I nod back to Arc-sensei.  I really don't feel she owes me drek after getting me this new deck, but we can sort that out later.  There's been enough ill thought words happening around here, and enough rash actions.  I'll keep my remaining counsel to myself for the moment and share when the moment is right.  Hopefully soon, though...

In the meantime, I move to assist Arc if she needs it and prepare to move back out into the winter night.

Arc lifts her head up as she tries to pick up a box, finding some difficulty, only to have Firefly come up and lend her hands.  Giving a nod, she smirked and helped carry it out, setting it by the door.  "Thanks again, omae"  She muttered as she gave a shiver, a bit of a draft coming in through the  door.  She looked down at herself, blinked, and started to laugh.  Holding her head, she banged her cyberfist against the wall as she couldn't stop herself.

"Can someone tell me where the frag is my shirt and coat??"

Yelena quietly picks up what is left of Arc's shirt and then her armored jacket and takes them to her.  "Only two bikes, Srui.  Yelena walk then catch taxi.  Okay?  We put things side boxes.  Yelena carry some."

"I'll go with Yelena-sensei," I pipe up after the elf explains her plans.  "Marco-san is more experienced riding a bike than me, is stronger, and therefore better to hold onto Arc-sensei and keep her safely astride.  I'm fine walking."

Beyond my words, I am looking forward to having some one-on-one time with Yelena to start explaining all that I've uncovered.

"Experienced riding a bike?... I nearly killed myself trying to ride a car I guess a bike is easier in that sense. I bet Arc is a better driver even with one foot in the grave, but sure holding up and not letting go, how difficult can that be. "

Marco smiles "Arc you will break the wall - I think we broke enough things for one day. That hand is tougher than you think. I have no idea where your coat is, but if you like you can have my new jacket fire and electricity resistance kept me without a scratch with this fireball."

Arc was still chuckling as she retracted her hand from the wall, holding her sides as she tried to calm herself.  "Ahahah...aight, Marco...eh?"  Just as he was offering his jacket, Yelena slipped by, handing her her clothes..or what was left of them.  "Thanks, omaes.  Think I'm good right now..."  Setting down the boxes, she took a moment to slip on her clothes, starting with her shirt.  The purple fabric was ripped and slightly charred, a few new holes exposing her stomach, and a big rip from where she was burned electrically on her chest.   Slipping on the sturdy jacket, she looked much better equipped for outside as she turned to her group.

Her smile had faded a bit as they discussed the plans.  "Well, we only going a few blocks down.  Can walk the wheels that way.  Getting home's another matter entirely, as we will still have an extra hoop to sit..."  She bit her lip, shaking her head as she picked up a box.  "Nnh...we'll figure out how to get everyone home when we done here.  Frag...gonna need a team ride here soon, losing that car's makin' this hard..."  Turning to the others, she noted that the gnomes were leaving them alone, and she lowered her head.

"mission is finna be completed, but it fragged.  I shoulda done better.  Y'all deserved better."  A moment of silence, and then she lifted her head, a small smile returning.  "C'mon.  We'll make the meet just in time.  Tuska, everything aight over there?"

 "Tuska, everything aight over there?"

Tuskaloosa is torn.  "I understand seeing a job to the end and all, but...I'd like to stick around here and give these peeps a hand.
...If they want it, anyway."

Yelena watches Arc put her shirt on and frowned.  "Arc.  Is electricity damage to shirt?  Yelena not remember lightning.  How happen?"

She shakes her head at Tuskaloosa's words.  "Anyone else drive King Scorpion?  Is Troll size.  Maybe need for ride to meet and home."

Marco tells Arc "Every run you can walk home from is a good run, you are being to harsh of yourself we got the job done one way or the other and you are not the only one who messed up a little bit."
Marco approached Dana and told her "We are delivering you to the people you wanted, everything is going to be alright. I know that you had it rough - you can still see where you are going from the astral, but we'll guide you still, it is just down the street."
He nodded at Firefly "Firefly, can you clean this spell for me too, I actually learned it for costume parties when a client has no time to find something wiz to wear  or if someone else is wearing exactly the same thing. Avoid the awkwardness.   It seems like a good fit here.  You'll be looking really wiz Dana I'll send you a picture if you want." It took a dash of magic and Dana appeared different. A male, with purple cybereyes and a cyber arm. Muscular one and quite handsome.  "Better deliver her like this than carrying a restrained and blindfolded person in the street don't you think so?"

Marco uses the physical mask spell - to make Dana more presentable at the delivery.

