@ Subaru  Matsuuri covered her shock at Subaru's answer and dancing skills in less time than an eye blink. If Subaru hadn't been watching for it she'd have missed it. And then she'd proceeded to dance with a skill and sultry sexiness to the technovibe that had others eyeing her and stepping in to dance with her as she turned syncopated to the rhythm. For her part Subaru noted that Matsuuri used the music and the moves to study the place and the layout and once even caught Subaru's eye and used a swaying head jerk to point out a Martian colony display that was very well placed for surveillance and security feeds. Soon after that Matsuuri had taken her arm and had led her off the dance floor past what almost had to be house security guard despite the few dance moves and drink in her hand saying, "I promised you a good time tonight and this place is well known for it's party favors." She'd led them to a private table then and ordered for the both of them and when their order had come had drunk hers and leaning into Subaru ear and making a show of stroking her breast while barely skimming it had whispered. "Drink. It is alcoholic, but only mildly so. I need you clear headed. Then take the Alien Explosion into your mouth and pretend to swallow it with your drink. Do not get it wet. It dissolves fairly quickly. Pass it to me when I kiss you and then wrap your arms around me and run your hands over my body and pretend to respond to the drug. I'll activate the privacy screens after a few minutes and you can go to work." Subaru knew that Matsuuri was bisexual. But, she was being surprisingly light handed in her stroking and touching more of her arms, back and thigh.

Yelena gets the tingle that says her text was not delivered.  She frowns a bit then shrugs her shoulders.  They all know where she went, and this would not be the first time in her life she was alone.

She sits up when the door opens and the stranger enters her room.  "Yelena getting better.  Too much drink.  Too much drug.  Something bad in mix."

@ Yelena  The Shaman looks at you and nods his head agreeably. "I would say that that is definitely a true statement for you. I've done as much as I can do here. But, you really didn't need much, more just to sleep it off. I would like to do one more check and then I can either release you or send you on to a medical facility for further assessment and evaluation. It's my understanding that your party has left the club. But, the room was theirs for the entire night if you want to return there although I wouldn't recommend it."

“Yes please... It  will be nice, and don’t worry about that, some things are easier to tear down than to build. It is me who need to thank you for showing me the city, I have never seen the night sky quite like that before.” Tammie then drop me off downtown near my apartment and disappears into the night.   As I enter my house I seat in the balcony pondering how different the night could go. If only I was more of myself, Tammie was probably enjoyable but no more than a conquest. I am not sure how long I’ll even be named Marco so a healthy relationship is not something that can possibly grow there. Not from her side too. So it is best left like that. Besides that, sexing my way into another emotional nightmare is the last thing I want... in fact girls like Ginny can sure get me to follow my vows again.

At the end of the day, I kind of like having the house to myself It was violated by too many people and I am not sure how long I can actually keep it now that I made up my mind to disappear from my masters. They may control the gateways to haven and there may be a scientific proof that heaven and hell actually exist. Mages been there and the ancient lore proved useful for interacting with angles and demons alike. Yet, giving up my own judgement and my own sense of right and wrong just for a get out of hell free card? This just do not make sense to me - if nothing we do matters than what is the point of even trying.

It is a shame that Yelena is not around more often... Despite all the sweet words I feel relieved that Ginny found some hotel to stay in.  Tonight, sleeping alone in my bed is the most rewarding ending, but before I can collect my reward, I finish with a short prayer for the well being of the people know and love.  The last prayer is a personal one for myself, I wish that either Gabriel will finally show mercy and pass my letters to my family, or that my family will have some mercy on me and form connection. The knowledge that they are alive and well, yet do nothing to even contact me, talk to me ask me about my life, love me. Sometimes I wish they were all dead, god-forbid it would make accepting it a lot easier. Why are they ignoring me all these years? Perhaps I should come to visit it will be dangerous but at-least I’ll have some closure one way or the other.

@ Arc  It had been a good morning. After researching brands, makes, models and comparison shopping price and function Arc not only had a list of things she needed she'd found a few things that she hadn't known she'd needed until she'd seen them. Now armed with a list she'd be able to talk to Hrock and TriggerT and see what they had and for how much.

Arc couldn't help but give a grin as she filtered and compiled the information she had put together during her morning searching, sorting it into a compact ARO listing to use and share as she had needed.  As she walked into TriggerT's establishment, the smell of his cooking was the first thing to assault her senses, causing her to pause a bit as she sniffed the air.  Hooo, he wasn't joking  She gave a little laugh to herself as she stepped in fully, multitasking through her list as she waved down TriggerT.  "Hoi, you get me a bit o' that to go, I can guarantee we get some cred goin', you feel me?"

