Crafting is a complex magical art, perhaps the most difficult of them all. Marco is far too busy to respond to Yelena, or Arc. He cannot leave his magical lodge before his focus is complete.  However he can take a break, sleep, eat and so forth as long as he physically remains in the lodge.
 
The entire process will take two full days that Marco will spend in the magical lodge in the spare room in his and Yelena's apartment. He’ll be singing, crying and angrily screaming at his wooden comb until a fragment of his own soul is embedded in the comb. Once Yelena returns to the apartment  the spectacle is impossible to miss.

Since Marco is so new to astral perception, he has no idea how to turn it off and he is not skilled enough to use his comlink at this state. The rational to that is that the comlink is not a living object and it is of little emotional significance to Marco, therefore Marco can barely observe it right now.

Yelena will return to the apartment and note that Marco is there but not there.

Sorry guys, as usual I'm struggling to keep up with the timeline.  Would it break the flow of the story if we put a spoiler with the day (or date) every time a character posts in a new scene?  Wouldn't be necessary to add time to every post, as many many posts are a continuation of a scene.  But due to the nature of our RP, one scene can take two weeks or more, and as I am often not in a scene (totally not complaining about it, just observing) I'm watching for my time to post, and I'm going back pages and pages to remember when everyone is.  It isn't always obvious to me when a new scene transitions from morning to evening or even the next day. 

Smiles said that day one of the downtime was Tuesday.  Gil, I see you RPing the crafting, did the group skip over some days?  I thought you would be learning rank two artificing over two days with Samia.  I believe the rolls had us crafting together, correct?

Rereading Mercy's post, it looks like the group is on day 8, Tuesday night?  is this correct?



Tuesday Day 1:   Learn increase intuition spell:  irish:12D6E5 → 8( (4, 6, 6, 5, 6, 5, 6, 3, 2, 3, 6, 6→ 8 successes against 5) )     1 day, day I find out Yelena is in the hospital, rolled well enough to have some time to look into Bella's disappearance
 
Wednesday  Day 2: :  Fail at trying to bind a spirit, get a splitting headache

Thursday   Day 3:   Teach Marco Binding while binding my own spirit, then  Learn rank 1 artificing:  1 day spent learning with Marco at Samia's   This was the last of Jed's RP with Marco

Friday   Day 4  write Marco's formula:  1 day   (presumably while Marco works on Rank 2 of artificing  with Samia)   This was the day I did the internet searching for Yelena's friend.
 
Saturday   Day 5:  Write his own formula:  1 day  (presumably while Marco finishes Rank 2 of artificing    With some extra time to look into Bella's disappearance

Sunday  Monday   Days 6 and 7:  Craft with Marco his focus:  2 days

Tuesday   Day  8:  Craft with Marco Jed's foucs:  1 day

Wednesday  Thursday   Day 9 & 10  Learn watcher ritual:  2 days

I agree.  I think that is the plan for as many people as can make it on Wednesday, but that is likely to be only Arc, Yelena, Firefly, and Tuskaloosa, as I think Jed and Marco are doing mojo slinging.

Seeing how little we actually post recently, shouldn't we just skip to the new chapter?

My impending finals may be to blame for my activity.  apologies there.

I will concede to skipping to the new chapter on a majority vote, but I have been stressing this trust building and likely am to blame for why we haven't moved on yet.  The concluding scenes of DN were very trying on the team group and did not feel that glossing over rebuilding that trust was right.  the meet Wednesday (that Marco could not read) was made entirely for that purpose and now the ball is in other courts.

I am all for the team building, but would be the last person to say that someone's training should be cut short and it looks like the mages need a lot of training time to get ready.  Skipping also leaves out any additional RP Arc has with Tuskaloosa and her rigger man as she gets ready to leave for what could be an extended vacation in Eastern Europe.  It also cuts out any RP between Firefly and Yelena, should Cat be interested in more chats there, and I was hoping to do some with Marco in the evenings to see if we were going to work.

It just seems that in practice we do not generate many new posts for a long while now. So the question asked is why are we so slow to post as to once per week or so?

To be honest, Boom and I can only do so much to set the scene.  We need some input from the other players.  I always hesitate to just speed to the next scene and then find out the someone adds a post in for something that would have happened earlier, forcing post edits or deletions.  Right now, it seems that you are working on your lodge and so cannot be available for either Tuesday or Wednesday and then you and Jed are completing some other training.  I really do miss the active posting we were all doing and am not sure why it has slowed down so much.  Losing Mulcarn was a sad event, too. 

Are you interested at all in working out any relationship details between Marco and Yelena or do you just want to jump ahead?  If you want to jump, please let me know in general what you would want to do in regards to you and Yelena becoming a couple.

I am, in previous time it seemed that by the time I get to respond Yelena was already someplace else.  The way I see this downtime - Marco is busy in his own world and in new relationship, he does not seek social interactions at least he figures things out - heck he spent days high on deep weed to force himself to perceive what he is doing. If any i picture him right now as someone that is not completely there, distant with a blank look in his eyes and easily distracted.

He is beginning to independently perceive the astral and does not fully control it or know how to decipher the meaning of things in that world. If he comes to a party it'll be evident that he is as high as a kite.

Yes, that is precisely why I slowed my posts down.  I wanted to give you time to see them and respond if you wished.  I completely understand your need to be doing what you are.  If you think that Marco will be busy and distant the entire time, we can just skip all of that, but I do not know if all of your nights are going to be like this.  If so, let me know.