The troll couldn't argue with the Russian elf's logic: not only was she the only one big enough to ride the King, the bike itself was borrowed and needed to be returned to the shop with its adventures this night untraceable to the Howlers.
There had also been the unspoken order from that Howler troll: protect Arc.
Two things she wasn't able to do unless she was physically there.

Tuskaloosa lowered her head. "Got it," she muttered bitterly.

Arc tilted her head, blinking a few times as she looked down, lifting her jacket to show the spot Yelena was referring to.  The lining of her bra and a patch of her chest was exposed, right over where her heart was.  "Ah...memory's a bit fuzzy, but think I had some metal there, crossed a medkit wire.  I'm alive now, so we good to go, aight?"

Sighing softly, she looked around as the rest of the stuff got loaded up. "Okay, we all set...dayum, better drop that once our man gets to the meet.  Or we ain't proving drek..but otherwise, let's go..Tuska, mind helping me?  I'll wheel the bikes by theyselves"

Once they were departing out the garage, she hung back with the troll, finding herself leaning a bit against her.  "We finish this and you wanna go back to help..do it.  I can get home just fine.  Just come by the garage and crash there when you done, aight?"

@ Marco  You get a selfie of Blake standing inside a deserted restaurant. It doesn't come with a geotag. But, it's clear where he is, Josie's!

Dana is still while Marco transforms her. She's afraid, but more than that she's resigned to her fate. And after the transformation she looks down in more than a little surprise. The word, "Alive?" forms on her lips, but she doesn't utter it.

Tuskaloosa paused as the rigger leaned against her.  "Just give me a tick to ask, first.  They don't look like strangers to moving, and I'm sure they don't need troll power for one."

For all I know, they'll be gone before I get back.

"Mebbe so, but a shop's still a shop, with lots ta pack.  A little extra troll power'll get 'em gone that much faster, aight?  Go on, hurry up and ask then,"  Arc finished  with an exaggerated  elbow  to the troll's hip.  "We still have ground ta cover."

Mages are free as birds, they can go wherever they want in the speed of thought. If I was a mage I could just go to meet Blake, for me things are more difficult and if Blake sends me the photo it means that what he is about to tell me is crucial to happen before the delivery. I obviously cannot be in two places at once, but I did that once today - a spiritual phone call.

I cannot leave my body - no adept can -  but I can send a proxy to mediate the link for me. Stretch my abilities to go around my shortcomings - and receive the message that is clearly of great importance to Blake.  It worked for me before but I have not heard of any documented communication like this - I guess it is because all these books are written by mages that think that all other awakened are inferior. Or it is because my kind of magic is too insignificant to write books about and I need to figure it out on my own.

>> Blake wait outside the building you are in, make sure you are visible from the air go out for a smoke or something.

I only use spirits to do what I cannot do myself - and go where I cannot go. If Blake has something important to happen before we deliver it has to happen like this.

Oh lord, please strengthen me in my dealing with spirits and make sure that I can do so correctly. I pray and then summon, hoping that this time the results will not be as catastrophic as before.

I summon a daemon - a strong one, capable of shape changing for discreteness and mindlinking. “Thank you for coming to help me, Blake has an urgent message to convey to myself, your services are to materialize high above Josie where you can see Blake, disguise yourself as a bird and then use the mindlink to communicate with him speak to him with my voice and convey his replies to me with our telepathic link,  You are doing a great service for me by enabling this conversation.

Summoning: 11d6t5 4

resist summon: 5d6t5 1
need F6 so additional dice:
Additional dice: 1d6t5 0
Resist drain: 11d6t5 5
3 services gained - no drain.

I  could not see a thing - as it all happened in another world and another place. The mantra I keep memorizing the entire time I am waiting for the connection to be established -  Daemons are not evil ! I am evil! There is darkness in me that is suppressed by years of controlling my emotions and magically manipulating them. I search my soul and figure it out - even Eagle said that I can shape my own spirits. He was not impressed by the flames of hell and the theatrics - shape is something that spirits change all the time. It is not something they have, it is something they wear. They are not even physical beings.

Just to make sure that the spirit itself can do the mojo successfully.

The halfers are almost done packing up the essentials by the time Arc, Yelena, Marco, Firefly and Tuscaloosa are done talking and preparing. Several vehicles have already left, including the one with the fresh chops. The few gang members that look your way while their working look quickly away again, trying hard to ignore you. Hatter is seemingly everywhere sometimes helping pack, sometimes unpacking things and putting them back. None of the Munchkins argue with him or attempt to repack the items after him, Just shrugging and moving on in most instances although twice there's a frustrated groan.