"I read ya, lass.  Come on back, let's see what we can get ya..."

Following the dwarf back through his hidey-hole, the short girl's jaw almost dropped at the array and arsenal of goods, guns, armor, you name it that greeted her upon her arrival.  "Drek..business be boomin' yo..."  She muttered to herself as she glanced around, quickly taking in all the stuff, her eyes finally falling on a rack of armored jackets as her first interest, freshly made with sizes labeled.  Fishing through with her hands, she plucked one that was fitted to her stout frame quite nicely, a dusky black synthfabric with a high collar.  "Hey, that's my size...no marks on it either, wiz.  You holding onto this one, omae?"

"Naw, lass, that one can be yours if the cred's good."  The dwarf smirked back, giving a lift of the head to indicate the go ahead.

Nodding in recognition, the mechanic was grinning as she pulled the item off the rack, setting it on the dwarf's center worktable before speaking up again, pulling up her list.  "I know we came here for drones, but think you can get me any of this drek?  Would save me a trip"  Sharing the ARO, she watched as the dwarf perused it, fingers scratching at his face idly until he emitted a low whistle.

"Whew, you're looking at  packing away some firepower there, ain't ya.  Naw, this kinda tech is outside my field, you better off checking with yo uncle.  You were here for some firepower in a drone package, though, right?  Give me a sec, I'll show you what I got on hand..."  Pulling his goggles up onto his forehead, TriggerT retreated to a back room, leaving Arc a moment to peruse the array of weapons and sort through her thoughts.  She idly ran her hands over a pair of gold-plated Colt America's, admiring the seamless integration of the extended barrels and counterweights, and..was that a laser sight built into the grip?  Impressive..this guy knows his stuff...

Her thoughts were interrupted as her AR vision popped up with a message...a reply from Tuskaloosa...

<<@Arc:  Sounds like you and he are tight--he already made plans to drop off my purchase at your place.  Hopefully, it will keep me in the loop better.  I'll be ready and waiting where you dropped me off.  As for gear, I'll have what I had last night...anything else I should think to include? >>

Smiling a bit, Arc took a moment to compose herself before firing up her messenger app, starting to make some rapidfire messages.  Knowing Hrock was not one for dealing in bioware, she considered a moment before figuring out who she could contact.

<<@Tuskaloosa: Wiz.  I'm making an errand now, you're next on my list.  Bring anything you'd need for a wild night.  You watch combat biking much?  Might be a factor, hehe.  See ya in a beat>>

<<@Hrock: Hey Uncle.  Thanks again for hooking me up with the engine.  Gonna be a hell of a project.  Anyhow, I know you working on the 'links for me, thanks for that.  I am now looking for some nova tech, and need some help finding it.  Think you can score me any of These{Attachment Enclosed}  Lemme know, omae, you're doing me a solid>>

<<@Jaime: Good morning hon.  Loved your note.  Hope your day is going wizbiz.  Hey, you think i should get some tusks put in, so you and your Sruiken can both say you've bonded with an ork? :P  hahahaha.  Really though, favor?  Know any buddies or clinics that deal in 'ware?  Loves~>>

<<@Sarge: Arc here.  Heard the Howlers have been doing good after the blood incident on 53rd.  Just a heads up, I think I'm gonna be ruining a go-daddy crew's night, should be fun.  Finding myself needing a loan for a troll-suiting set of wheels.  I'm offering three tech fixes by my hands, no questions asked, for one or two nights.  Think we can deal?>>

Satisfied with her messages, the rigger sent all of them out to their respective destinations, sighing a little as she went over the guns again, admiring the workmanship and the various add-ons and customizations to be found.  It was several minutes before TriggerT came back out, pushing a cart covered with a tarp.  "Get a load of these..."

Maybe I've sold her short...

I'll be honest, I'm familiar with people who are different on the job than off it.  I thought I fit that description back at the arcology.  But Matsuuri takes it to an art.  Now in her element, with her honor on the line, she's totally professional.

Even as she shakes her hoop off and smiles like a fool at everyone around her.

Dancing with her, it's so easy to forget where I am.  To imagine I'm with my girlfriends back at the Avalon or the Attica.  To pretend that my detail would take me safely home where I'd sleep until noon and have lunch with mother.

But there's no armed escort waiting.  No fluffy queen bed and down pillows.  No lunch with servants and my mother to chat about our latest exploits on the 'trix.

