bnc unplugs herself and nods. "I'm sending a cleaning drone upstairs. I invited all of you to an ARO live stream of the drone's camera.
"As to the weapons: All we can't or don't want to carry, we could just destroy."

bnc is eager to move on. She doesn't want to have the time to think about a giant blood spirit around the base (not to speak of no less then three megacorporations fighting a war in which we are in the middle).

"Can we move now? The air grows thin for Mr. Johnson, and without him, I doubt there's a way outta here!"

Slobbertooth shook his head at Krestov's comments about the weapons. "Somehow I keep forgetting that you trolls are so particular about your equipment. Sorry."

Slobbertooth nodded at bncs suggestion about moving. "Yeah, it's probably about time." He took one last look back at the down opposition. "Hey, bnc, think any of their armor would fit you?

I was right.Magical security was the facility's weak spot all along.

"Bnc is right, we need to move."

Torrent reloads his Savalette Guardian  and makes sure his disguise is still in place.

Slobbertooth nodded. "Yeah, it's about time we left." He kicked a member of the opposition for good measure as they left the scene.

And suddenly the connection was there. bnc was able to access the cleaning drones' sensor array.
On the first floor behind the locked lab doors about 15 people were bound with zip ties to various bits of furniture. The sensors of the small cleaning drone wasn't good enough to be sure, but bnc believed that Schmitt was one of the captives.

A single intruder stood guard over them, while his comrade rifled through equipment and generally photographed every bit of non-digital writing he could find. He seemed especially interested in a two meter tall armored exoskeleton.

On the second floor a quick sweep showed no activity. If someone was about there, he kept himself hidden.

On the third floor their path to the stairs was clear, but there was definitively someone at 323E and -1, the drone registered movement around the doors.

On the fourth floor a nasty battle raged between eight intruders and four guards.
Two of the guards had managed to don full riot gear and were defending from the level 5 landing with suppressing fire downwards to the fourth. The other two were pinned down at 423B. The intruders had seemingly switched ammunition as the two guards were bleeding from multiple wounds. Still they fought on - probably with the aid of a combat drug - while denying the intruder access to the rest of the floor. The rest of the guards lay on the floor. bnc couldn't say for sure if they were dead or unconscious.

Three of the intruders had clearly sustained some injuries as they were retreating down to level 3.

On the fifth floor the drone could identify a man sitting on a hardwired terminal in room 523E frantically hitting buttons while cursing loudly to himself. This was probably Tom Preston the Exec.

While watching the man, bnc almost missed the drama that unfolded: The two guards in riot armor were alternating between firing and reloading, keeping the pressure on. That way they missed when the elevator doors opened and two intruders appeared. They didn't sport the low caliber SMGs but instead were armed with suspicious looking rifles. Before bnc could ask herself what those were, her question was answered: Freaking laser guns.

She could see how the weapons cut through the heavy armor like a hot knife through butter. Steam shot from the cuts, indicating some real hellish temperatures. And just like that the fight was over.

The intruders ran into the room with the terminal and tore the man away from the keyboard.
Without the pressure from above, two intruders were able to move to a better position and threw grenades into the defending guards room.

Meanwhile the three injured intruders had found their unconscious colleagues on lvl. 3. One of them kept guard, while the other two began to treat each other with various slap patches and wound glue. bnc hadn't seen how they had opened the door she had locked, but guessed that they had used the mechanical override key.

Now it would be only a questions of seconds until those three got reinforced by some of their uninjured comrades from above.

Slobbertooth groaned when he watched the link images unfold. He kneeded his forehead, partly in frustration at the situation, and partly in frustration at himself. Rule 1: Double tap the intruders from the company that may or may not be hunting you down. Slobbertooth did his best to try and stay optimistic.

"On the downside, those lasers will do so much damage if they hit us. On the upside, those lasers are going to be worth so much money when we fence them late.'

bnc worked frantically as she updated the map in split-seconds. Her mind was racing, but their primary objective was clear. Not sure whether it was clear to everyone, she felt free to point it out:
"No matter where we go, we have to overwhelm the three guards in this floor right now. Run!"

She sets herself in motion, following behind Torrent and Slobbertooth.

"Two options: Either go up to save Tom Preston from immediate danger, stop the Aztech troops and save the project; or go down, avoid the lasers and the troops, save our primary target and be gone.
I could try and free the captives with the use of the cleaning drones. Decide, quickly."

The team reached the corner and Torrent was able to peak around with his mirror. The intruder kept watch, but clearly favored his left foot. A small trickle of blood ran from the sleeve of his left leg and pooled on the floor.

The wounded man reacted fast, but not fast enough to match the adept.

Noise probably won't be our friend this time. Slobbertooth rounded the corner behind the adept, raising his Ruger in anticipation of the opposition.

They can handle that without me.

bnc uses the time to check how much info Blue Hades already collected about her. Then she looks for the icon of the to room 131. Tartaros is a monster and she assumes it's still wide awake, but one can take a look. Maybe it's even accessible from outside the host, though she already knows this hope is in vain.

After that, she tries to maneuver the cleaning drone a little closer to the one who looked like Schmitt, without drawing too much attention. Maybe she can confirm his identity. In case of doubt, she'd try to refine the image. She never was a pro in image editing but a deck like gets wouldn't come with some basic image repairing tools.

Giving a nod to bnc as she slipped back into the room, Krestov affirmed that they wouldn't let any through to her with his silent look.  As  they spoke out on their decisions on how to approach next, the troll was mentally compiling their objective list.

  • Secure the current floor from intruders
  • Secure Principle on first floor
  • Neutralize blood spirit threat
  • Escape
[/color]

Lumbering behind the two adepts, Krestov drew his Crusader, confirming the fit on the silencer as he stood behind them, silently wishing he had their reflexes for what was to come..
