IT and Sabato pulled over for repairs and such, so apparently we weren't so far apart.
The biker we do not know who it is yet but, I'll have IT look at the biker when there is a chance.

The biker is probably the one we lost  when we started chase combat.Our car has a tracking device so that's how he tracked us

Image Magnification should only shift the range penalty up 1.  So, the difference between Extreme and Long in this case.  It's on page 175.

Unless there's a difference between Image Magnification and Visual Magnification, in which case I just don't know what to believe in anymore.

Even if he still is 200m away then its only -1 penalty for sabato.
Btw I think I made a mistake when I imposed a -2 penalty since this negative modifier applies  when the attacker shoots from a moving vehicle not against it.

So even if the rider is in long range I should  have rolled 18 dice instead of 17

@Sabato - reading the core rules carefully: I think you can combine tracer rounds and vision magnification in order to shoot from extreme range with -1 penalty.

You just cannot do so that often as you need to first take aim, and then use full auto in a complex action.  But since you have time - I suggest you do so if you have tracer rounds as that way you will not need to wait for the biker to get close.  (It may take the biker quite a few combat rounds to get close.)

Now the fun part is that the take aim negates the -1 penalty, as it increases the dice pool and maximum accuracy.  I think I read that you can take aim until you get a bonus equal to your willpower.  (super awesome especially for the accuracy that is also improved by take aim)

Since you have a combat round or two until the biker is in range, I'd prepare that shot from now. With some dice luck you'll one shot that biker.

PS: I actually learn quite a lot about the mechanics from these discussions this is by far the most complex game I ever played ;)

Bah... ;) never-mind that then. (I still think you should be able to take a lot of aim tough).   PS: this is even more confusing because Smartlink reduces wind penalties, and tracer rounds reduces distance penalties.

Well Tracer rounds also provide an Accuracy bonus.. it stacks with Laser Sight, but not Smartlink... so perhaps the secondary effects stack?  ???

I just read Siren's post again and the rider is 600m away from us since he is 200 m away from the cloud (not us).
So I had it wrong , in 2 passes he is entering my extreme range indeed


re-roll:
Action description remains the same

Agi 9+ skill 8 +smartlink 2- long range 3 (reduced from extreme range with vision magnification) = 16 dp

If I have the time for another take aim action (since the rider needed 2 passes before he reached the cloud) in order to reach 17 dice pool again and keep the shot, which was really good

if not, here's my new shot, again in Full Auto mode (simple)

Shooting (alternative dice pool): 16d6t5 3

Tracer is not limited to machine-gun, it is limited to full auto. Capable weapons firing at least bursts iirc. No problems with FA machine pistols/smgs/shotties using tracers