No, there's just me, Matsuuri, and a club full of staff who would likely kill me if they knew what I planned.  A mission which if I flub up will result in my 'date' and I tossed out cold with tomorrow's garbage.

Matsuuri is all that stands between me and the cold beyond.  And she knows it too.  And takes it seriously.

Maybe things haven't changed so much after all.

Focus on the mission, special teams.  Do your job and your people will keep you alive.

When Matsuuri finally made the dash for a table, I was ready.  Ever since I figured out what she was up to, I'd been attentive to every gesture knowing it might mean something.  Knowing that now it might be what kept us both alive through this.  By now I even understood her intimate touching was part of the cover, and that she could have taken advantage of it a lot more if she'd wanted to, but wasn't.

"I promised you a good time tonight and this place is well known for it's party favors."

Once again, she's a different person on the job.  I watch her schmooze the staff, making sure to make it look like we we're both drinking but instead managing to drink for both of us for the most part.  True, I can't avoid imbibing entirely tonight, but then again I'm not totally naive either.  I've had drinks before despite my age.  Not many, but more than a few.  I'm not very good at holding my liquor, but with Matsurri's help the amount I've had won't affect my decking.

The capsule in my hand is another matter...

After downing my drink I let my mouth clear.  My anxiety helps to dry my mouth.  I quickly pop the capsule as instructed and pretend to swallow, immediately leaning my head back like I'm entering a trip.  My eyes are closed and I feel Matsuuri's arms surround me and her lips take me.  She's not the first girl I've kissed, but she's definitely the most experienced.  Still, I get the sense she's holding back as our tongues effect the hand-off of the rapidly dissolving capsule.  Our lips close although the contact lingers.  Moments later we kiss some more for effect, but the drug is gone.

I can feel the girl holding me become warm.  Her hands become just slightly more frenzied, but despite the drug the Yak lieutenant manages to hold herself in check.  My own fumbling efforts to make a show for the camera likely helps bank her passions - I have no clue how to pleasure someone even if I wanted to.  Still, the idea that I was desired, even as a result of a drug, was intoxicating in it's own way.  I am ashamed to say I feel disappointment when the privacy field draws down on us and Matsuuri pulls herself away from me.

"Dammit girl!  I thought you were cold meat.  What the hell kinda act is that raghead shit?  If I knew you were this hot..."  her voice trails off and she takes a deep breath.  "Get to work, princess, before I rip that fragging dress off and take you right here."  The threat isn't even veiled.  Her eyes are menacing and her lips are red with desire rather than gloss.

Rather than argue, I dip my hand into my handbag and pull out my trusty little Erika.  I know I'm presumptuous to say a brief prayer when I'm dressed as I am, with a woman who I just kissed and who wants to jump me where I stand, and with alcohol still in my veins, but I do this for a higher cause and I can just hope Allah understands.  In any case, I will need His blessing if I'm to pull off what I'm about to do with only an Erika.

It helps that I'm in the club.  No dealing with GOD or shifting grids.  I'm right here in the host.  But the club must have planned for clever deckers working from the inside.  I'm better than most, but I'm gimped by my low tech.  Still, no use worrying about what I cannot change now.  I slip the cable into the back of my neck and allow myself to first bring up AR and scan my surroundings.

The privacy screen works both ways, so I cannot see out any more than someone on the outside could see in.  It seems likely they thought of someone using the screen to mask nefarious activities.  They minimized the risk of problems by making the inside of the bubble its own little world.  But the screen itself is tech.  I focus on the screen generator which by necessity exists both within and outside the field.

And beyond that, it must be connected to the host.

Place a mark on the privacy field generator: 12d6t5: 3 [12d6t5=1, 1, 5, 1, 3, 6, 4, 1, 1, 6, 2, 4]

I'm in!  The privacy screen isn't a very smart device, but it doesn't have to be.  I just need it as a conduit to keep working my way into the system.  It's like a beachhead for the Imperial Marines.  From here, I enter the Stardust host as if I am a device that belongs here.  Nothing interesting here, Mr IC.  Just a dumb ol' privacy screen doing some data checks.  Routine stuff.  Not worth your attention.

Hopefully the security system will be as tolerant of my ruse...

