@Poindexter Sam's Sneaking skill isn't high but his Agility 8 makes him good at it anyway. The only person who has a better Sneaking dicepool than Sam is Ace.

Yes, absolutely. I'm going to say that the (Ares) Weapons World features options for personal protection, including the Globetrotter line.

Go ahead and slap up some slightly-retroactive RP for the Weapons World excursion. You can select the Custom Protection environmental customization, but just know that I'm going to pick on you with cold resist rolls if you don't get Insulation 2. I'll make an exception for Sam since the Globetrotter vest only has Custom Protection 3. Since his Body rating makes him largely impervious to cold already I'll let him get away with Insulation 1.

Yeah, with the ¥¥ we're looking at in the fairly immediate future (and the amount of gold we have left) I'm gonna go with no.  Doc STRONGLY votes no.  ¥880 is a rounding error on the amount of money we have in gold, let alone what we are aiming at getting :)

Sam can get a jacket if he wants; it's just that Poindexter said "vest". I'll leave it up to rednblack/Ace, since the jacket is only ¥400 extra. Pretty good deal for 3 armor and 1 Custom Protection. You can thank the errata for removing the 50% price increase for troll gear.

Katsina will cast and quicken Alleviate Allergy [Sunlight] and Combat Sense on Sam. She also needs to cast Alleviate Allergy on herself. She has 1 karma remaining.

She can buy 3 hits for Alleviate Allergy and 4 hits for Combat Sense. Three hits is enough to negate both their allergies to sunlight (Severe for Katsina and Moderate for Sam). The drain on Alleviate Allergy is negligible (F-6) so she'll cast at F6. Combat Sense is more demanding (Drain = F) and the Contact trigger adds +1 drain, so she'll limit herself to F4 for that.

Drain soaking: Willpower 6 + Intuition 6: 3#12d6t5 5 hits 5 hits 4 hits

She takes 1S from Combat Sense, but since she and Sam are Netflix and chilling all day she should be fine.

Since Sam's armor is as much for protecting the environment from his excretions as it is for protecting Sam from the environment, I think he should be getting something more full body - pants, gloves, shoes, etc. Usually such details are written off under lifestyle, but since he requires Env Prot 2+ I want to make sure we are covered. If you're okay with the vest keeping him from accidentally damaging the RV interior (and other similar indoor environments), then it's cool. I just don't want to be mid-trip and requiring Sam to make rolls every time he moves in order to keep from touching something.

Regarding the loadouts for the drones, I'm not aware of anything we can add short of sensors. Is there a default loadout to the sensor array? The one from 4E (Arsenal) sets the default vehicle array as Atmosphere Sensor, 2 cameras (front and rear), 2 laser range finders (front and rear), 2 motion sensors (front and rear), and radar (360 degree, presumably). There is no Radar in 5E, but it could be treated mechanically as 360 degree Ultrasound, using EM rather than sound waves so vulnerable and resistant to different things. Or you can pick whatever makes sense to you or let us pick a load out. The sensor loadout has no effect on cost or availability, so I'm assuming our limitation of 6 availability is for sensor modifications, such as vision magnification, etc. From that assumption, I propose the following:
Low light (1, +4, 500¥)
Vision Mag (1, +2, 250¥)


The inclusion of Vision Mag is predicated on the assumption that the drones will be flying at a reasonable altitude and so most perception rolls will be at range. However, perception doesn't have a range increment, so it is up to the GM what penalty to assess to a roll based on distance. If it is of no mechanical benefit, I could swap in Vision Enhance 1. If we are looking at some starless nights coming up, maybe Thermo would be better, but I assume that there will be some lighting. I'll have to defer to Tec on this.


Alternatively, we could schedule the physical meet during daylight and then not need to worry about lighting conditions with the exception of snow glare, making Vision Enhance 2 and Flare Comp the way to go (or VE 1, FC, and Vision Mag under the same assumptions as above).

Regarding Sam's armor, it does not have to be a full-body suit to be effective in protecting his surroundings from his acidic secretions. Since Shadowrun doesn't have any mechanics around hit locations, the majority of armor available is upper-body rather than full-body. I'm not going to penalize Sam for a lack of full-body armor options in the rules.

As for the drones and their sensors, the package outlined by Malevolence is for full-sized vehicles. That is the package that the EMC Prometheus has, for example. To be explicit (from p. 105 of Arsenal):
- atmosphere sensor [1]
- 2 cameras (front and back) [1 each]
- 2 laser range finders (front and back) [1 each]
- 2 motion sensors (front and back) [1 each]
- radar [5]

The Fly-Spy and the Flying Eye, on the other hand, are minidrones. Per p. 446 of SR5, minidrones have the same capacity as a handheld sensor, which is 3. (This is the same as it was in Fourth Edition.) The drones have the following standard loadout:
- atmosphere sensor
- 1 camera (front) [1]
- directional microphone

The cameras have a maximum capacity of 6 for accepting vision modifications. Malevolence's suggestion of Low Light + Vision Magnification would work. Vision Magnification will provide tangible mechanical benefits, although perhaps more to stealth (being able to see the same thing from further away) rather than for the drones' Perception tests.

That's a roll I'll take - total of 7 hits. Social limit is 8 (at least) so I get to keep all hits.
Since we are meeting virtually, I doubt the wireless bonus from my suit will work. It seems like a face to face sort of thing, but maybe it does something to affect brain chemistry or gently fondle your nuts to make you feel more confident or something else to make you more social. Heck, maybe it acts as a personal assistant that reads your vitals to determine stress level and sends you an endless stream of positive comments via DNI to keep your self image in tip-top shape. Hell if I know. If so, I get an additional die for all of those. Just add it in as you roll for modifiers.
