and personally, he didn't see how he could take all four of the foriegners and keep Callie alive, and personally, he wanted to know as well. Him and Callie might have a chance of surviving whoever had hired Callie, but they didn't have a chance agianst these four. Not with him close to falling over from drain and an awakened in the mix as well. "Tell him Callie. We can always try to avoid whoever hire you. We start a firefight here, you're pobably going to die. So, for ****'s sake, just tell them who hired you."

The one with epaulettes on his ragged uniform looked a bit panic stricken, glancing at the screens and back at you lot; blades, bats and hammers drawn. A million and one things must have been running through his head right now, clearly he wanted to buy time for his lads down in the engine room, but his self-preservation sense kicked in at the same time. Sweat poured down his brow as his froze in inaction, stammering and freezing on his words
Intimidation or negotiation will work, as would a good hard slap lol, choice is yours

@Zwei_______
The impeccable avatar looks down at itself, an unconscious real-life-ism her hotsim mod picked up and translated into digital motion.
Thanks, I love it. These shoes are amazing! {she trailled off a bit, probably looking for the right words to say}
I'll be fine, I'm sure. Just seen a lot of crazy shit this week that made me rethink a few things. As for the data, yeah. That was what started all this shit. The hunch we had about Langdal was right. He's totally bent and has serious debt with at least one of the Old Firms and someone behind the scenes is pushing the Clerkenwells to call in favours from him as part of that debt.
The reason I tell you this is because I've got another job for you, related to the work you've done here.
We squeezed a few contacts and ran some data past a forensic accountant, looks like they're using his leverage with the Lord Protectors Office and the Land Registry to make significant land purchases on the sly.
Perfectly shady shit for a suit to get up to, except this land is utterly worthless. Off grid, way up north. Abandoned since the crash. No worth or value to it.
We think its got something to do with an old and I mean old mining complex. Can't be sure at the moment. We've got an asset in the area recce-ing it at the moment, as soon as we get a fix on a solid building we want it monitoring and infiltrating. I need someone to deal with the signals, get me some ears. Fancy it? Timing's shit, I know, but I really need someone I can trust on this job.

Mams looks crestfallen at the idea of leaving his mother.  But he knows he needs to pay the bills or she'll get booted out of hospital with no one caring at all.  His avatar sighs deeply.  The intricate folds of his signature Edwardian look rippling in an illusory wind echoing his inner turmoil.

He looks up at Bex.
<<Yeah, gotta keep the lights on.  I'm guessing you want me onsite?  Rough co-ords on the location?  How soon, and are you providing transport?>>

Once Bex gives him the location he quickly compiles a sprite and has it do a quick matrix recon of the area and report back what's happening.

compile data sprite level 3 (comp 6 + res 6 = 12): 12d6t5 6 limit 3
Sprite resists (level 3): 3d6t5 1 2 tasks
Soak 2 fade from compiling (Will 5 + Res 6 = 11): 11d6t5 4 soaked all of the fade
Thread Static Veil on Data Sprite level 2 (Res 6 + SW 6 = 12): 12d6t5 6 limit 2, sprite is shielded from OS rising due to time

<<@DATA [Mams] Check out the matrix activity in this area and report back, then you are free to return to the Resonance.>>

He looks back at Bex while his sprite goes to investigate the area with a look of despair and depression that his avatar can't hide.

Knives quickly sheathes one of his blades and takes a few heavy steps to close the short distance between him and the sailor.  He rares back and delivers a hard open handed slap across the man's face, "Wrong fackin' answer ya knob!  Speak up or you'll find out why they call me Knives!"  Leaning in close, his face is scrunched with a simmering rage.

We'll do a little of both. :)
Intimidation 2 + Charisma 2 + Outnumbered 2 + Wielding Weapon 2 + Caused Harm 2 + Street Cred 3 = 13d6[5].  Intimidation vs Sailor: 13d6t5 4.  If Street Cred doesn't count then it drops to 2 hits.  Hopefully if it doesn't count then a physically imposing bonus will...

Ena pocketed the Flying Eye quickly before moving back to the Bulldog.  Making sure both drones were charging nicely she turned GMC back towards the road and started making her way through the cold snowy landscape towards her destination.

Time to see what's actually waiting for me ahead.