Mark #1 on Stardust security server: 12d6t5: 4 [12d6t5=3, 5, 5, 2, 4, 1, 6, 5, 2, 1, 3, 1]
[url=http://orokos.com/roll/334257]Mark #2 on Stardust security server: 12d6t5: 6 [12d6t5=4, 2, 4, 5, 5, 5, 2, 3, 1, 5, 5, 5]
[url=http://orokos.com/roll/334262]Mark #3 on Stardust security server: 12d6t5: 4 [12d6t5=2, 5, 1, 1, 3, 6, 2, 4, 3, 5, 5, 3]

With my marks on the system, I proceed to download an image of the server's contents.  This will take a bit of time given the size of the files, but no one should be bothering the two of us since we're supposed to be in the midst of a phenomenal make out session.  With any luck, I won't jack out to find that Matsuuri lost her battle with the drugs and is making love to my limp body in meatspace.

One of the occupational hazards of being a decker...and a mage...

Okay, now for something I can actually do something about.  The back door.  I'm sure Arc will appreciate this as much as the Yak will...

Computer + logic to set up a back door: 12d6t5: 4 [12d6t5=1, 4, 2, 3, 5, 4, 6, 4, 4, 6, 3, 6]

And while I wait for the files to copy down, I may as well take a peek for myself to see what is happening around the place...

Snoop to catch camera feed: 11d6t5: 2 [11d6t5=1, 3, 4, 6, 1, 4, 1, 5, 2, 3, 3]

Not a very good die roll, but I only needed one mark and have three.  I will ask for GM's grace here...

I will limit myself to just video and no audio as a result of the low roll.  It'll create more tension that way. :-)

I have some trouble getting the system to cooperate with me, but with some effort I manage to navigate through the live feeds around the club.  As Matsuuri indicated, the Martian display is a camera.  Heck, there are cameras covering just about everywhere in the club.  Even the bathrooms.  Private rooms...uhhh...wow, I didn't know that fit there...

The down side of a photographic memory is that once you see something, you can never unsee it.

On to the kitchen, hallways, holding cells, outsi...wait!

Back...holding cell...oh

...drek...

...no...

Despite the term "holding cell" that the security system uses to describe the unadorned, nondescript room, the Russian elf seems to be comfortable.  She has a bed and is not bound or confined.  I can see her sitting up speaking to a rather pleasant-looking man dressed in slacks, shirt, and a beaded leather jacket.  Despite my best efforts, I cannot get audio.  The system is catching audio, I just can't access it.  I wish I could hear what they're saying, but at least Yelena doesn't seem agitated.  Just...well, it's pretty obvious she's drugged.  The billion nuyen question is whether she was drugged intentionally to make her compliant or whether she's coming off a high she took on herself.

I watch the feed helplessly even as my Erika continues to devour the massive data feed from the security system.  Maybe the answer will lie there?  If only I had a wired connection so that I didn't have to wait so long...

Yelena nods in agreement as she tries to think.  The drugs are still flowing through her system and she does not feel all that well.  "Yelena live where cab not go.  Must walk some.  Yelena stay here on bed to rest?  Leave after feel better?  Maybe have water to drink then do last check?"

@ Yelena  Shamen Tatuma nods and says, "I think that's wise. I'll have one of the waitresses bring you a glass of water and a little food. Don't force yourself to eat what you don't want. But, I think something solid in your system would do you good." He points to the camera in the north upper corner of the room and says, "The room is fairly spartan to keep people from hurting themselves. But, you're perfectly safe. I've been monitoring you the whole time. And when you finally feel ready to leave just wave at me every minute or so until I come or have one of the security guards come and take you out of here back into the club. You're currently underneath the club proper and I don't want you to get lost.

The previous day:

Blake was right with m trying to hide his astonishment I use the fast intelink to his mind to test the water. “First let's speak money, both money on the work this gig costs me, both for looking back to the job done and for looking forward. How does 30k for the job done so far, divided equally with the surviving members of the team. Me Arc and Yelena sounds? This is on the past, we risked our lifes to infiltrate this club and our efforts should not go unrewarded, Feathers did not make it and I rescued a guy from their basement they are the torture kind. If we risked our necks we get paid for the past, this is what creates a base for the future.

Second is the future, at the end of this gig I need a legit SIN tailored especially for me. I have some shit hunting my past and I want to try and shake these assholes. This and more money regarding the length of the mission, every week that I am entangled in this shit We want 10k each. This is deep cover, the risks are staggering  and two of our team are gone, three if you include the one I rescued from that basement. Are we on the same page so far? Can we start talking about our end game? “

****
(A flashback for a chat with Yelena if Mercy is up for it).

Finally after a while Yelena had time for me, just a bit I joined her as she was smoking and ask her. “Do you like assassinating people? “

@ Arc  Jaime answers you, >>Hey babe. Funnily enough I was just talking to Henri about almost the exact same thing and he recommended a guy by the name of Samuel Brotherton. Said he was a bit of an odd duck but solid where it counts and what you pay for is what you actually get. Number is AJ55243HG17942. My boss said the last patient today has cancelled and since I've picked up most of the overtime. Anyway I need to hurry and get to my next patient. Love ya.<<
In a moment he's gone and you just missed what TriggerT's was saying. "I've got everything on your list as far as weapons. Including that drone you wanted, although that isn't in stock here, I can have it to you by the end of the day.

Yelena smiles at the shaman.  "Yelena thank.  Club men bring Yelena dress?"

[Flashback]  Yelena looks Marco while she sucks some smoke in and blows it out into the cold afternoon air.  "Yes.  Yelena like.  Is expression of ability.  Besides, almost only thing Yelena know.  Yelena good at kill others.  Why Marco ask?"

@ Marco  Blake had looked at you and said,  I understand the risks you all took and I respect that you're still here. What i can tell you is that I'm going to make sure every single one of your requests are met. I personally think that for the level of risk that they're reasonable.  He'd paused thinking and then had looked you in the eye.I don't know this team. Don't know what they're capable of. I know that I'm just going on faith here. Faith in Stewarts judgement and plan. But, for right now that's all I've got. But, if we're going to make this work I can't keep going on faith. I'm going to need to know what each of you are capable of and what you each bring to the mission. I don't have Stewarts gift for using people. What I do have is my word that I will not risk your lives without there being a damn good reason whose benefits outweigh the risks. And I will ask you to take that risk knowing what's at stake every step of the way. You will never go into a situation blind. I will give you every bit of intel I have and that's a promise. He'd reached into a small pocket on his boots near a buckle and had pulled out a credstick. Thirty for the work already done. He pulls out four more credsticks from small pockets on different parts of his body. Marco had to admit they were well hidden. Until Blake reached a finger into each pocket they looked seamless. Ten each for this week in advance and ten for a full suit and shoes and comm so that you can pull off the look of one very pricey lawyer.

Arc could actually feel her cheeks flush a bit at Jaime's response, minimizing the ARO with a bit of fluster as she looked back at the dwarf, smirking a bit.  "That'll do wiz by me.  I'll be by either tonight or tomorrow to swing it, depending on how I can get my drek to line up, ya heard?  I'll take a few mods for it as well, and some ammo if you can spare it.  Here..."  She fished out a credstick from her pocket, slotting it with the dwarf to cover the jacket as she picked it up off the table.  "I'll need this tonight for sure.  Thanks omae.  Send me a comm when the stuff's available, ya heard?"  The dwarf gave a grinning nod in response, the two shaking hands as Arc departed, a bag of the sausage and a new armor jacket in hand.

As she returned to her Americar, Arc pulled up her messenger app again, smiling a little as she reviewed Jaime's reply.  Seeing as she was still waiting on replies from Yelena, Subaru, Hrock, Angel, and Sarge, the girl took a second to work up a couple more messages out.

<<@Jaime: Really?  Talking to Henri about that for you or me? Hahahah.  Either way, thanks for the commcode.  What time are you home tonight?  I've got a thing tonight, but if you're off early enough, we can have dinner?  Have fun, love ya too>>

<<@Samuel: Hello Mr. Brotherton, I was recommended your name as someone who works well with 'ware of the bio and cyber grade.  I'm in the market for a sleeping regulator for my line of work.  I can pay with a credstick.  Think we can deal?>>

<<@Marco{Arc}:  Hey omae.  I got a job tonight taking a bone from some dogs.  Might need some mojo support.  I'll swing you a cut if you want in?>>

Satisfied with her messages, Arc sent them out with a grin as she felt her stuff come together finally.  Firing up the car's engine, the short girl sped off to join the sunday traffic, taking it easy with some hard rock music on the radio as she made her way to the meetup point for Tuskaloosa.  She was actually quite surprised that she got there a bit earlier than she intended, pulling up and parking within sight of the location and easing back into her seat, shifting her hips a bit and getting comfy while she pinged Tuska's comm, letting the time pass by while she waited for the multiple balls she was juggling fall back into her court...

@ Subaru  Yelena wasn't anywhere that Subaru could find. There were more than enough security cam's covering the floor space for Subaru to be able to account for the entire layout. But, she had to be here. Jacked into the system the way she was she couldn't be receiving this feed from anywhere else. But where? Ok, where ever Yelena was wasn't covered by the club's regular security cams. So, somwhere where they'd cared enough about privacy to put it on a completely different system. But, they still had to have something in common. Something that Subaru could use to find out where Yelena was. But what? What systems do they have to have in common?
